SU-METAL's voice, facial expressions, and movements are all perfectly beautiful.

They already have softer version and piano version of certain songs before like "Akatsuki Unfinished Version" and "The One - Stairway To Living Legend", i suggest you those version now that you already know the original.
This Piano version just keep melting my heart, i can't get enough of SuMetal and her beautiful vocals.
Thanks for sharing this and see you next time 🦊🤘🌈

Nice one - this is a beautiful version of what was already a beautiful song - and the live performance I've seen took it to another level.
This album is a concept album and at least a couple of the songs (maybe all or most of them) are songs they were considering and even recording as long as 5 years ago - 'Monochrome' is one of those songs. I forget which song it was that Su-metal said they did record 5 years ago and they have included some of that original recording in the one they did for the album - she said something like if you listen hard you can hear her more immature vocals and its almost like she is collaborating with her younger self.
As it is this concept they are not counting it as their 4th studio album, but more like an interim thing between the 3rd and 4th albums. I agree it does seem to have highlighted Su's vocals on the whole, but as it is a sort of stand alone thing we can't assume this album indicates what direction they might take for the future and whether they will be less or more metal from here on. I'm sure they will surprise us whatever they choose to do next.🦊

I think the combination of the older recordings with brand new ones was the "concept" behind the album

@@chrisharris1522 Quite possible or at least in part as it was about "the other BABYMETAL we didn't know existed".

The first take is a Japanese youtube channel that brings on artists (mostly Sony artists) for a single take performance of a song from their catalog. The audio has minimal post processing and represents a raw, single take performance.

    • @NormandyGaming

Well I like it overall. (They also don't copyright their stuff apparently this is the first time I've had a babymetal song not get claimed)

    Thanks for this reaction.
The way I see this is 2 ways: a beautiful arrangement/performance with feeling.
But also a work of precision, some artists you can hear them breath, you hear nothing, so they are doing breath control for that. And every note is sung with precision and accuracy.
And while I think they might have been nervous, they also have over 10 years of experience of performing live and delivering basically every single time. With very very few problems/exceptions.
    Love seeing it...

Every time I see this I am amazed she can just walk up to a mic and just do this, it is as if to her singing comes as naturally as speaking does to the rest of us inferior mortals. It must be a dream to work with her in the studio

That ease is the result of a lifetime of work. Su is a good as she is because she worked for it. Talent only takes you so far; effort gets you the rest of the way.

Once again Sumetal shows us what an exceptional vocalist she is. She's always powerful, but here she shows remarkable subtlety and technical skill.

Su had said that she stepped away from music during the hiatus. She saw things through to the 10 year anniversary, and it was lightly insinuated that she considered moving in a different direction after. But she said she loves BabyMetal, so now she wants to purely enjoy the music. Which indicates to me that they are moving more in the direction of making the music Su wants to perform. And Su of course would want to perform songs that showcase her talent. And that's fine with me. There's no BabyMetal without Su. As much as she's come to love and appreciate metal, she's a pop singer by training and probably preference. I mean, a lot of these songs, they've been sitting on for years. But that doesn't mean they were finished. They were just written and partially produced. I think in finishing them, there was an effort to include the girls' preferences, and this album is probably more reflective of their personal tastes than previous ones. It's all speculation, of course. BabyMetal plays everything so close to the chest.

    • @chrisharris1522
      @chrisharris1522 ปีที่แล้ว +3

She also said she was practising up to 10 hours per day during the hiatus, so I guess it all depends on the interview and translation

There is no babymetal without su, yes. but there is also no babymetal without the metal part. It would be sad to lose Babymetal as a group and Su and Moa just go on to make the Suzuka pop band, but it would be worse for them to drop the metal and claim the name without being metal anymore. They worked their ass off to get respect in the metal industry and if they altered the band too much, it would make any future new bands of similar uniqueness that much harder. it would be the "they're just studio poser bands like Babymetal was" arguments rise up.
It would be better for Su to either commit, or leave and start a pop rock band honestly. I would still listen to her if she made some good songs. Just don't..ruin what Babymetal accomplished.

@@robxsiq7744 Or they could just continue to do what they want to do and not give a shit about people trying to pigeon hole them

In the recent interviews, Su reiterated that Babymetal is and will always be a metal band at its core. But that doesn't mean they won't go in unexpected creative directions sometimes. They also said that The Other One is. 'gaiden' or side story, so I don't think we should read too much into it being indicative of a broader change in direction.

All I know is from the video of this year's concert. We can see Su-metal smiling and jumping excitedly and happily on stage from time to time. We can see how excited she is to be on stage and enjoy the latest and classic BabyMetal songs with the audience. We can see a happy Su on stage.

Enjoying your reacts as you are not just a fanboy. You are considering each song on its merits. Luv the T'shirt! You gotta clean the lens on your camera or focus it a bit better :) Otherwise keep on doin your thing! I will be watching more of your reacts!! BTW.. not sure I have seen you just listen so quietly to a song without comment.. Nice one dude! Ohh.. 'The First Take' is a unique channel designed to exclusively showcase the singing talents of performers without the band and production.. Simply a piano accompaniment. It's not a babymetal focused channel. There are sooo many beautiful performances on the channel. I'm sure you have worked this out by now...

Fully agree. Suzuka is a beautiful voice. insane talent. But I've been feeling this way for awhile. It feels they are ditching the metal part of the babymetal, and well, they aren't kids anymore so the baby bit doens't really fit. Its becoming the Suzuka band and honestly, that sucks. This song is amazing, Su is amazing, but I miss the intense furious power of the Kamis, the clash of the aggression with Su's clear piercing voice, etc.
That in my opinion made BM unique and my favorite. They are trying new things and thats cool..I am just not sure its for me, and I've been part of this fox hole since they debuted in red tutu's screaming Resistance as the Kamis stood beside them slaying the beats.
