In my country there is no such thing as 'exempted' from military service. If u are a sportsman u still go thru 6mths of basic military training. Then u continue your sport training with the National Sports Council recommendation but once the training is over he still have to report back to his unit for training. Of convicts, if it's b4 enlistment then u server your jail time then report for your enlistment or vice e versa. Ofcoz ex-convicts will be posted to less sensitive units like cooks or storeman for uniform, pillows, bedsheets, etc... I personally think he should get enlisted. Hopeful it will make him a better man.

In my country there is no such thing as 'exempted' from military service. If u are a sportsman u still go thru 6mths of basic military training. Then u continue your sport training with the National Sports Council recommendation but once the training is over he still have to report back to his unit for training. Of convicts, if it's b4 enlistment then u server your jail time then report for your enlistment or vice e versa. Ofcoz ex-convicts will be posted to less sensitive units like cooks or storeman for uniform, pillows, bedsheets, etc...
I personally think he should get enlisted. Hopeful it will make him a better man.
