There are many comments about how underrated Aurora is. But that is not true, she has millions of followers on TH-cam and she is huge outside USA. But she is not really going for the charts, she is just spreading her music to an audience that is prepared to enjoy and listen to her messages and vocal artistry.
I think that this is a candidate for the most perfect concert ever staged. A brilliant blend of Aurora's songs and well chosen covers (particularly "Walking In The Air" which sounds as if it was written by Aurora), the stunning venue, the immaculate production values, the superb supporting musicians and choir and the matchless charisma of Aurora's performance skills and personality. Copies of this should be placed in archives the world over to be viewed by future generations so that people can always be reminded of the power of music.

(It's a bit like chiseling digital content into stone.) Can you imagine. Us today finding someone like her who lived back in ancient Egypt or something. And being able to watch her?
Like a lot of the commenters below, I cry too sometimes during her performances. As a little girl in Norway she spent a lot of time alone in the forest with the animals day and night and has always been special. She’s a fairy, angel, and a unique being. She dedicated her song “Heathens” at Rough Trade East, London, to “ . . . the Mother who takes care of the people who aren’t welcome in heaven.” Like me.
Aurora is the very embodiment of a concept that doesn't really exist in popular music in this day in age. She is not just a songwriter, not just a singer or a musician. She is an artist. And I mean that in every sense of the word. She never dreamt of being famous, or topping charts, or making millions of dollars, when she was a child. She discovered music at a young age and felt it in her heart and soul. She grew to understand what creating music did to her on a personal level, but never thought 'hey, I could probably sell this!' When she was approached by her management company, she rejected them, saying that she had no ambition to be a singer. But it was her mother who explained that she had been given a beautiful gift, and it would be selfish not to share it. I believe that great music is no less an art form than great poetry, or sculpture, or painting. I believe Aurora sees music in the same way, and this vision remains her primary motivation, making her, by far, the most authentic, credible artist I have come across in decades!

Nature Boy .. Nat King Cole, but a lovely companion to the heartbreaking “Boy in the Grass,” about her love, 17 to her 15, who passed with the other 66 children in the Utoya Massacre. You have to think it was those families in her thoughts as she spoke of sadness at Christmas. They call it 22 Juli there - Norway’s 9/11, to put it in context in terms of the broken heart of the country. Two attacks, 77 gone in a moment, hundreds injured. So much heartbreak. And 67!! were children. It’s devastating and I think important to understand her, maybe. Where *some* of the ache in her comes from, perhaps. It makes me cry every time I hear that song. And now they are stars. (Under Stars)..
Every time you come across a song you haven’t heard yet I get a twinge of jealousy. That feeling you get hearing a song for the first time. Next Aurora gig you go for has to be the Live At KEXP. A very different show to this. Full of energy and dance and laughter, joy but the emotion we all except from Aurora.
Easily the best concert performance I’ve ever seen. It is women like this who change the world through class, intelligence, influence and humility. These are the idols our children need. Not “artists” that seek fame and money by peddling seduction and lifestyle. Aurora has more power in a single glance than any of those others have combined. I might be overstating… but I don’t think so. Please consider the performance of one of Dimash’s idols, Lara Fabian -Je Suis Malade from the performance “From Lara with love” a masterclass in story telling. Thanks again for sharing.
I fall asleep to this concert every night. Auroras sweet ethereal voice always calms me and I'm asleep by song 3 or 4. Promise to stay awake for your reactions though..😂
I first watched this concert back in February 2020.... It was literally my first ever introduction to Aurora. Never heard of her before that night. And yeah......it genuinely objectively changed my life. Easily in the top 3 concerts of I've witnessed, in person or on video. I've seen it maybe 20 times since. It's THAT good.
Aurora is a Norwegian artist, an organically honed singer, a songwriter and a producer who possesses an angelic ethereal voice which breathes forth from the depths of that which is truly most important to us as humans and this earth. When you see her, when you listen to her, you are struck, struck with a realization that before you is a uniquely authentic human being, a beautiful …
I forgot her David Bowie cover was in this! She’s done a few other covers as well, Teardrop by massive attack (which i will still alway remember from House M.D) and very recently she did a cover of Rasputin by Boney M!

