Jeez... "Travelers", "14.3 Billion Years", and "Morning" give me such bittersweet vibes, but they're the right kind of bittersweet. The kind that makes me cry, but feel good at the same time. The last game I played that ended in a bittersweet way made me feel NOT good, so to see this ending and hear those tracks is a breath of fresh air. I love it.
Here’s some fun trivia about this game’s release. Originally it was going to be released on Steam (as all games were back then), but Epic Games picked it up, and made it one of their timed PC exclusives. This was actually one of those original ones that got this treatment in Epic Games’s rush for a foothold like Metro Exodus which gave it some controversy that it arguably needed. This mixed with its accidental, but comical none the less, extreme closeness to the name Outer Worlds caused a lot of people to be incredibly anger that their new space RPG wasn’t going to be on steam at launch. Then people realized this isn’t the Outer Worlds, got mad that any game was on Epic and not Steam, but without any actual backing to the anger it died out letting all that noise about Outer Wilds to be out on the internet with no real negativity attached to it for the common viewer. This whole thing kind of gave it enough lime light that a lot more people saw this game than would normally have, and only left with a neutral to positive view of the game. Though it’s unknown how many more/less copies were sold because of this they managed to safely get by, and got a lot of praise from the critics even winning an award for best indie game of 2019 during the golden Joystick. I will say whether it had succeeded or failed the company would have survived due to the deal with Epic giving them enough Money to keep their lights on no matter what happened.
Pretty incredible the game got made at all. Given it's humble origins as a student project. I don't have an issue with them releasing only on epic at first. I think indie devs should always take the safer route. Most of my favorite games in recent years are indies, I'd hate to see any of them dissolve their company due to unforeseen factors like releasing near a big triple A title or not getting enough of an advertising budget. So epic supporting indie devs even if their reasons are self serving is fine by me. I'm just glad the companys still afloat to be honest, glad they're able to even produce a dlc. But I'll be honest, outer wilds is so perfect that I don't think lightning can strike twice. But if the dlc is as good as the main game, It'll be hard to ever find another game I could call 'better' than this. Biggest travesty is that I didn't know this game existed sooner.

Even with it being very self centered I’m happy Epic went down the route of helping indie titles like Outer Wilds since I’m certain that would have just released and been lost to the ocean that is Steam. Didn’t know this was originally a student project which kind of makes me love this game even more.
@@metronicmagician1816 There's a good documentary style series of interviews with the Devs on TH-cam. They talk about the difficultys of coding it, how it came to be, and their reaction to outer worlds pretty much taking their google search results

All these visuals look so good wow . I really dont know if its the game or did I take the wrong meds today or something. The music sounds really good too loved when game wants you to put them as one piece !

Fun fact, there is a community made VR mod for the game! I've only heard good things about it and it enhances the experience very well.
