This is the way I first learned to fish. At times still my best and favorite way to fish. Great way to introduce younger people to fishing and the thrill of catching that first fish.
Man you been knocking out video after video the last couple days really appreciate that keep me busy in my spare time also like the use of the worm now that's keeping it realistic
Man it's been rough down here too. This rain...the water dropping...just tons working against it right now, glad to see some nice catches on the worms.
@@RealisticFishing it may be slow but it was around this time last year when we were in that long cold stretch that I caught my PB largemouth, froze bad between the wind and cold for three hours without a bite and then finally had that one hit over 10lbs lol.

Seems like tennessee has turned into nothing but rain. It’s makes the winter worse. But then I get to watch a great video only to be left hanging haha. Looking forward to the follow up video. Have a good one man 👊🏻
I totally busted out laughing when you were talking about keeping the worm on and then lost it after casting it into a tree. HAHAHA! Sounds like my fishing!! LOL
I've been trying to get better at setting the hook as soon as they bite, but I keep missing them. So I put just enough worm on the hook to cover the shank and that seems to avoid gut hooking them when they really take off with it. I dunno if it's the fish here or what, but when I put a whole red worm on, they chomp it and get gut hooked. Can't wait to see part two!
HEY! I took your advice for a bottom rig used a worm and caught my first large mouth bass! I was going for panfish. Thank you for the advice i was stoked
I like Mono which has stretch. It helps me with hesitation because I am a little jumpy. Like a long rubber band it takes an extra second for the other end of the line to catch up to the rod and prevents me from yanking it right out of the fish's mouth. Of course this is an experienced opinion.
Realistic Fishing Some kind of jon boat and kicker man. Some point in the future would be hooked up. Did you say thats a power plant lake? My home body of water is 9000 square miles. Even an 18 foot deep v lund isnt built for it. Once upon a time it Literally about had half the boat ripped off from rough water. I fish alot of smaller lakes around my area. Not quite 22000. Im able to use a flatbottom with just a trolling motor. Cheap. And all you need. You can even hop over logs and get back into thickest of crap.
I alteady have a boat that i have taken out for a few episodes. I have another project boat in the wings. Its time to take the boat out that I am missing... The boat is the easy part.
Realistic Fishing it would be awesome. I wanna see more of this place. Like whats around that bend/point or whatever to the right of the screen at the very start of the video. If thats even where the lake continues. Maybe its to the left or right or maybe all 3. Ive never watched yt fisherman to the point where i can actually somewhat learn the layout of his stomping grounds.
To Be Continued!?!?! *sigh* Keep up the good work. Seriously though, I like how you're not douchey like some of the other fishing channels. You killed it with Bro Manson.
I have some minnows on my porch that have been alive for just a week lol. That cold water is crazy good for keeping them alive. I'm more surprised the cats haven't torn up my little bucket.
Hey Alex. Will you ever buy a boat or are you strictly a bank fisherman? Don't take me wrong, I like that you keep it real and fish on a reasonable budget like me, I'm just curious.
Do you think the larger fish look for an expiration date on their food. Do you think they look at those minnows and say that dont look good what is the date on that? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Finally something good to watch after being stuck in this f***in hospital bed since Sunday.
Get Well 👊
Thanks fellas. Crohn's disease can eat a dick lol. I just want to go crappie fishing 😅
Get well
Hang in there.

It bring me back 35 years every time I go. 👍
It's refreshing to see someone just fishing simple like most of us do. Would injoy fishing with you anytime. Again thanks for sharing
You left me with a cliffhanger. Look forward to the next video. Nice bluegills and you have got to love the worm.
When all else fails, worms! 👍
Man you been knocking out video after video the last couple days really appreciate that keep me busy in my spare time also like the use of the worm now that's keeping it realistic
Thanks for watching Adrian 👍
Those damn trees always get me every once in a while too. Cool vid man.
Noooo! Not in the tree 😅
Ahhhhh a cliff hanger?! I’ve added some bobbers to my tackle bag since watching your videos. Getting a lot of numbers on live bait
The bobber really helps it to just sit in their face. 👍
I've been skunked my last 3 outtings. Glad to see some catching some fish. Thanks Brother.
Yikes, better luck next time 👊
@@RealisticFishing
To me it's just my excuse to keep going. I can't and will not remain skunked. 😎
when i am fishing i don't care how big or small there are as long as i am catching fish and you hook a few today for sure! Good Job!
Sometimes you just want to catch something 👍
Always enjoy the content. Pretty jealous, northern IL is all froze up till spring so catch somethin for us ha. Keep it up and tight lines!
No ice fishing?
@@RealisticFishing i would say it is at most an inch and a half, so not yet ha.

