UGH SHE'S SO GOOOOD - 7:37: She said she's sometimes harmonizing to herself live and that there are two notes when she's singing (like two voices) & her band gets annoyed when she does that.
She is a total relatable queen, and the pushyness to me is more stylistic cause it adds so much drama and tension that the song just required at that moment.

I absolutely love Kelly...Probably my favorite singer of all time. Besides her singing, her personality is genuine. She's not afraid of being vulnerable, and she embraces her true self unapologetically. Wonderful person.
Kelly has opera training as to why she can sustain those notes. Plus she knows how to reach down with all of Texas (as we say here in Texas) and belt it out!

Mamamoo is a vocal slaying kpop group that isn't known as well internationally, but are very well known in Korea. Immortal songs is a korean show that has current idols cover old well-charting Korean songs. Mamamoo's vocal technique is really great to the point where they match each others' vibrato. I really do enjoy your technical takes as well as reactions!
We can clearly see now that artists such as Christina Aguiller or even Adele, or Lady Gaga, Sia, Pink, or other "great" vocals should learn from Kelly Clarskon what the vocal technique is all about

Funny fact (unrelated) I started watching you some months ago and was writing my 3rd book. It's about to be published on March 17th and I introduced a new character for the next book in the series. I've started it (didn't get on here while finishing 3rd book and starting 4th) and realized where I got my new heroine's name... Georgina! It popped in my head and now I remember thinking your name would make a great character name. So, I'll have to dedicate my next one to you when it's finished. I'm from the states but I write Regency and Victorian Romance in the UK. This series is Victorian and takes place in London, Bath, and Gloucestershire... so for.
Backing vocals are everything as anyone who sings knows. Kelly thought if lucky she would be a background singer. She knows how important it is. Her singers are always on point. Attention to detail.

Speaking of cold conditions. This was a big controversy - Obama’s Inauguration. Beyoncé was set to sing that day too. Our inaugurations are always in January, when it’s cold. Kelly sang hers live, did an awesome job. Beyoncé actually prerecorded hers. She admitted she did because of the cold and she wanted it to be perfect for Obama & country (and something about not being able to rehearse, there is a video of Kelly rehearsing that song the day before. Maybe there was a good reason Beyoncé wasn’t able to rehearse, I do not know). I think Kelly managed it perfectly so surely Beyoncé could have done it. 🤷🏼♀️ Kelly has said in the past she won’t lip sync so there was no chance she was going to do that. I think in a way it’s kind of sad that Beyoncé must have been lacking the confidence maybe? Which she shouldn’t be lacking any confidence. Hard to sing in the cold but I appreciated that Kelly sang live.
