    Don't forget to visit Fun Place beside the Gaiety Theatre! You can try on costumes, wigs, masks, whatever you like! You can take photos and have the craic in there and make it an enjoyable experience, even if you don't buy anything!

    Take the train out to Sandycove (beautiful journey along the strand) and visit the Martello tower and James Joyce museum - great view from the top. Then go to Fitz's pub on the way back to the station - one of the best pints of the black stuff in Dublin.

    the poor still live on the north side and the rich still live on the south.. been living here for 16 years everything else about this guide is absolutely accurate.

    Temple bar is a total RIP off. Nearly 2 x the price of elsewhere. 6.50 a pint minimum. Around the corner 5.0. Out of Dublin 4.50

    1. It is expensive
    2. Public transport sucks
    3. Weird, funny english accent
    4. Night life
    5. Some areas better to avoid
    6. Irish are very friendly and funny
    7. Weather sucks

    7:47 What does this guy mean when saying Dublin is "still pricier than the rest of the UK" ?
    Is Paris pricier than the rest of Germany, Tokyo pricier than the rest of China, Mexico City pricier than the rest of the USA ?

    • @Mr71Bernard
      @Mr71Bernard 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      He's from the UK. Part of the island of Ireland is still part of the UK. In saying Dublin is pricier than the rest of the UK he's simply comparing it to the rest of the British Isles. And yes, before you whinge, we all know its a different country.

    I would avoid temple bar..nicer bars between grafton street and georges street...also the north inner city can be dodgey..lot of druggies and assorted dodgey characters!

    I've just visited Dublin, and I got scammed outside of the Guinness storehouse. Me and my family saw the sign for a ride on the horse and cart for 4 of us. The sign said €30 to the temple bar. When we got off, I gave the guy €30 and he said it's €30 each €120 for a 10 minute ride. Be aware. Make sure you ask first, is it for each person, or just don't go on.

    To all those who plan on travelling to Dublin, don't drink in Temple Bar or just one at the most. You're going to be ripped off beyond belief.
    Walk through it, have a look in but head to bars elsewhere

    Dublin travel guide:
    1. Get on a bus out of Dublin
    2. Enjoy the rest of your stay

    Excellent guide, I would add (as a Dub) that Temple bar is a tourist only zone. The locals drink elsewhere and prices reflect that.

    Hello..In June I will visit Ireland for the first time, I would like to know of a central area to stay where I will be close to fine dining, cafes, bars, and transportation. Thank you

    • @JOANNED83
      @JOANNED83 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try to stay as close to Dublin City centre like Dublin 1 or Dublin 2. (there are 24 postcodes) It maybe more pricy if you do. Dublin has a bus, train and luas service if you can't stay central. Temple bar is incredibly over priced, shop around 😉 there is way more to Dublin than Temple Bar, there are red bus tours to see sights and the green tourists bus will bring you to the beaches. I hope you have a great time ☘️

    Is it okay to wear backpacks into establishments (restaurants, cafes, museums, the like) ? I'm carrying camera gear in one (weight distribution), but I am nervous that I'd be rejected from some places because of the backpack!