This concert is really something very special to behold. How we would have loved to be in that audience, right ? If she will ever do something like this again here in Norway , I'll be sure to order one extra ticket😉 You need to visit Norway at some stage (pun intended) anyway. Or, if you want to bring your wife and kids along, I'll order a few more. Now I am very curious to see what you think of Diana Ankudinova. For me, she is one of those up and coming new artists that have an incredible and undeniable talent, somewhat like Dimash although very different at the same time, but still doesn't quite click with me. But my jaw drops to the floor every time I hear her, so I'm looking forward to your reaction(s). Prepare yourself for a polyfonic voice and more. Hi Larry, thanks for your reaction. I think both concerts (HAIK and now Nidarosdomen) are MASTERPIECES. Her song choice for both of them was great. Her angelic voice in a cathedral - wow. I love it. You can't hear anything form the audience if she sings. This is a great respect to an artist. Nobody want to miss a singel tone. It's not often. And her smile - sometimes like she is thinking "I catch all of them" and sometimes it seems that she is only happy, because she is in the music - in her music. Thank you Larry an greatings from Germany.
So glad you saw this whole concert. This concert was my very first introduction to Aurora. I’d never heard of her when I stumbled upon this video on TH-cam a year or so ago. I literally felt like I was holding my breath the whole time I watched it. All the while wondering “just who is this girl?” As much as I’ve learned about her since then, I’ve concluded that she’s an extremely poetic old soul with endless stories to convey through music of many lifetimes lived and remembered. She is a teacher and a gift to those of us lucky enough to hear the stories she sings. Perhaps the most important thing to know is that she is also a very normal human being like the rest of us. Simply striving to persevere, learn and grow through the experiences and observations of life. One difference being that she has the desire and artistic ability to express it all in so many powerful and beautiful ways through music. Also, if you listen to her interviews, you’ll find that she has an incredible and very clever sense of humor. Lofty and creative in thought and quite grounded in her being.
Through the Eyes of a Child, particularly this version and the "stripped" version (Vevo UK Lift), stirs up my waterworks, too. I have two little girls, and I think about them during this song. Every. Time.
I visited Nidarosdomen once, and was lucky to find the organist having a practice session. The cathedral is absolutely majestic, and, to me, a prime example of “less is more”. No singing, alas, but the music soared! Diana is well worth a reaction, she has a fantastic voice, and is very much a performer. Looking forward to seeing what you think 🎶
Walking in the air is in a movie called The Snowman. It’s a musical telling of a boy who wakes up to snow, and he makes a a Snowman. I love it. This might be the only music with words in the whole movie.
did not wake up this morning at 6:30 just to be in tears again . But I'm so happy to be able to watch this concert with you Larry I so much enjoy this concert. Aurora is like I have always said that she is a beautiful angle sent from heaven and I so much no matter how many times I watch her Aurora is so awesome in her own way. what a beautiful spirit she has. I really enjoy watching your reaction on all her videos and concerts. you are so on spot on every thing Aurora does . she has pretty much saved my soul with her music. keep up the good work my man you are awesome. now I'm going to finish watching the concert with and you have a great day my friend.
