hey man, would the M340i be a safer buy in your opinion? i really want the V8, but im worried about the marginally less gas mileage and reliability of the N63TU3. everyone and their mom has a B58 tho… decisions decisions
@@no.mids.brando the N63TU3 is by far the most reliable variant of the N63 and I’ve heard no issues at all with it. Also makes very good power with simple bolt on’s I would take it over a B58 any day of the week
@ i keep hearing the M550i feels big and ppl on the bimmerpost were even calling it a boat; does it feel nimble? i’m gonna have to end up test driving both truth be told
Your car roasts the rear wheels because the clutches in the xfer case are destroyed. That’s 10k. I work at bmw and own one of these. If you have any issue with your front diff or front cvs the transfer case does not know it and still pushes at full power.
@@the_first_resort940 I replaced the axle and replaced all the fluids in the car, diff, transmission and transfer case and when I replaced the transfer case I did not see any metal flakes at all. Also after replacing the axle my car drives like it’s brand new and pulls the same way it used to
Could you point me in the direction of what part number or website to buy the new axle? My mechanic said I have an axle leak and I’m not sure what to do about it. Thanks!
If its just starting to leak and no dirt or water has entered the boot, you can judt replace the boot. The oem axels for our m550s are over $1000 new@Japanesesilk
@@Sonin66thank you for your response! Do you know what website I should use to buy a boot? How do I know if I need to replace the axle or just the boot?
@Japanesesilk if your axel is clicking or popping, if there is dirt or water inside boot, you will need a new one. Your mech should be able to do the job. As for boot recommendations, I'd go for oem if they made them. See if fcp or ecs has any
@@Sonin66i forgot to put a photo in this video with how the axle looks and what caused it. I have a short on my page that has a video of the axle and wheel bearing where it completely grinded off and apart. I think Full bolt on garage has a video on axels on the g30
What’s your current mileage bro? Start putting your current mileage. I’m at 102,555 roughly and no major issues. Regular maintenance

i had to replace my 2 axles on my M550i 2 months ago. that clunk is no joke, but once you fix it the car is beautiful to drive again
