I find Kim Kardashian's advice to most "regular" women about working and how to work extremely laughable. I don't doubt that Kim K. works hard (she probably does), but, in reality, she's also an extremely rich socialite with an extremely rich family and has a multitude of people assisting her in her businesses.
My mum graduated a year early from high school and graduated from beauty school when she was 18. By age 19, she opened her own hair salon. She worked Tuesday-Saturday 8AM-6PM, she worked on all the clients, mixed the colour, answered the phone, etc. - many days going without lunch. Dad was quite a bit older than mum and took the equally difficult job of "househusband" caring for 3 kids, cleaning, repairing, etc. When an unexpected set of twins came along and joined the family, mum took on an additional part-time job working Sunday and Monday (now working 7 days a week). Once all of us kids were in school, Dad (now age 64) also returned to full-time work, Monday-Friday and continued doing so until age 75. My mum was diagnosed with thyroid cancer at age 55, fought it for 8 years, and passed away at age 63. Dad lived to be 92, with his last 5 years riddled with Alzheimer's and dementia.
I tend to think that my mum (and dad for that matter) would be much better qualified to be the ones offering work advice to regular working women. But that's just my opinion.

right, so many women are doing all those jobs! Working 40-60 hours per week and then getting groceries on the way home from work, and then cooking a meal and watching the kids and getting up in the middle of the night for the kids and doing it all again the next day, putting on their own makeup, choosing their own clothes, cleaning the house themselves. @difficilis carere I think you’re referring to the physicist Marie-Antoinette Tonnelat? Or maybe less likely Marie Curie? This Marie Antoinette was the wife of King Louis XVI, and she actually had a pasture built on the grounds of Versailles simply so she could pretend to be a shepherd while servants actually tended the sheep and land. Her pompousness and complete disconnect (along with that of King Louis) with the ordinary people of France was a partial cause of the French Revolution. Her solution to the working class demanding bread was “let them eat cake,” although it’s more accurately translated as “let them eat brioche,” which pretty well parallels Kim Kardashian’s solution to poverty: “Just work hard and don’t be lazy.”

What she doesn't understand is that managing a family with a partner who is as overworked as you are is harder when you don't have people cleaning your house and washing your clothes and making your meals (and a few nannies taking care of your kids) is HARD.
Moreover, life shouldn't be all about work work work and wearing ourselves thin. People should have time to just be lazy. And that should be okay.

@@geeloxoxo2574 I translate: "Nobody wants to work for the misery I'm willing to pay for their work".
It's a typical "business owner" line. Success of businesses doesn't come oh from profit but also from costs contention. Human resources are the easiest to cut in order to minimize costs, the more work you get done by the less you pay It's considered a gain for the company.
These people have no idea of what it's coming from nowhere and have nothing . And I mean no connections, no generational wealth, no loans. Rich people are more likely to take bigger risks and earn bigger profits because they have a safety net underneath them in case they fall.
But they are completely unaware of that because they've always had that safety net, that's their reality.
