The Covadonga Escolanía says goodbye between tears and applause
The archbishop has not referred to the Covadonga Escolanía, which said goodbye after 78 years of history. An end announced two months ago due to lack of students. Accompanied, as is usual on many September 8th, by former students. Wrapped up, to say goodbye to 78 years of history of the Escolanía de Covadonga, under the direction of Jorge de la Vega, to the organ, Fernando Álvarez.
During these years, students have received musical training and education here. Today many are conductors of orchestras, choirs, conservatories, teachers, composers. The choir had 60 choir members; Now it closes due to lack of students. This is what Adolfo Mariño, abbot of Covadonga / Cuadonga, tells it.

Like every year on September 8, the image of the Virgin of Covadonga emerges from Lake Enol in the Picos de Europa led by a group of divers. He submerged in 1972 in a cave eight meters deep and leaves Asturias every day for a few hours.
