Her original multipliers were higher in the jp trailer, but with a slower fire rate, would you say that counts as "false advertising" ? Or was the community supposed to assume the "may be subject to change" in the 5 days or less until the anniversary ? Also, the testing in the trailer was with a mediocre/not optimal team comp, yet the damage from RH already looked decent. Is it safe to assume that her higher damage was simply due to higher original multipliers and not because of "potential" boss weaknesses that make the character look good for the hype ?

Your experimentation process is top notch, subbed
your analysis of nikke characters is the best and most well-done out of all the content creators without question. You do in-depth standardized testing and calculations, and you have a method of logical method of testing to calculate how the character can perform in various scenarios/levels/investments/team combos. You explain your findings very well even for newer players to understand and highlight important breakpoints and conclusions. you also have so much underlying knowledge of the game mechanics and interactions that you can highlight a lot of useful info that is not obvious to newer players. everyone else seems to be just going on their feelings with their random current roster against a random boss/random story stage/shooting range so much more random outcome. what you are doing is really invaluable for the community and it is always amazing to learn from your videos. hope you feel better soon and thank you again for creating such amazing content!!! great work & much appreciated :)

The problem is the JP live stream demo of RH, *disclaimer first I do know that whatever is shown as long as it is the beta version is legally and all within the rights of the developers to make changes prior to release*
Now that said still the JP stream demo would still technically count as false advertisement because it was so misleading in so many ways.
They released a demo wherein RH looked like:
1. A really broken DPS
2. Has versatility unlike anything we've seen before.
Then they released RH like:
1. Way underpowered compared to the demo her damage even when her attack speed is faster is still significantly way lower than what they showed.
2. Her "versatility" was just a gimmick, plain and simple due to the fact that she can only do a solo full burst once per battle and afterwards she'll be relegated to a basic B1,B2 or B3, if players decide to use her as either B1 or B2 her versatility goes down the drain because they'd need another B1 or B2 that would cover her long as* CD. Then if players decide to use her as B3 then like in stated in the video her damage is good but ain't top tier.
So in a way this was Shift Up's fault they weren't careful on how they presented RH, they've set a complete false expectation to their player base from the get go.

Hey, if you guys are disappointed with Red Hood, please send as much feedback as you can. Use the customer service contact function in the game (just report it as a technical issue maybe) and post on their social media pages.
If enough people make noise about this, they can still update her kit/numbers to be better.

@@rezie9247 I didn't have game breaking expectations like most people. I think a special anniversary unit should be at least as good as Modernia and Scarlet who have been in the game since basically Day 1. I don't need her to be in some new SSS+ tier, I just think she should be S-tier like these year-old units, not A-tier.
Having a special anniversary unit be worse than S-tiers that have been in the game since pretty much the beginning sets a bad precedent imo. That's not good for the game long term. Money is what keeps this game going; people need incentive to break out their wallets and spend. And making a special unit like Red Hood only "decent/good" instead of "great" is not great incentive for spending. A "bench"/team 2 unit is not great incentive for spending. I was ready to whale out and Core +7 Red Hood, but now, not so much.

My idea was a thing like Doro, Dolla, Poli and Vesti
The idea is to always have 10 sec atk% buff and i belive Doro+Dolla can give the cd to burst in time even with vesti, so in a rotation you have the buff from RH and in the next the one from Poli

Can someone help me pls? i got 1 pilgrim visor +5 but im not sure if i should OL it for redhood or Haran. I got an lb2 Maxwell but no Alice so my range dmg is kinda weak. Plan to use 1 of them for story prog (currently at 21-18 only) and sp arena.
Can we test RH as a support point of view?

On bosses, if you use her as b3, she seems to keep up with modernia/scarlet. Even if she is a bit behind, the versatile burst is super nice. She seems like a great unit, peoples expectations for her were just too high thinking she would be the most busted unit ever
Tbh I’m sorta glad they nerfed her (tho I think 60% is a bit harsh). I don’t want power creep to be overbearing

They nerf her a lot cuz a lot of them saw her damage is doing insane then when she came out her damage suddenly become ass so everyone been asking her to bring back old rh or just buff her burst damage
I might have missed it but how are we supposed to use Red Hood's burst? Only go for burst 3 and ignore then B1 and B2? And have her burst first and Maxwell second?
You can use Red Hood as B1 once then B3 then afterwards just go B3 all the time. Unless if it's Dorothy, then you can just always use Dorothy if the boss has parts. RH first before MW but you might change it depending on the fight.
2 questions:
1) without modernia, Liter/Bunnies/Alice/RH? When I use Maxwell+SW elsewhere and there is no need for other boss specific nikke
2) my SW is rather low, was next to be upgraded. Would RH+MW be better then SW+MW (benching SW for now completely)?
team 1 works fine.
RH has more flexibility than SW but does require more investment. SW doesn't need skill manuals while RH need them. Both SW and RH need burst manuals.
How would you compare Red Hood with 2B? I have 2B maxed out, and with how scarce the resources are, I might reset my 2B just to build RH.
2b is very good. They are more or less on the same league, 2b might even be a tad bit better.

