    I used my points for Hyatt Jamaica, all inclusive for 25K/night. Not bad for all inclusive. All thanks to Daddy Sebby.

    British Airways is my favorite transfer partner because I live near an American Airlines hub (Charlotte) and can do a lot of point redemptions on direct flights to the Caribbean.

    Hey Sebby! Now that the CSP and CSR aren’t as desirable with Covid and the recent upgrades to the Freedom lineup, would you consider doing a video on the best way to spend the points if you only have the cards in the Freedom lineup? Ex, freedom, freedom unlimited, freedom flex

    Hi Seb. Like you I try to maximize my CSR points too and by flying economy is one way of stretching your Chase points so my question is do you have a particular style of Chase points redemption assuming you're flying from NY to Southeast Asia? Is point transfer better or Chase travel portal good enough?

    I haven't had a chance to transfer my points yet but I would like to see a video on getting around the road block that a card may not be partnered with a specific airline or hotel chain. Sometimes you may be stuck with a certain brand and have points to transfer but your card may not be partnered with them! I would love to see "non-partnered" hacks video!!

    • @AskSebby
      @AskSebby  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @AskSebby
      @AskSebby  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes but they're not always efficient since the "value" is in finding saver rates. This usually means spending 10-30 mins pricing out different options; think going to different sites to check the price.

    I was actually just looking at this yesterday. I wish chase had more domestic airline partners like JetBlue (which is Barclays). I'd love to take greater advantage of the transfer partners, but unfortunately I'm stuck with United as the primary airline for my airports :P

    • @AskSebby
      @AskSebby  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm in a United hub as well. Points are still great for last minute flights (normally $150 and trying to charge $700).

    I understand why you had to stray away from answering which is the best airline transfer partner. However; i'm sure many people including myself would've enjoyed your choices and your reasoning why. In short, you didn't completely answer the question people were hoping for an answer for. I understand that you enjoy hotel stays but for me, including many others, we don't stay in hotels and instead we use AirB&B or homeaway. Dont get me wrong tho, the information you put out in this video was great but i was really excited to hear about pros and cons about different airlines if possible. So please revisit this in another video. Thanks.

    • @AskSebby
      @AskSebby  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The pick of Hyatt is inclusive of airlines. Even with airlines, I would still pick Hyatt.
      If I had to pick an airline, probably Singapore (F/J redemption). United for last minute stuff (SFO is a United hub). Maybe VA for some specific use cases.

    • @AskSebby

      Hyatt has been easily 2 CPP to 3 CPP in my experience. $150 hotels for 5,000 Hyatt (so 5,000 Chase) points.

    great video. probably my favorite in a long time. please do more like this. I always want to know best transfer partners to use points. i have been hording points and dont know what to do with them. over 200k Hilton. 200k amex points, 30k Alaska, 80k delta, 80k ur points.

  • @ProfessorPS3
    @ProfessorPS3 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Wouldn't it make more sense to book economy with points instead of business class seats? I'd assume you'd be able to stretch your points further by avoiding luxury seats and opting for economy thus giving you more flights rather than a single fancy flight?
    Am I off the mark anywhere here?

    • @AskSebby
      @AskSebby  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You need to price it. For economy flights, CSR at 1.5 CPP is usually better unless it's a last minute flight. CSR (1.5 CPP) + waiting on deals can yield a ton of value.
      For example, I'm flying Economy from SFO to HKG for $330 via Cathay. I paid cash but could have booked with CSR for 22k UR.
      Using transfer partners there would still be about 80k UR.

    Like someone mentioned here, I too wish Chase had more domenstic airline partners because sometimes Delta or American have better deals plus they switch between who the better airline is as well. I remember when Continental used to be my fovorite domestic airline but then they merged with United and now they suck but I honestly can't tell the difference now because they all charge you for everything and it's to the point I hate flying now. Even for bin space they charge you extra, it's just ridiculous!

    • @AskSebby
      @AskSebby  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Another thing to consider is that transfer partners usually don't make sense for domestic flights (other than last minute or sweet spot ones). Your city probably plays a bigger role in that more than anything (i.e., ATL as a Delta hub, SFO as a United hub, etc.)

  • @raquelt5342
    @raquelt5342 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    In regards to transferring out points to hotel partners, what is the point difference when booking a hotel room (let’s say Hyatt) on the chase travel portal than if you were to transfer your points to Hyatt and then book through them? Example: would a room on chase portal worth 10k points be less points on Hyatt when you transfer out?

    • @AskSebby
      @AskSebby  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to price it out. Which one costs you less points? Pick that one. This process should take you 2-5 minutes.

    Thank you for great video 👍👍👍

  • @kingzts
    @kingzts 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah hyatts have the most value over first class tickets. I'm planning on park hyatt tokyo in the near future. $700/night but with points only 30k/pts per night. You should also know you pay NO TAXES when you pay with points. I did 2 weeks in southeast asia staying at all hyatts. Did not pay for anything. Thats a great feeling.

    • @AskSebby
      @AskSebby  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I've mentioned that in the past, but people always get confused (since they assume I'm referring to the portal vs. transfer partners).
      Singapore (JW Marriott is solid) is another place where the no taxes play a huge role.

  • @roberttaylor8906
    @roberttaylor8906 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Only one? Yeah, probably Hyatt especially since I have 60k AA miles and 60k Delta miles. Also 50k TY points and 25k Mr points - haven't looked too extensively on those but I get the impression that airline redemption is better for mr and ty so all in all "only one" for Chase would be hotel ergo Hyatt. Like you said Marriott can make sense in specific use cases especially since they have a larger footprint but I think Hyatt represents a better value overall if I had to lock myself in....luckily that's not a decision anyone really has to make cuz I have over 180k chase UR points lol

    • @AskSebby
