The reverse technique and the piano melodies were the two things I was missing in my beats. Gonna make some new stuff incorporating these things. As always, I learned something new from you bro!💪🏿🔥
i feel like a lot of people talk about metro n pierre etc but 40 stays underrated. 30 for 30 freestyle, from time, club paradise....some of the best beats i ever heard fr
Watched multiple Noah 40 tutorials and this is definitely the best. One tip tho. Just invert the midi horizontal before bouncing as audio track. So when you reverse you don’t have to chop. Though it gives a slightly different vibe it’s simpler
damn bro thank you for the sounds. that’s actually really nice of you man. especially the one shot ones. your real bro. subscribed and am a fan. thank you!!! made my day

Never realized he was using toms for a snare hit. 0 to 100's 2nd half truly defines what I like about 40's sound(the first half was produced by Boi1da). Rapping your bars outside of the loop pattern helps this trademark sound sound even more Drake-ish. That & having bright saturated vocals(w/ a subtle drop of distortion on it) w/o boosting the highs too much(you gotta perfect the high mids w/ perfect clip gain editing, multiband compressor de-essing that still lets the S's sound present, & dynamic EQ to perfect all those mid frequencies all the more so the vocal still sounds INSIDE & in FRONT of the music like analog era mixes rather than oddly ON TOP of it...all that & then STILL use a vocal exciter & have a subtle reverb creating a depth you FEEL but dont audible HEAR). The 40 vocal mix is underrated...listen to Something About You again by Majid Jordan & just really think on how vocals were never mixed like that before 40. Its not just the reverb but the trippy delays & the super crunchy big & bright sound w/o any irritable harshness in the mids like so many digital vocals. I credit real analog compressors partly for that but even w/o them, I bet he would get that similar sound in the box. Whoever mixed the vocals on Big Sean's Dark Sky Paradise definitely was on a similar vocal tip(my fav album to reference for modern rap vocals). Big Sean & Drake both started having vocals mixed like that around the same time(2012 or so) but Big Sean kept the sound where as Drake seems to switch it up(sortve like how Tuscan Leather has 3 different vocal mixes every time the beat switches up...the 3rd being the loudest but not louder than 0 to 100 nor 2 Birds 1 Stone(the 1st version that dropped) which may be overall mixed loudest of all).
I use logic too and just to save you time, I think you can select an entire audio file and select something like "split at transient points" and it'll chop it up for you. Might be a bit of error this way but it can save some time. Great vid!
Yo dude, just wanted to say that your vocals sounded better to me than your recorded artist! No ofence to singer) But def don't be shy to push your singing either, you got it!

True! I think that reversing the audio gives it a good texture for some reason, kind of fucked up sound but in a good way

the kick and 808 on that beat is on another level the mixing is something else

producing and mixing are two different things. If somebody pays you to produce, they won't expect a mixed track, they'll expect a good foundation.
@@prodharrypote producer can do beatmaking mixing and mastering
if you cant mix and master then you are beatmaker you are not producer
Insane bro, thanks heaps for sharing the sauce. Fav tutorial you’ve done so far 🔥🔥🔥🙌🏻
Thanks man!!!!
Man this is great. Also in Logic you can set custom key command to “slice region at transients” to quickly chop audio for reversing
Great video. Thanks 🔥
damn this was gas. instant sub my guy
That reverse trick is 🔥🔥🔥
