Honestly, Martin and Serana are by far the most fitting to the role of "Secondary Protagonist" They both have their own character arcs and the story is more about them than the main protagonist. Martin about stepping up in his new and sudden role as the last Dragonborn emperor and Serana in finally breaking free of her family and constantly being used as a piece in their game in some prophecy none of them even really understand.
To be brutally honest, Martin is less of a secondary protagonist and more of the main protagonist. It's his story, it's his ascension to emperor and his mantling of Akatosh, it's the CoC, the player who's playing second fiddle to all this the whole time.
I shiver in anticipation for Lord Dagoth's sermon ranking each spell in Skyrim (anniversary edition). Only a Dunmer god, nay, the Sharmat, can truly do this list justice. It would honor the Sixth House and the Tribe Unmourned for such a sermon. Only Master Wizard Neloth, of House Telvanni, could come even close to the glory that such a ranking could obtain. Oh, what a grand and intoxicating innocence.
I know this risks the wrath of Lord Dagoth but I must humbly disagree with him on one point. Vivec is not a secondary protagonist of Morrowind. He, along with Almalexia and Sotha Sil, are the primary antagonists of Morrowind. Turning the reborn Nerevar against his greatest General and most loyal friend, Lord Dagoth Ur. Glory to the 6th House and to the Tribe Unmourned.
A great sermon as always! And if I had to name anyone the secondary protagonist of The Elder Scrolls: Arena, I would have to say it was Ria Silmane. While her big thing was acting as the Eternal Champion's guide and fashioning a ruby key for him to escape the Imperial Dungeon, I feel like her ties to Jagar Tharn through being his former student, as well as the friend of the Eternal Champion, guiding him all the way up to the Imperial Palace, I've always felt that Ria Silmane deserves the title of Arena's secondary protagonist.
Let me first pay homage to the sixth house and the tribe unmourned. Praised be to the all powerful Dagoth! Could you please tell us who the best N’wah is? Also who your favourite piece of farm equipment is?
I cannot wait to find Serena. She's going to be my next follower. I'm sad to say that I think I am not honoring the 6th house and the tribe unmourned because I also like Hermaeus Mora
Lord Dagoth in your infinite wisdom could you do a review of the mongrel N'wah dogs of the Empires "The Elder Scrolls Cookbook" and tell us which recipes honour the Sixth House and the Tribe Unmourned. So us sleepers may consume the correct food?
Not Lord Dagoth, but I can tell you that the kwama egg quiche and baked ash yams are most likely going to be the only ones that meet the strict criteria, as most of the dishes are nord N’wah dishes. They also have the gall to include a bosmer meat dish.
Perhaps a discussion of the rulers of the various Cyrodilic Empires, from Alessia to Titus Mede II, for a future sermon. Or a ranking of Dragon Shouts?
"Or in farm-tool terms.." Lord Dagoth Ur, known as Voryn Dagoth in life, Awakened Lord of the Sixth House, Lord Dagoth, and Father of the Mountain you really know the perfect things to say during your glorious sermons. Thank you for this grand and intoxicating sermon
Pretty nice reviews, guys. Now, I can rate how anno- I mean, memorable, fulfilling adventures with these secondary characters before playing the games. Edit2 : BTW, what is the background noise in 21:37-21:39? An Akaviri sound brought by whim of fate and through crack of dimension?
forgive my speaking out of turn Lord Dagoth, but I believe that some of these characters fit more of a supporting cast role rather than secondary protagonist. Martin Septim and Baurus are more secondary protagonists than Jauffre. Baurus is with you at the start, escorting the Imperial Dog, Uriel; and is along with you a handful of the main quests. Byrd in Bruma also does more than Jauffre, coming alongside you into an Oblivion Gate and closing it. Along with that, I’d consider Serana the only other true secondary protagonist, being with you from the start of Dawnguard to its end, the game not allowing you to dismiss her until the end of the questline Most of the other people only provide objectives and things that you need to do, rarely dirtying their own hands.
That's something new, a plain-ish object that you can't tell holds someone's soul just by pointing at it and reading the description text. Taking notes, Todd?