1:04:20 or so....you really hit on it. Yes, her music is SO cathartic and emotionally resonant and creative and cool...that it's overwhelming. But....it's also interesting to notice...she's REALLY good. Like, technically, in terms of musical proficiency....she's ridiculous. People can't just sing like that...emote like that...bring their body, face, mind, voice....into PERFECT synchronization like that. It's so tight...but also super loose in a way. It's creative and well crafted. Basically this concert always reminds me of why Aurora is so special...but also reminds me that *music* itself...is hands down the best thing humans ever invented. It's the greatest thing we've ever created....the single best idea we ever hit on. Without it, life could exist, could go on...but why? What would be the point really?
Love your Aurora reactions. She is a true and pure artist. Much of the mainstream pop music of singers her age is just nonsense compared to the music produced by her. A true performer and a beautiful, hauntingly beautiful voice.
Thank you for your emotional reacting and enthusiasm. What a incredible concert. It is a kind of a fairytale told through music. It gives me positive vibes and let me dive into a magical world. I hope she can keep this childlike innocence for a long time. The world isn’t that nice at all but with people like her it can become a little better for everyone. Greetings from Germany ❤️
Hi Larry, so you decided to do this video after all. I am very glad you did. To experience this vibe throughout this whole performance with orchestra and choir, makes it so very special. Each time again she grabs me and takes me on this aural odyssey. Loved your reaction!
I love your reactions to this wee star! I didn't appreciate her the first time I saw someone react. I thought she was too airy faerie. Then I decided to look her up. Much respect to her lyrics and musicality. She's exceptional. No ego.
@@patriciamoore6492 Gotcha! My name is Chris but everyone calls me Larry on this channel due to my channel name. It's kind of a funny story that I'll have to go over some time!
Her voice has so much skill and beauty. I can't help but be reminded of other great N.W. Europe female singers such as Elizabeth Fraser, Dolores O'Riordan, and Bjork.
I was dreading watching this with you even though iv'e watched it many times and was surprised that you were pausing very sparingly , Thank you for that , a great reaction.
Walking in the air - exchange the Dragon for a Snowman -- This is a cover of a song from a short animation by Raymond Briggs titled The Snowman - A boy makes a Snowman which comes alive !!! you can guess the rest
It’s a stunning concert isn’t it. Will be watching this concert again at Christmas. The songs Nature Boy and Walking in The Air (and Life on Mars) are covers.
The explanation of 'lucky': "It's about realizing that you've been through dark tunnels in life, but still walking forward, both feet strong. We are all lucky to be alive, it's an important thing to remember" Been there.... this song hits home every time.
Aurora was quite young in this concert. You can hear, from time to time, that she has yet to reach the level of control that she now has. One such thing is that Aurora could go a bit nasal in parts of her vocalization but as the true professional she is, she overcame that. My admiration for this performer/artist/poet is ever on the rise. Wonderful. Just wonderful.
I think she was 21 here. It is important to remember that this is not a place created for modern electrically amplified music. It is a huge cathedral made of stone with a lot of delay and echo in the acoustics. The seats for the audience are not in the form of an auditorium as in a concert hall or similar. That her expression becomes nasal is a natural adjustment that a professional singer sometimes has to make in order to break through a rather chaotic or massive soundscape. Her usually soft and airy singing style doesn't work so well here :). The choice of songs, sound, instruments and expression was probably particularly adapted to the venue. I personally think she would instinctively do the same today in a similar arena.
you are such a sensible men. you've captivated me since the first video. it's beautiful to watch your reactions just to see how you let your emotions guide you, and you are never afraid to show vulnerability. please, never change that.

