I love videos like this. We need more brutal honesty these days, calling people out for their bs. If someone's putting a $200 price tag on a $50 bourbon, they deserve to be called out. Keep it up.
I got briefly caught up on the bourbon hunting addiction but glad to say I'm 2 weeks clean now. I'll check for a 107 so I can make a PMP and I'll ask for Weller's at retail and check around for bourbons but chasing anything on secondary....nope. I've got a stable of delicious bourbons that are both affordable and available. After tasting (what my wife called a disturbingly large number of bourbons) I'm down to OF 100 for the 'daily' and OF Prohibition, Larceny, Four Roses Single barrel, or Cooper's Craft Barrel Reserve as the basic group. I'll slip in an OG 114 or 1792 once in a while and slip a newby in once in a while. Cheers....
I have all of those and in general agree... The Crown Peach was a surprise for me this year - grabbed two at like $45... mix it 3/4 Crown to 1/4 Tea and it is a summer pool drinker... surprised the hell out of me
This is a put on right? Crown royal Peach?! This is currently available in over 600 stores in Alberta, Canada. Hilarious that this causes lineups in the US. Wow.
@@paulbovis1277 I guess that just goes to show how messed up whiskey allocation really is. Some places cant find eagle rare or buffalo trace yet in CA we have it in Target but cant get Early Times BIB anywhere in the state.
I drove two hours from home to an LCBO that had nine bottles of Weller 107. I arrived an hour after the store opened and someone had purchased them all as soon as the store opened. Luckily, I was able to buy one online 75 CND.
With the exception of Blanton's, I can find the rest of the bottles at my local store across the street from my apartment (Southern California). I don't have to hunt for the bottles, I have to hunt for income to afford these bottles. BTAC, Old Fitz, OF Birthday, EC 18 and 23, all those for way more than I can afford. I was stoked to find EC BP for 65 at a different store since that's the cheapest I've seen those go for. To me, hunting for something "different" or a unique release from a local distillery is more fun than staring at George T Stagg with a $799 price tag on it.
My grandfather always put peaches in wine so I thought I would try them in bourbon and it was good. The peaches suck up a lot of the bourbon but boy do they taste good. As I generally enjoy my bourbon neat, I frozen peaches for the bottles that I am not thrilled about.
I found an unmarked Weller 12 in a local, popular, well-run liquor store a few years back. It was the last of its kind on the shelf. I asked the clerk what they were asking, he went to the back room to get the boss, and when he returned... $27.99. As near as I can tell, they thought it was a bottle of Reserve. Needless to say, I actually drank it instead of sitting on it. You can't beat a value 😂
I thought weller 12 was a great whiskey the last time I had it.....7 years ago when it sold for $20. I wouldn't touch it at it's current price. It was an excellent bargain at that price, but nowhere near a $100 bottle.
Got my Blanton's Gold for 90-100. I'm definitely happy with it at that price. It's certainly not worth more than that. I'm looking for STFB. Here's to luck... 🥃
I’d have to agree with all of this. I’m a HUGE Booker’s fan, especially the beatin biscuits and country ham. Is actually grab these at $80-$90 all day over the little book.
Crown Royal Peach is available all over the place near me (Ontario, Canada) for $32 Canadian (maybe $20 USD). I've not gone down the Rye rabbit hole. Is this worth getting at that price? Or is a regular (non fruit flavored) rye a better option?
Some strong contenders for sure. My 2 disagreements: EC18: I find that I like the strong oak that a lot of people find off-putting. Just wish it was a tad higher proof but still enjoy. SFTB: oh man this is one bottle that tempts me even at secondary pricing. My 136 proof bottle is simply amazing.