I'm not disappointed, RH versatility alone makes her pretty good not just pure damage
Her biggest selling point. She has no downside as a DPS like Alice. Scarlet is risky. Modernia has 15sec Burst. Snow White has bad energy regen. Maxwell doesn't have as much damage. Summer Anis can't be with ammo increasing units. 2B needs unconventional supports. A2 needs healing. Guillotine can't have healers. This is the first top tier DPS ever since Alice that has no downside to her so she is at the top of my rankings because of it.
@@skyjlvHer downside is that her damage is quite poor and that her gimmick burst chain can only be used once. Her Burst 1 is by far her best burst but lacks CD reduction which makes her clunky as a support wannabe, not counting that she's 40 sec cd

Well you can call her mid if you use mid as how it's described in urban dictionary where they say something along the lines "mid is used as insult for something what is below expectations" it wasn't described like that but pretty close

Is she good for campaign. I'm at chapter 21-30 and I haven't invested into alice yet. Can she be used in later chapters as well? That's the only thing that I really care is if I can use her for campaign lol

For the most part, campaign is game of number, so if you have high CP you should be fine most of the time. With RH now having rate up + tons of free pulls, if you can get her core+ more than your usual campaign unit, then yes she deserve a spot in your team since it will bump up your CP.
My team is core 3 of privaty, core 3 of dorothy, mlb centi, 1 star scarlet and 1 star modernia. Can she be sub for anyone there? I also have mlb alice but have not invested in her yet.
@@joshuamiguelcruz9703 I think for now you pull RH using all the free stuff and save crystals, wait until the banner almost over, if you are lucky and can get her to 1 or 2 star then you might consider MLB her using ur crystal savings, and replace modernia/scarlet (depends on which have better skill level/OL gear) with MLB RH to push the story.
If you want to be more conservative, pull only using the daily free pulls and save tickets as well until the last few days of the banner.
Btw, consider replacing modernia(assuming you have not invested too much) with MLB smol snow white since she is free.

I already pulled RH from the free 10 tickets this day so I'm just contemplating of mlb-ing her since I also saved about 1200 golden tickets for anniversary event. Lastly, since this banner also has increased rate for pilgrim units, is it worth it to keep pulling for other pilgrims? I am missing snow white and rapunzel from the pilgrims.

No. You need maxwel with RH or SW.
I mean you can run them together but you lose around 30~ 40% dps

thats what i was hoping when i tried to MLB redhood, that even if she wasnt as broken as she initially seemed, i could maybe get a scarlet, or dorothy or something. but nope. almost 70k gems down the drain, i got 1 copy of redhood, like 4 dupes of some random ssr nikkes, nothing good. the next best thing was volume from the high quality mold i got from pulling. i wanna quit lmao

@@niajef Most anniversary banners in gacha games I've played usually have a double rate of their normal banners. I was sprt of disappointed that Nikke didn't do that.

p sure he mentions something like "its good to pair them since maxwell doesn't have high attack
They can work well together if it's a boss that you can take advantage of pierce (e.g. blacksmith/stormbringer). Their different element typing also makes them usually not ideal to be together (rather would pair Alice with Modernia (fire) and RH with Maxwell (iron)). But in cases of you only need 1 team (nonSR/nonUR), then I think it's fine.

For those who are concerned about the sustainability of the game because people won't pull new units anymore since there is no meta defining unit released recently. Let's not jump to conclusion yet and wait for the monthly revenue report for November. After then, we can then have more discussion about it. For now, enjoy the little things the anniversary brought you, cute stuff like commander annual reports, stories, etc etc.

