@@mpchead Totally understand! I plan on doing more videos about it or at least a beginner guide. It’s honestly the best sampler on the market. It’s just a bit weird for our style of production
Giving me instant old school jungle/drum n bass vibes when you started tweaking the snare with those fx. Makes sense since this machine is pretty much based on the Amiga/Atari sequencing software those producers were using back then
Great inside look and review of the Polyend Tracker Marlow. It really is a dope sampler with a unique approach and workflow for making beats. I have one myself and just need to make time to get on it. Thanks for posting.
Very nice Video; I really like my PolyendTracker. Ever sice I got it about half a year ago I barely touch my MPC Live II or Digitakt. Beat Workflow because of its limitations I think.
Very rarely see people make hip-hop using trackers. The only guys I can really think of is Aim and early Pete Cannon stuff before he switched to doing jungle/dnb exclusively
I like to beat slice breakbeats and drum loops, kinda like how jungle/breakcore musicians do it but this is my first venture into electronic music so really just experimenting, can’t wait to under more about it to finish songs on it, great video 😎👌🏾
Really nice introduction to the device! I have one myself and somehow love the workflow. In case you'd make other videos on it, I would be really interested in how you would use the wavetable / granular synth engines, how to tweak the sounds of them etc. And in case you dive into sequencing external MIDI gear, it would be interesting to see your workflow with regards to programming the notes, using those OFF / FADE commands, maybe resampling sequenced MIDI gear etc. That's where I'm not quite sure whether there is a more effective workflow than mine so far, and where other producer's videos are really helpful since one will always discover some shortcuts, workflow improvements, workarounds etc.
Happy new year. Thank you for the insight. Good to see a tracker in hardware. I'll take a closer look at the manual but although I like it I guess I wouldn't buy it. I use OpenMPT tracker on my PC for years now and the Polyend Tracker is IMO too limited compared to it.
This sampler is super gnarly i just got it earlier today, im cutting samples so fast i can add effects, i can turn it into a wave form and make a gnarly synth But honestly i can chop samples fast into my MPC 1000 that can easily be played fast, which yes i can do in my 1000 i have jjos but this polyend is phenomenal. Cant wait to see what jams i make with the two
yep a inn depth look into this would be great ! I consider to grab one anytime soon so .....I need to see its full potential and I really appreciate you don' t make any stupid jungle track shit with it !!!
Nice man. I've been getting along with mine. Very cool unit to have in the stable. Glad I found a used one a little cheaper than the going rate. BTW, they last stupid long on a powerbank :D
Definitely different workflow with lots of features to experiment with. I would likely go with and SP404 mk2 before this though. At the end of the day, I will stick with the MPC2000xl for the original workflow and manually creating beats + soundscapes in raw, unfiltered form.
When i first seen one of these on Ave McRees channel I was like wth is this? this dont make no sense! Plus i seen a video of how this jungle producer made beats on the old school COMMODORE Pro Tracker i was totally confused... BUT!! I get now, I get it!
I'm here because I'm tempted to ditch my Rhythm for the Tracker. It's totally useless outside in the sun, is missing timestretch and the lack of a filesystem annoys the hell out of me lately.
Cuantas canciones puedes guardar internamente?... Es posible guardar canciones de manera externa?... Puedes importar samples?,...
In case you mean finger drumming and live recording: It's possible, quantized to the grid ( = steps ) or unquantized with microtiming. The pads aren't velocity-sensitive though and pretty small. So I'd say it's not so convenient and effective for recording finger drumming.
it's neat little machine, but Tracker is waaaaay more powerful, and it's truly a sampler with line in for sampling, which unfortunately you can't say the same about elektron..
Fwiw sold my Mpc live once I got one. I just preferred the workflow and was in the zone every time I used it. It’s less about specs for me and more about interface/workflow. I also love the sound of the granular and wavetable synths. Guess I’m in the niche
workflow is super easy, intuitive and fast compared to eg. MPC , i made my first beat just after an hour or two after buying, without having to look at the manual, and i didnt have any experience with trackers in the past. It just may look complicated with all those lines and numbers while watching on youtube, but in reality it isn't :)
Definitely one of my favorite drum samplers. I never have free time to use or teach it. I bought it and love it.
yeah it feels like a video game in a way, like I just want to explore more and see what happens next.
When are you 2 going to collab though? Maybe using this machine, just saying.
@@mikesoto6102 I have plans on doing more collaborative work. I been struggling creatively lately.

I’ve been waiting so long for someone who primarily samples to review this, thank you
I'm a fan of your channel (I have an mpc 1000) and I love my Polyend Tracker. So glad you got one. You're gonna love it. Nice review!
i remember when we used fastracker (dos) and madtracker 2 (win95) ... good old time of the trackers on pc

Happy New Year to everyone ! :)
I WOULD HAVE NEVER THOUGHT YOU WOULD HAVE THIS INSTRUMENT ON YOUR DESK ONE DAY
Yeah it is something totally different from what I normally do.
I really don't need this, but it reminds me so much of the old ProTracker on the Commodore Amiga that I used to use back in the 90s, so I'm tempted!
Very nice Video; I really like my PolyendTracker. Ever sice I got it about half a year ago I barely touch my MPC Live II or Digitakt. Beat Workflow because of its limitations I think.
this is rad, i've always wanted to see if the polyend tracker can make beats. i'm glad it can!
Yeah it can, I'll make more on it.
In love with my Tracker :) Nice video!
Very rarely see people make hip-hop using trackers. The only guys I can really think of is Aim and early Pete Cannon stuff before he switched to doing jungle/dnb exclusively
maybe you could do a lil collab with this and your record sampling series. I think that would show some more of the work flow.

For me the best thing about this machine is the performance mode, there isn't really anything else as goof in hartware for live FUBAR! :P
Thanks Marlow. I've been waiting for an in depth review on this thing for hip hop beats. (I use Renoise rewired into Reaper and, so this helps).
Sounds like an alchemist and boldy James joint

For sure doing more videos on this sampler, specially for midi and granular sounds.
Awesome!
I keep trying…Not to use it all the time, this thing is different and addictive. Keep pushing it :).
Dad dude I was about ask you to check this out...a head of the game man
Really curious about this one, I started out with trackers and I used to love that workflow. Perhaps if I find one for a nice price someday.

I'm starting to realize this. I'm just trying to figure out how to record video and audio to post jams.
Can you play out everything in real time like the mpc ?
What do you mean by in real time? It works similar to an mpc, you play the sequence and you can jump between sequences.
In case you mean finger drumming and live recording: It's possible, quantized to the grid ( = steps ) or unquantized with microtiming. The pads aren't velocity-sensitive though and pretty small. So I'd say it's not so convenient and effective for recording finger drumming.
And it can calculate your tax returns 😋
Just kidding, like how they made a hardware Tracker.
marlow, are you still an mpc head?
Yeah always, I still haven't found a replacement. Not that I need one
Hey bro have you tried elektron model samples? I think it's a beast.
I haven't yet, I'm sure it feels good

Renoise is the best

£500 for quite a niche tracker workflow, it's monophonic and it only has 3.5 mini jack in/outs, no balanced outs, good luck with that Polyend.
An mpc 60 goes for 2500$ and has less than that. It's really what inspires and works for you.
@@mpchead True. But for the money i think you'd be better buying an sp404 mk2, or something on the 2nd hand market like an Mpc2000