Good one .a bit disagree with blanton’s straight from barrel . Its a great sipping dram and far better than EH taylor small, single barrel , barrel proof . Better than some GTS releases . Around 150$ would be fair for that . Unfiltered , uncut , non chill filtered straight from barrel . U can even see some charcoal sediments when u pour in glass n see through bright light which makes it more interesting . many bourbons are barrel proof but go through filter process which separate these char sediments but blanton’s straight from barrel is pure directly from barrel just the way how master distiller tastes it direct from barrel thats what u gonna get to try urself . Its great bourbon with even high proof u don’t need to add any water at all , its that much smooth to drink neat . Its delicious with right amount of oak , nutty , bold , sweetness and long finish making u drink more from the bottle . I simply love it . I know many would not agree but that’s fine . If u wanna spend 300-500$ on weller , GTS or EH taylor i suggest u don’t buy them . better get a bottle of blanton’s straight from barrel for $150-$200 it’s worth that price but don’t pay more than that . If u can’t find at that price don’t bother much and buy Rare breed or ECBP or stagg jr (all $50-$70) which are well worth every cent . Keep hunting , good luck
I was gifted a bottle of the Elijah Craig 18 Single Barrel and its delicious. That being said its not several hundred dollars delicious and I'll never buy one for myself. But I have not a single complaint about the whiskey itself.

The Old Fitz is hitting VA this week, going for $89.99 and the Crown Peach isn't hard to find here, our ABC stores were getting 70-100 bottles, and retail is $31.99.
Yeah man, It hit NC about 2 weeks ago. I was lucky to get a bottle for $89.99. I don't see how you pass up that bottle for that price. Period. If you can get any of those bottles (maybe except for Little Book) at MSRP, I think you have to buy it. Especially if you don't have one.
The weller 12 is the sexiest label tho... I recently lost my weller 12 and EC18 wife returned them when I was out of work and for some reason those are the two I miss the most I think when they throw tht age statement on there it does it for me...
Just now seeing this video, and you said crown peach for $50-$70!?!?!? Damn, and here I was debating the other day if I wanted another bottle for $21 lol. I like it, but maybe just once a year.

I’ve been able to find Crown Peach easily for $35. Should have stocked up and flipped it. It’s a great summer cocktail mixer but shook my head at the hype around it. It’s Peach Whiskey, it’s good but just buy Jim Beam Peach. Not AS good but only $20 and can find it anywhere they sell Jim Beam.
I've bookended this list with EC18(found, not hunted and "on sale") and CR Bourbon Mash, that I hear they got in trouble over. Haven't seen any of the others here in PNW.
What about if you stumble across some of those at MSRP? I just picked up the latest release of Old Fitz (9 yr) for MSRP / $90. I totally agree with what you guys are saying, but if you haven't had any of those bottles and can get one for MSRP I think it is worth paying for one bottle. The only one to maybe "try before you buy" would be Little Book. Thoughts?
@@BourbonJunkies Totally agree with the juice not being worth $90. It's good but not $90. I put it in the same category as Kentucky Owl Rye. Oh the days when Blantons SFTB was going for 130-140 on the secondary. Speaking of off profile whiskeys. I had the literal worst bottle of Blanton’s a couple years ago. Got it from a big store in town for regular retail price. It tasted like sour apple juice. So odd.
i had a blantons SFTB for over 2 years because it was so hard to get through. it was a huge waste of money. Blantons gold is by far the tastiest of the bunch.

crazy that crown royal peach is $26 in my area :]
Oh the days when Blantons SFTB was going for 130-140 on the secondary. Speaking of off profile whiskeys. I had the literal worst bottle of Blanton’s a couple years ago. Got it from a big store in town for regular retail price. It tasted like sour apple juice. So odd.
Blanton's..where u work and bottle daily..alot of craft goes into each bottle..
I, not you..sorry, fat thumbs
i had a blantons SFTB for over 2 years because it was so hard to get through. it was a huge waste of money. Blantons gold is by far the tastiest of the bunch.
In NC we have state run liquor stores and they suck.
Elijah 18 is $225 in NM
It's so not worth it
Crown Royal Peach is everywhere in Kansas City.
Hello from Philly
What do you guys think of Tatoosh?
Never heard of it actually
@@BourbonJunkies it is one of my favorites. But it has to be Tatoosh Whiskey. Their rye is not my favorite.
Crown Peach $24.99 in every Wal-Mart in LA. You literally trip on the display setups, they are overflowing!
Crown Peach is the Four Loco or Boone’s Farm of whiskey.
$26 in Dallas!
Looks like I have to go hunting for that peach now !
Peach will disappoint if you think it will be as good as the apple. Save time , blend peach schnapps into crown for same taste
Good list. I fully expected to see ORVW on here as the 7th, that threw me for a loop lol
Too obvious!