What do you mean no meta defining unit released recently ? We just had Tia and naga and they are literally the best core support by far, and make alice/maxwell even more broken.
It's a good thing for me that the game doesn't release broken unit every patch that completly powercreep anyone else. People are going to spend for Redhood even if she's a 7/10 instead of a 10/10.
@@Sekkizan Well I personally agree with you. Howeer, small amount of people seems to make a quick conclusion that they don't have to pull any other unit if they have Alice/Modernia/Scarlet. And seemingly worried about the future of Nikke, hence why I told them to wait until November monthly revenue release and then make their own conclusion.
@@rhenosamizuno2517 I think you guys care too much about monthly revenue, you should look at yearly instead to see the health of a game. Of course some banner are going to release better unit or more hyped unit, some month will go up 50% and other down 30%, that's how it is.
Shift up as a company grew up 5 time bigger since the beginning of nikke, they are doing fine.
A lot of people skipped blanc/noir, or tia & naga because they were saving up for the ultra broken dps unit, now they are screwed up.
Majority of people summing for cute and decent nikkes …. Game is still doing well Meta gaming is a small %

@@niajef bruh the once per battle is literally the -40cd cooldown on her B1,B2 of her B3..so literally can burst 1 and 2 every cycle(tanky af+solid team buff) as a single unit while having 4 other B3.
You will only get her to be in 40sec cooldown if you use her B3 in her B3..literally can cycle 1 and 2 with no CD if she get -40cd everytime.
Note that she give 77.5% dmg buff for 10sec vs Liter with 66% just for 5 sec.As a B1

Why in JP Livestream lvl200 Red Hood can easily hit 1.3Mil-1.8Million Damage without any support?
But now, when lvl 200-300 player hardly reach 1 Million damage even after using Top Tier support.
Why Shift Up show Red Hood very broken in JP Livestream then suddenly Nerf her so much after release?
In the live stream, her shooting speed in burst 3 was much lower than in live though

Would you make a case for RH being more of a support unit with her attack buff than say a main dps cause so many are using her as a dps. I think she acts more like a flex unit on the team than a hyper carry. Though not an ideal team comp but been trying her out with Liter & been seeing some pretty good results paired with a true main dps carries like Scarlet & Modernia. RH even though it's on a 40sec cooldown the attack buff she provides is quite hefty. I don't know i don't see RH as a main dps, i see her more like a Drake or Privaty type unit.
I have yet to see content creators use her as a support character & compare her buffs to other supports. The attacker class she has is sort of blinding players on her other uses.
The reason why you haven't seen it is because it's not great.
For starters, while the attack buffs is high, it's a 40cd and that in itself is a problem. At that point she's just a better Poli, being a better Poli isn't a high bar.
Secondly, by doing that she is now competing with other bursts ones, who will you replace her for? Liter? Dorothy? Miranda? Tia? She performs worse in practice as a support than all other meta burst ones, so again, why? Even Volume would still see more use due to her BCR. Burst 1 is such a hyper inflated slot that she can't compete. Notably all those other units bring other support options, where as RH only has her attack buff. On top of which, being a 40CD means you have to bring another burst 1, effectively making your team weaker. Once again it's the Poli problem.
Finally, and the most obvious point, as of right now, in terms of universal usage RH is tied for 3rd strongest DPS in the game with S. Anis and Scarlet,situationally being better than both of them. Most of her damage comes from her burst. Intentionally not bursting with her is throwing her main usage, damage, away. Why would anyone do that...
If you need to make some sort of argument for usage of Mid Hood, then don't pull her, easy. I didn't reroll for Scarlet or Modernia, i only have Alice so auto friendly Alice jr. for the same team or for different team in raids and whatnot is amazing deal for me. I don't know when will the most broken unit of them all be released or when i'll get Modernia/Scarlet, so i invested in Mid Hood and i'm not dissapointed, she's also quite an asset visualwise so it's a win-win for me.

@@waifuhunter9709 i'm calling her Mid Hood because it's funny, do you think i would actually spend 200 rolls on her if i thought that she's mid? Bruh.
she doesn't work as a flex because she relies on her burst to do damage and does not give continual teamwide buffs every burst rotation (buff on her burst skill only triggers when she bursts and on 40 sec CD). if you flex her without burst, she loses a lot of her DPS. Flex DPS like Noir, Privaty, Drake will give buffs despite not bursting. Another flex example of Modernia still keeps her DPS output without bursting.

I tired of hearing “it’s ok that red hood isn’t that good”, because it is not ok. Everything about Red Hood is suppose to be special. That’s why they released her as the anniversary character. Even as a burst 1,2,3 unit, which is special, she doesn’t really shine in any of those roles when compared to other units. A unit that can do everything worst than other units isn’t really worth much. Especially when her burst is on a 40sec cooldown and for some reason I need 3 burst 3 units to enter full burst every-time (I don’t understand why that is). If there’s ever a time to release a “broken” character, the anniversary is the time to do it. She should be at least top 3 best unit, in terms of damage, since she’s an attacker. But instead we got Modernia, Scarlet, and Alice doing more dmg then her. And I don’t think her 40cd attack buff makes up for it (we know her taunt doesn’t make up for it either). It just makes team building more complicated. I feel like I’m forcing her to work in a team comp. With Red Hood, I need a b1, b2, and two more b3. Because I can’t get Red Hood to burst in every other rotation, which makes her unreliable. Red Hood is without a doubt, the most controversial character, and we all know, that should defiantly not be the case. Red Hood is not just “another unit”. She should have a big positive impact for players, but now she is causing a negative impact for players.

