Hang in there. We’re all pretty much going through the same thing. The older we get, the more loss we experience. Check out the audiobooks that you like, practice meditation, try doing your favorite hobbies, do the things you’re interested in. Stay active and know that life continues on. Growing older doesn’t necessarily mean unhappiness. Agatha Christie audiobooks are a great way to experience her great novels. Be thankful for the gifts in life. Never let growing older take away your inner soul. Shine on and continue on your journey. The train keeps on going, open up a deck of cards or set up the chess board and enjoy the journey. It’s your move~~~
Cheryl Lee-- I knew a doctor who worked the AIDS ward at SF General hospital in the 1980's, when that virus' fatality rate was near 100%. He said they had a sign in the hall, made by the patients, that said: "Never regret growing old. There are so many that never get the opportunity." Whenever I feel sad about being over 50, I think of that and it helps me very much.
@@marc4199 😂💯 Agreed! Friends are overrated, since I turned 40 they became aquaintances, which is much better. They interfere too much, give bad advice and are never really there when you need them. Nothing like studying or reading a book while listening to this. Compared to the 2023, 1930 was not a good year to be alive, but there is a nostalgic feeling for a past that you never lived when you bring yourself back in time like this. Maybe we have a greater natural affinity to a simpler time with only books and good company instead of massively proliferated digital technology.
Have had afternoon tea, and dinner the following evening on the Orient Express Pullman that was in 2005 . Then had a day away on the Orient Express Northern Belle , served brunch , a trip to a stately home then back on the train for evening meal... Superb, that was 2007. Great memories, both with my lovely mum, who died in 2016...
I put this on, climbed into bed and the next thing I knew I woke up 4 hours later. After a stretch and a drink of water, I'm going to let it take me back to sleep 😴😌😌
I can't really travel, because of illness....can't fly (get blood clots), can't drive more than an hour (you guessed it) so videos like this for me are exciting! I get ready like I'm in a sleeping car, and turn you on.....and I don't even need to move my bed-my imagination takes care of it!! Thank you!!!
Jill, look into nattokinase for blood clots. Whether you ever fly or not, you need protection and the blood thinning drugs are not good for the body, as you likely know. So talk with your doctor about adding in the supplement and good luck to you and your “travels”.
I listen to this as I get into bed. Close my eyes and I am right there on the Orient Express, in my own private carriage with that lamp as ambience, listening to the rain and being rocked gently by the train as I get ready to drift off to sleep. I forget all my stress of the day and it’s like I’ve been transported back in time. It’s so soothing, thank you. ❤❤
Yesterday, I turned 54, and I was too busy with schoolwork to go out to dinner with family or friends, but thankfully, there's channels like this to take my mind off of everything and instead put it solely on the audio here as I drift off to sleep for the night.
So you’re still in school at 54? Ya grade 12 was a tough year, guess you’re still having trouble with it, lol. Wow all the students must be afraid of you.