Love it. Great job as usual. Beautiful colors on those bluegills
Glad to see any open water fishing!
Me too, it kinda sucks right now, but I am grateful.
That’s dedication fishing in a cold rain 👊
One of my favorite times, not too many other people out 👍
Kool the old tree I don't know why they reach out and get our line bro lol. Thanks for sharing
It jumped right in my way!
You lucky thats not frozen im in michigan and can only ice fish in winter
Cant wait for the best minnow action in part 2!

Nice gillz on the wigglies bro. Bring on part 2!!!!! Keep it reel homie

That's a fun day's fishing in the rain already! To be continued? Alright! How far are you backed up on video releases?
This one would have been over 20 minutes so its best to split it up 😅
I hope you didn’t leave that blue container laying around 😜 because next week you’ll be blaming my primos for it LOL 😂
I would never leave that laying around 😆
Wow that lake has an abundance of Bass food. Hopefully that translates to bigger bass in the future. Good video tight lines
Big bass are always welcome
Kool video bud. I haven't fished with redworms in a long time. 🎣😎🎣😎🎣😎🎣
When the fishing is tough, red worms should get a bite 😀
No kidding. 👍👊
Freezing rain and temperatures, dedication at its finest 👍🏻
Rain or shine! 💪
Great video ready for the 2nd half
What will I catch? Tune in next time... 👍
Those red wigglers are hard to come by in my area these days. Much easier to use than nightcrawlers. Nice job on an ugly day.👍
I get them at the gas station 👍
Love me some perch jerkin'. For me when fishing for bluegill, nothing beats a worm. I also enjoy fishing in the rain.
When all else fails, worms.
Im excited to see the next episode
Will the minnows work better? We'll see!
HEY! I took your advice for a bottom rig used a worm and caught my first large mouth bass! I was going for panfish. Thank you for the advice i was stoked
Awesome! 👊
Hey Realistic fishing I want to know have you ever used mullet for gar fishing :-) ?
Nope, havent tried that.
Love your videos.... please keep them coming.
Happy to have you on the show! Lol
Guest starring Bluegill
Quick question for you. High Stretch vs Low Stretch line, does it really matter?
I like Mono which has stretch. It helps me with hesitation because I am a little jumpy. Like a long rubber band it takes an extra second for the other end of the line to catch up to the rod and prevents me from yanking it right out of the fish's mouth. Of course this is an experienced opinion.
Great video as always, very gills u were catching!Going fishing tomorrow for some gills!
Good luck out there MH 👊
@@RealisticFishing Thanks buddy👊
I can’t seem to be able to catch any fish far from shore (like as far as u fished in the video), do you have any tips?
I would look for something in the water like, logs, big rocks, or even a boat ramp.
I noticed you don't use your $15 spinning combo.. did you upgrade??
I wouldnt exactly call these upgrades. More like flavor of the week. 👍
You had good luck with those minnows. When I would fish with them in the summer I had a hard time keeping them alive over a 48 hours.
The cold weather really helps keep them alive
Nice gill to start the day
Mmmm gilly yo!
Looking forward to part 2.

Really nice work on the video
Keep making great content

Can you do a catch and cook blue gill
Maybe one of these days ...
I concur with this request.

for this kind of fishing - 6 lb test

meow!
It can be tough but looks like you are slaying it. Wish I was I've been getting my tail kicked.
I can usually find a bluegill or two 👍
Is there any perch in that lake?
I am not sure. I havent caught any in ten years... if that means anything.
If there were Yellow Perch, you'd know it, lol.
Where can I buy such a float?
Walmart
Great video
👍👍
Worms always catch fish!! I'm thinking the minnows will bring in some bigger fish though!
We'll have to wait and see 👍
Hey Alex how you doing?
Good, how are you?
Glad you are doing good brother..I am doing much better..Off work for 2 weeks...Hope I can get some fishing in...
yes to be continued.I've been trying to figure out how to edit with my phone I just caught a bass. ill post...sweet vid brother ..
My pet bluegill is similar to the first one you caught just a lil darker
Do you have shirts for sale I would love to where are your logo out in California when I'm fishing
Can you please try to do some winter catfishing for a couple of videos.
It will be me out there catching nothing.... and it would be all your fault. 😉
Cliff hanger. Oh boy. Damn it.lol
Until next time!
Alex are you as tired of the cold and rain as me? You didn't let it stop though. You got out there and found some fish. 👊👍
I got 3 more months of it.... 💪
I bought an ice fishing rod specifically for "city lake" fishing where the gap in the brush/tree line gives little room to cast.

I also like a shorter rod when casting in the trees 👍
That's my #1 bait i use for pan fish is redworms. Your all ways on the fish.
When in doubt, red worms!

Nothing like a worm for panfish.
Nice and easy 👍
I’ve always preferred worms over minnows
They seem like a sure thing 👍
You need to try a worm threader
Set it deeper. Like 6 ft. They're in the thermoclines.
Thermoclines in a lake with dams and current?
Been waiting on some worm action(that is NOT what she said). Keep it realistic!
eh? 😅
