    Very useful information for anyone interpreting CBC. Thank you.One comment: PLT goes down and is significant in Dx of Dengue fever and is also a marker of recovery when returns to normal. Patients with Dengue fever need admission and daily monitoring of PLT for bleeding. Severe cases need ICU admission.

    Suggestion: a better way of defining hematocrit is "the percentage of RBCs that make up a volume of blood." Hence why over-hydration leads to hemodilution. The definition in the video implies hematocrit is a ratio between RBCs and other blood cells.

      I think yes , like high level of stress and viral infection , but you could confirm from other sources

    I don’t understand how acute haemorrhage is assisted with high RDW, why should they change in size? Usually blood loss has normal MCV. Thanks

      Tromso Norweigian study showed over 55 year olds with an RDW of 12.9 or higher have a 30 per cent higher risk of cancer, optimal RDW is 11.5 to 12.6

      Thank you! Honestly I pull from several different resources and some personal knowledge depending on the topic so I never really take the time to put together references. Ultimately I want these videos to be starting points for understanding and not necessarily a reference for practice, if that makes sense?

    This was a great video. I'm going through some issues now but it's not pinpointed through the CBC or any other blood test. My platelet count is high due to spleen removal. Will this go back to normal?

    Great content, nice resume of the literature. Just that dubstep-ish intro kills the mood; is this a med-edu or a 1337skillz gameplay youtube channel? I dunno, imo having to skip 50 seconds every video due to the insane dB change is relatively annoying (I mostly just listen to the vids). Goodstuff tho