Unlike Modernia and Scarlet RedHood is currently on rate up, granted it's low, but still better than randomly rolling hoping to get a top tier Pilgrim.
And all that still ignores that "Mid" doesn't work for a nearly top tier DPS
@@someguy6152 So how long will it take to find another unit to kick RH out from the team? The full investment period of a character in the game is so long, while a 1st anniversary pilgrim with 1% pickup rate can be only filled in the third or even fourth team. You don't want powercreeping units coming up, but they will. This is the rule of such kind of games.

Plus I don't really get why RedHood needs high investment, if compared to other high investments than yes, all units require high investment to be at maximum efficiency, people aren't comparing RedHood to a 4/4/4 Modernia or Scarlet.
RedHood requires less investment than Alice, who she is being compared to the most.
More specifically to manual Alice, which isn't exactly fair since it requires *very* high investment and micromanagement, or a macro.
And is by far the best DPS if used manually.
Which from Sky's extensive tests manual Alice requires perfect micromanagement to be at peak efficiency, which is impossible on phone and not possible for most none hardcore gamers, even slightly slower and her damage output goes down by roughly 20%
With all that said, I would love it if she got buffed and became the definitive top tier.
I just don't think that she's as bad as people make it out to be.
Also as a side note, Summer Anis is top tier, but she's a seasonal charecter, so if someone missed her it's one more charecter off the table out of all top tiers

Well, Alice only wins when you use Macro or have a really good hand and kinda maxed her. Under normal conditions Scarlet and Modernia still stronger

I've seen the conversation on TH-cam or Reddit regarding Red Hood, and I think people need to work on their wording better. Red Hood is not better than Alice, I can accept that. But to call her mid? Come on. If the 3 meta DPS, Alice, Scarlet and Modernia are 9.5 or more, Red Hood is still 9 (for now). That's still far than mid. The real mid characters are the one who only have one good niche and underperforming on anywhere else or the one who did average in every content (Ex: Brid,Soline,Julia,Yulha, etc. you can name it more).
I think people are disappointed because she was over-hyped on TH-cam and other media, and she didn't game breaking as we thought. I think Red Hood is easier on mobile than Alice does and it's enough for me. I need to activate the auto aim (and burst) and then tap tap the screen for faster charge. I can't play manually on PC because my laptop sucks and playing on phone is my best bet.
I hope that this chaotic conversation doesn't ruin everyone's anniversary enjoyment and stop anyone for pulling for her. In the end gacha games are meant to be enjoyable for every player, not competitive like e-sports games where everything can change in one patch. Even competitiveness in Nikke is mostly for title rather than rewards, like additional 3000 gems that top players can buy anytime if they want and faster to get the currency to upgrade cubes and liberation units.
But if Alice, Scarlet, and Modernia are all better than Red Hood, then we're never going to use RH except dumping her in secondary teams for solo raid, right?

I feel like these types of videos should be looking at it from the perspective of someone with normal RNG and isn't a whale, e.g. someone who doesn't have Scarlet or Modernia. I don't have either after half a year and I'm not even F2P. Secondly, I feel like only auto and normal manual play should be considered. Anything that relies on macros etc. should be ignored (many compare them to Alice)

I regret RH I feel like they scammed us by changing her kit and not telling us they changed her kit and nerfed her. @aresrivera9744 There is no precedent that the anni character was going to be the best of the best. In fact, the half anni character set the opposite. Dorothy is objectively worse than Liter in just about every situation and also needs Privaty. No one complains about her because she's still a phenomal unit. RedHood is in the same camp. Modernia and Alice are cracked, but being basically right under them is still pretty good. She's got no downsides either and has versatility. I'm failing to see your grevience. Also, her multibursting works fine. You're looking for ways to make her mid when she's not. Temper your expectations and stay away from hype monsters.

I am with you bud. I am the collector type so would rather most units be useful rather than obsolete too quickly due to the constant stream of OP units popping out. Also, I am F2p so having to MLB each new OP unit too quickly would be a no no for me.
For the hardest content, we still need 5 whole teams and 3 good teams for pvp. She wouldn’t powercreep the whole game even if they increased her damage.

She literally can fit most teams, help u dealing dmg while can act as tank herself. Of her dmg also best in game it qould be broken af.
I also think Shift Up gearing this character towards new players, which is a business move, and kinda make sense. It caters new players so they can self sustain and push story while having limited characters.
