Has the "Sengoku" before the hara something to do with the time period? It looks awfully crowded for a simple path through the fields otherwise.

Sorry for my late reply. "Sengoku" of the time period can write "戦国”" in Kanji, but on the other hand, this "Sengoku" is "仙石". I'm not sure what is it derived from...

As for this Sengokuhara It's really rare to see so many Japanese silver grasses in one place like this so I guess that's the reason people come here to see them. Local people burn this field every year to keep the silver grasses to continue to grow.
