While Twilight didn't exactly deny that she didn't need Spike to be her assistant anymore, at least she tried to think of other ways that Spike could be useful. But just because Twilight doesn't need Spike to send letters anymore that didn't mean she didn't need Spike anymore, it was just that sending letters was now one less thing for Spike to do.
And even though part of me can't blame Spike for getting rid of the fax machine, at the same time throwing it out just makes it a waste of money. I mean a machine like that would probably cost a fortune in Equestria.
But anyway, as usual you did a truly superb and fabulous job on this dub Scribbler! Fantastic work!!!

You did the right thing, Spike. Those things are nowhere _near_ as fast as your scroll-sending ability. Twilight would've destroyed that thing _herself_ once she realized how slow that thing would've been, great job cutting out the middleman.

This is why I feel that Spike should have tried experimenting more with his Dragonfire in the setting beyond just using it to send-off messages to others. I think it'd have been awesome if around the final Season: Spike is zipping around the place tossing fire like a Firebender or using those flames to teleport _himself_ with.

Well in this case Spike is right a fax machine is redundant, as are things like phones etc they live in a world FULL of magic which covers everything and in general their world is so much more interesting with magic tbh than a world with technology.
