Those wheels make that model. Absolutely stunning. My passion for VWs has been ignited again. It would be cool if there was a way to make the rear lid pop out at the top like tbe Bugs in Hot VW magazine.
So basicly try to get as mucht steering angle as you can and use a giro that wil help out a lot. And when you start geting better the next thing is going to be speed (motor). Also al of the camber you have in the rear is not helping you (not enough grip)
Thanks for the advice, steering angle on these mini chassis is notoriously horrible since the servo is so far from the front. Worth looking into re-working it.
I'd say you need to go with maybe hard rubber tires in the back instead of plastic. I would keep experimenting with different compounds on the rear as well as suspension stiffness for a proper rwd drift
LOVE this!... now you just need to dump the Tamiya battery connectors, and get a gyro... it’s nearly impossible to drive a RWD drift car w/o one... great job!
Sometimes the lower budget stuff is surprisingly tons of fun. My wife got me an ECX 1/18th Torment 4x4 short course truck, and that little thing is a blast. Plus it is surprisingly durable for the price. The VW looks cool, and if its fun, does it need to handle like its on rails?
It really didnt take much at all. The chassis sits very low right out of the box, just mounted the body much lower on the body posts. I did add adjustable uppers to get the proper scale amount of camber on it and help the +6mm rear wheels tuck
Oops, donuts in an rc video are a no no. Rig looks good, looking forward to seeing the body finished. Maybe adjusting in your throttle curve will help you out in the beginning. Also the extreme camber is making the rear end super loose from lessened contact with your driving surface.
09fx ¿ actually it's the ruger blackhawk 45. I was told they only made 300 in this configuration with the stainless, but who knows if that's true. Regardless it's a great piece, super robust. It comes with a 45 ACP cylinder and a long colt cylinder so I appreciate that utility as well.
Right on. I figured as much but just had to ask. I’m gonna attempt to 3D print some for the tamiya bus I’m building. One more question if you don’t mind, what tires did you use?
They are hpi drift tires that were made specifically for those wheels. Hpi wanted to be different and these cup racer wheels were slightly larger than tamiya m-series.
@@RCeveryday Thanks for getting back to me on this, I really appreciate it. I have the M06 Beetle kit and I really want to put Porsche wheels on it. I am not sure what wheels will fit on the chassis as of yet. I have not started to build the car yet. I have been buying all of the hop ups for it and I intend to build the car when I have all of the hop ups I want on it. Keep up the good work on your channel, I really enjoy your stuff. Take care and have a great day.
HPI Cup Racer Porsche wheels and tires. They have been discontinued and are getting hard to find. They come in different offset, I have +2 in the front (I think, may be 0) and +6 in the rear
Those wheels make that model.
Absolutely stunning. My passion for VWs has been ignited again. It would be cool if there was a way to make the rear lid pop out at the top like tbe Bugs in Hot VW magazine.
Here is a great example of refusing to grow up. Nice
For rwd drifting we use giro’s and almost 90 degrees of steering angle. Also we use 10,5 turn motors

Man she looks really nice. With out crazy steer angle (60 degree plus) and proper shocks she's always going to spin out and do donuts.
I'd say you need to go with maybe hard rubber tires in the back instead of plastic. I would keep experimenting with different compounds on the rear as well as suspension stiffness for a proper rwd drift
My old XXX NT TEAM LOSI is Rear wheel drive and I have ribbed tires on the front to keep it going stright.
Looked so good outside! Only thing that was missing was tire smoke! cool little car for sure!
Don’t change a thing! Looks perfect!
The build is amazing! Drives like its on ice! Very cool!
That's looking sick! Great color choice.

Nice rims for the Beetle!
Gotta love the bug.

Hi there, looks amazing, wounder about the wheels, do they come with the tamiya m-06 rc kit?

Hi the bug looks so cool.

Well again I say "one hell of a bug"
Dude SICK!!!
Great VW build!! were did those rims come off of?
They are discontinued HPI cup racer wheels.
I love those amazing Fuchs. Did Tamiya make these wheels?
No these are vintage hpi cup racer wheels. Very hard to find now unfortunately.

09fx ¿ ha. Your channel is always fun. We have similar taste in vehicals.

that hex with the set screw looks like a axial part
I think you are right, I took them off my deadbolt when I put wideners on it. Good eye.
So sick
Where did you find the wheels? I was looking for a set but found out they’re discontinued.
Your paint job is sick.
Man I have had this set for a decade. Haven’t seen any for sale
Since unfortunately.
Right on. I figured as much but just had to ask. I’m gonna attempt to 3D print some for the tamiya bus I’m building.

I see. Cool. Thanks for the answers.

awesome build! is there room for an interior?😊
Maybe but it couldn’t be very deep.
Hi, where did you get the friction shocks kit or combo?
They are included in the kit, its the tamiya m06 beetle
What rims did you use? I'm building a bus on a M06 chassis and would like to use the Porsche style rims.
They are discontinued HPI porsche cup racer wheels.
Do you have a part number for the Porsche wheels? I really want to run those on mine. Thanks in advance.
It’s been so long man I have no idea. I’ve been looking for more for a couple years with no luck.

it's 12th scale
.....naaiiillllleeeeedddddd it
Sweet ride looks bad a$$ 🤙
Are you using a gyro?
no, maybe I should. Ive never had one before.
It is a game changer for sure. more controlled drifts. Great job! You have inspired me to build one now.
what wheels are those?
HPI Cup Racer Porsche wheels and tires. They have been discontinued and are getting hard to find. They come in different offset, I have +2 in the front (I think, may be 0) and +6 in the rear
Very nice . If you sell it I'm a buyer!!