I always find it interesting when I watch a video to see what sponsor TH-cam pairs with video. Today Dagoth Ur is brought to us by the mongrel dogs at Pizza Hut. Come and look upon the new Heart of Lorkhan Pan Pizza.
Uncle Sweetshare will be visiting me. Seremon about drugs would be a lot of help, lord Dagoth. I suspect this cheap n'wah is adding spriggan sap to dilute the final product.
The Agent keeps the totem and causes Numidium to wreak havoc across mongrel dog ruled Tamriel, this is the best ending because it cost a whole lot of mongrel dog lives to stop it
The post killing of Alduin, was such a let down, you win and the two nerds show up, kill the guy that saved everyone or we won't be your friend... Um yeah I have news for you.
I just leave those two alone in that cold, empty temple, it brings me great joy just imagining them sitting there saying to themselves that my player character is surely on his/her way back to the temple and just got distracted slaying another wild dragon or helping someone with something
Putting the red outline of the text so close to the bottom of the video makes it look like the red bar that shows watch time on the app, and so I skip it thinking I've already seen it.
Lord Dagoth Ur, you truly should have been the real protagonist with your own ending, but the unreliable narratives blame you for wrongdoings and only "remember" your "falls" by Nerevar, hopefully only temporarily.
I just finished the main quest of Morrowind for the first time. My only regret is that they never finished the side quest to allow you to join the sixth house. Sorry I had to spank you with Sunder, daddy Dagoth. Also... is it just me, or does it feel like they stopped adding to the lore after Morrowind? After finally dipping my toes into TES III, Oblivion looks so... bland.
They actively began rolling the lore back. Old descriptions of Cyrodiil and the Imperial City sound more like "What if Europe was Southeast Asia?" The land is described as choked with jungle and sustained by numerous rice paddies. When Oblivion came around, Cyrodiil was a pretty generic D&D-style setting. Likewise, Skyrim was supposed to be an unforgiving wasteland plagued by werecreatures, where every major settlement was surrounded by walls and the minor settlements were perpetually nomadic not just to chase resources but due to being chased by monsters.
Nah, the lore is still there, in the same quantities as ever. It's just a bit more hidden. Which, at least to me, makes sense. If all of the deep lore was common knowledge, no civilization in Tamriel would be able to exist for long. Imagine if every edgy downer dude knew that Vaermina, Peryite, Namira, Mehrunes Dagon, Mephala and Molag Bal would be willing to destroy the world in exchange for worship?
I always think of the Emperor in Return of the Jedi and his line delivery on "oh, I'm afraid the shield generator will be quite operational when your friends arrive."
Speaking only for the howard games because those are the ones I'm familiar with but I think the idea of a secondary protagonist only really applies to Martin and Serena. Those two have arcs and do act as main character surrogates because they have more personal connection to the questlines they are a part of and the ability to speak. Caius isn't a secondary protagonist to me because he doesn't have anything resembling an arc and doesn't take on anything like a main character's role in the story.
I do wonder how he feels about the modded followers, like Xelzaz (I hope I spelt that right) a Lawman of the House Talvani who provides lots of lore and is great in combat (plus calls Delphine a bitch) not saying his race because I just wonder how Lord Dagoth would react to it unspoiled. Then there's Inigo, a modded blue Khajit who, like the Dragonborn, is a choosen one ment to fight something called the "Doom Strider" There's also Lucian, a nerdy scholar who goes literally from zero to hero as he travels with you. Sophia is...annoying drunkard who is a racist nord.
How is it that the PS1-level faces of the Redguard game are better than the nightmare fuel faces in Morrowind? A crunched, Hellish production in a company that was on fire and crumbling around the team can only explain this _partially..._
Make dagoth rank what elder scroll main character is the strongest Dragonborn killed alduin wich is an aspect of akatosh meaning he killed a lesser god The hero of kvatch killed gigalag (we are not counting what happens after the game ends cuz then he would be a deadric prince) The neravareen killed a God, and you cant kill a God its such a intoxicating inocence The agent (i kinda dont know much about daggerfall to be honest) The eternal champion killed the emperor battlemage (compared to the other not really impressive to be honest)
