  • A student from the Emory Castle Chess Camp requested it and we provided it. Here is the risky but interesting line with 4.Qh4!? versus the Scotch Opening with analysis for white's perspective. Essentially, if white does not follow the suggestion black can find himself equal to better almost immediately.

Great Explanation. I needed this after facing the weird Qh4 move and wasted 2 mins on the clock trying to find the right continuation

Wow that video was uploaded quickly, thanks! I’m really hoping Fabiano can pull something crazy tomorrow, is Magnus still a big favorite for the rapid considering that atrocity of game 12? Is he really that much better than Fabiano in rapid even though Fabi is a super GM?

      Yes

Sorry, sarcasm got the better of me there. I give Magnus a 70% chance tomorrow to retain his title. It was a shock with game 12 ending the way it did, but objectively, I believe this has been the game plan for the Magnus team for some time. It is no secret that Magnus is a boss at rapid and blitz. I sincerely hope tomorrow we crown a new world champion but objectively I do not see it taking place.

I guess it was a bit better than 70%: th-cam.com/video/77fkOm8tpww/w-d-xo.html

On ratings below 1400 Qh4is the best move, because most players blunder the e4 pawn and go into an endgame down a pawn and with a terrible king, which you can attack while developing. Some people defend the want with the knight knight you pin the knight, and then they blunder the pawn very few people actually know the theory

Agreed, any technical theory beginners struggle with.
