    I took my KTM 250SX with FASST FLEXX handlebars for a first couple rides. These handlebars are very interesting product, definitely improved my ride a lot, my arm pump is reduced quite a bit and overall feel more control of the bike.

    I like this guy's positive/down to earth attitude. I raced motocross growing up but hadn't rode in years until last week when I finally bought a used RMZ450. These videos are great to help me pick up where I left off.

    They’re great! I had them on my 350 XCF and had to switch them over to my 300 XCW. The stock bars just felt too harsh and I had to grip the bars harder to keep the same control. They will definitely help with arm pump..it will allow you to go longer before the onset..it won’t stop arm pump, but delay it..think about that when racing or just riding long days..I use the softest dampers, green, and as Rado mentions, they move in the same direction as the fork, so you don’t “feel” them..they’re just an extension of your suspension..
    As far as who will get the most benefit?..yes “older” guys (I’m 58) will definitely like them..but any age who races or rides hard, they can really help..I can’t see any reason why riders wouldn’t like them, seriously..
    yup, they’re $350+ bucks and they’re 2 lbs heavier (big deal..not a concern) but if you would like to make your bike more compliant and manageable, help with your “death grip” on the bike, give them a try..if you don’t like them, I’ll buy them off you because I need another pair for my 350... 🙂

    I had the anti-vibration bar inserts installed with my Flexx bars and spent about 6 hours riding tight singletrack with them last weekend at Hollister Hills. I set them up with the softest elastomers from the get-go as I'm not jumping or riding hard. I'm not sure if it's the bars, the inserts or a combination of them both, but it totally cured the numbness I was getting from the 2 stroke vibrations. My hands were a little sore, but that was just due to clutching and braking constantly for 3 hours per day. I rode for about 12 hours at Foresthill a few months ago and had numbness in my right forearm for almost 2 weeks after the trip and was fearful that I'd have to give up 2 strokes. I can't say I've ever experienced "arm pump" as I'm never riding fast and have the need to grip the bars tightly, so I can't accurately gauge that. Younger riders who ride a lot and have the endurance built up may not feel the need for these bars, but they're incredibly helpful for us older riders. I highly recommend them.

    My new to me 2009 300 XC W came with them. They have the red bushings and the risers. I am only 5' 8" and I haven't even taken the bike out yet, but I'm concerned about the tall bars. You said you took the risers out and lowered them making me think I should do the same. The guy I bought the bike off of was a lot taller. One of my buddies noticed how tall they were right away and said he didn't like that. Probably just boils down to personal preference and I should ride it first.

    Rado,
    Do you think having the brush guards mounted behind the bar pivot impedes the designed movement? You should try it both with the guards and without and see if there is any difference. That aluminum bar has to add some stiffness or at least limit the articulation of the flex system.
    Good video.

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Phillip Bell I think it doesn't affect the way it works. It has been done specifically for these handlebars, they mount inside the pivot points, but I plan to test it on my MX bike, so the brush guards will be off. I will update you guys later.

    • @fasstcompanyinc4760
      @fasstcompanyinc4760 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The hand guard is anchored right to the pivot pin of the bar. The pivot pin is wrapped in a fiber igus bushing that more or less keeps the pin free floating. With the handguard anchored back to that pivot pin there's no binding of the bar and it's able to work as intended. We designed the hand guards with that (and hand guard angle) as our biggest priorities. Holler with any added questions or concerns, we're here to help and happy to do so. Thanks again!

    I've heard they are better for older bikes or betas. But when you get your suspension set up for you on these newer ktms 17-18 you don't need these bars because the bikes are just so good.

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      you definitely get to feel it more on older bikes with stiffer suspension. But I think you still notice big improvement with newer bikes as well, I am eager to test it on my wr450 with really nice suspension.

    • @brianh8484
      @brianh8484 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I rode a new 18 350xc last weekend with revalved suspension which the owner was super happy with. We were both about the same abilities and weight. We swapped bikes (I have a 16 FE 350) and you can feel the difference right away but you really notice if you have a long day on the bike or a 2-3 day weekend ride. I don’t think it matters what bike you have. Flexxbars just work. Especially if you only get to ride once or twice a month (or less). It’s like having the stock seat and then installing a nice comfy seat concepts seat or whatever brand. Your ass just feels better at the end of the day in the comfy seat. With my flexxbars I say the same about my wrists and hands at the end of the day.

    i'm 25 and I have a bad shoulder and i had no idea these existed. i think i'm going to buy them, especially since you responded saying they've held up after years! Have you ever dropped your bike with them on it? they seem like they might be a little bit more susceptible to bending from a drop, but for their price they better be the strongest ones available lol. If you get back to me within a couple days, you mentioned you sell these bars, but i'm curious: would I have to go through you or would I have to go through the manufacturer if i needed service or help?

    • @dirtniron

Try tightening your engine bolts to frame. In my case the bolts were loose and i tightened them with loctite
