I saw on one of the flying fields a camera guy had sights that are mounted where usually the flash is hooked up. So whenever he loses the plane he looks through the sights, w a on off red dot. ***the rudder too sensitive. Good job on the build.
I recently got a magnum 52 and I was wondering if it had enough power for something like that but obviously it has plenty for a 40 size RC plane! Thanks
I think you'll find a 52 magnum 4 stroke works fine. It won't be a screamer, but it's enough power to really enjoy the airplane. I think you'll find that the 4 stroke you could swing a bigger prop and will make the airplane perform well on climb outs and maneuvers.
I use servos from Hobbypartz.com. They have some excellent reliable servos at a fraction of the cost of other servos. But you don't need fancy high torque servos. Just some standard digital servos will do just fine.
+Dan P The plane balanced very well with the .52. The only thing I did was move the battery pack as far forward as possible as I can remember. A .61 four stroke should work well too. If the .61 is a two stroke, that will be too much in both power and weight.
+380PPK Thank you. I should have been clear. It was a 2 stroke I was asking about. However I also have a Saito 56 which should work well in this plane from what you have said. Thank you.
hey there the Magnum 52 four stroke is a good engine for this claim it's easy to turn and it's very reliable in my opinion I've not had it had any problems with it. no I won't be a screamer in the Spitfire or I should say your Corsair but it'll truck well in the sky and will be very manageable on Landing
The engine sounds great, beautiful flight, nice landing...nice video, congratulations!
Thank you!
I was holding my breath until you stopped 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🍿🍿🍿
Awesome flight , it was a thrill with a happy landing.
Nice plane great sounds

Nice flight but you defo need to use the flaps on that sucker to slow it down for landings 👍 I have the V2 with a Saito FA82B as yet unflown
Mine had the same motor now it has a super tiger 61. Perfect for it

I've got a VQ P51 Tuskegee edition arf that I might put it in!

GREAT FUN
what servos are you using @380PPK?

How did the Spitfire balance with the .52? Did you add any ballast weight?I'm thinking about putting an ASP.61 in one of these.

I been looking at that new Phoenix Models 1/8 Corsair. How is that Magnum .52 ? Is she easy to tune and start ? I'm just getting back into glow . :>)

Those engines have bad valve leakage like crazy i have 9 and all leak

What a horrible cowling paint job in some goofy white scheme, not even camo. completely ruins the looks of the Spitfire.
Yeah, they all mostly like that, its rare to find it perfect unless its a goofy FOAMIE! LOL