I am re-visiting this beautiful concert of Aurora through your reaction. It never fails to grip my heart with different layers of emotions...Everything is so perfect under the dome of the historic cathedral....God bless..
25:50 Her personal backstory with this song is, I assume, probably similar to my own... The Snowman, which this song comes from, was aired every year around Christmas all throughout European countries. I'm an American, but I grew up for several years in France as a kid. And this song...is DEEEEP in my subconscious. I bet it was for Aurora as well. I can tell through her performance how much the song meant/means to her. Me too....
I love your reaction to this. This concert is the most magical thing i have ever seen. If you're interested in seeing another, more uplifting kind of her performance check out her KEXP concert! (In fact there are two on TH-cam. Her performance in the one with 5.5m views is insane! And the second ends with a very nice interview with her)
The whole gig is absolutely wonderful, a lot of hard work has gone into making this such a special concert, Aurora is just doing what she does best, and her audience are spellbound. Magical 😄😄😄😄😄
She once said that when she's gone she wants to be remembered as a genius.... this concert is all anyone would need to see to know that she is already one.
Very nice reaction to possibly Aurora best concert ever! The Nidarosdomen cathedral is just a magical place. If you react to another concert of hers I’d suggest doing the KEXP one, it’s pretty short and you already reacted to one song there, Churchyard.
I have seen this consert again and again.... And I watched every minute with you... She is fantastic.... She said in an video: the pitch is not the first priority, the FEEL are more important... Like in these "crying parts" or "yelling" she might "go off pich" to get the correct feel... But i fit's "the story"....
I am insanely jealous of all who were lucky enough to be there, in that Cathedral, listening to that masterpiece. Her adaptations to the acoustics were just spot on! All in all, a stunning performance.
The song Under stars : “It’s about us. About the people we’ve lost through time, and how we handle that loss. The guilt of still being alive when they are not, and the hope that they might only be sleeping, maybe still dreaming, under the stars. ” - AURORA
I can't HELP but comment 12 minutes and 2 seconds into this......I can't believe you're reacting to this!!! I've already got goose bumps thrice thus far. Aurora is SUCH The Performer "and" StoryTeller........ I so can't wait to see your reaction to 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Murder Song, especially the ending on this one.......ok.....back to it.....
Another great reaction!! You should react to another Live version of Aurora singing "Life on Mars", its the best performance for me. Also theres another cover, Arianna Grande´s"god is a woman", that is also GREAT. I truly recommend it!
Yayy! The full concert reaction :D love it!! I think you would also REALLY enjoy her live performance in Bergen (2020), she does the most beautiful renditions of Exist for Love, The River, Lucky, and more. Sending love and good vibes your way, Larry :)
This is where I first stumbled upon Aurora by accident. I've been in awe since. Thanks for sharing your reaction. If you get the chance, you might appreciate this doc from earlier in Aurora's career. It's called "Once, Aurora" th-cam.com/video/HFNP5zriFsw/w-d-xo.html Here's how the producers describe the film: "Aurora is a pop music sensation from a small town in Western Norway. She was discovered at the age of 16, dropped out of school, and spent the next years touring the world with her first album. At the age of 20 she is at a breaking point. Is this really what she wants, and if not, does she have any other option but to continue?"
Hi Larry, looking forward to watching the remainder of this masterpiece later today - work is getting in the way! Thanks for showing the intro with subtitles. Many reactors show the performances but without the intro, their's and your audience isn't aware of WHY Aurora performed the songs she did, in the order she did. Once again, she's attempting to help people HEAL from whatever they may be going through. She is SUCH a genius empath and we are so lucky to have her. Thank you for reacting to the entire concert.
This was awesome and a concert I hadn’t watched all the way through before. Really loved Soft Universe. Thanks for taking the time to watch this for us. I really enjoyed watching with you. Can’t wait for the KEXP concert. Hope you are doing well and I’ll see you on the next vid.
I am always thinking of the word remembrance in connection with this consert. Maybe an old fashioned word, but the only one suitable for me. It's all about loss and recognition, but also comforting 🕊
I'm so glad you paused there during Little boy in the grass, i was about to burst out into tears. Still ended up tearing up during the croshendo though :P This is definitely the more hopeful of the two presentations out here on TH-cam of the two :) I'm sure you have read from other comments what the song is about. I love that during Soft Universe, sometimes when the camera pans over the choir they are just grinning from ear to ear. Aurora just radiates such energy and emotion :D Thanks for another great video. Auora was supposed to have another concert at Nidarosdomen this year, outside this time in August. I had tickets and everything, sadly it got cancelled due to covid restrictions.

I love your reactions. And I really look forward to this one (haven't seen it all yet). Rare to see anyone doing a reaction to an entire concert! Keep up the good work!

14:30 leads into an Incredible release. Aroura is an amazing artist!! Good of you to showcase her talents. Did you realize she is also a part of the ne Dune soundtrack?

Thanks Martin!
Perfect prenounciation on Nidarosdomen 😊
Through the Eyes of a Child, particularly this version and the "stripped" version (Vevo UK Lift), stirs up my waterworks, too. I have two little girls, and I think about them during this song. Every. Time.
I visited Nidarosdomen once, and was lucky to find the organist having a practice session. The cathedral is absolutely majestic, and, to me, a prime example of “less is more”. No singing, alas, but the music soared!
Diana is well worth a reaction, she has a fantastic voice, and is very much a performer. Looking forward to seeing what you think 🎶
I love every moment of this concert. Angelic and powerful.
Very well said, Faith! Also, thank you for your kind words!
I just love this whole consert. 🤗🎶🎶
Concerts don’t get much better than this!:-) great reaction!:-)
I'd have to say it's the perfect concert.
Hi Larry, so you decided to do this video after all. I am very glad you did. To experience this vibe throughout this whole performance with orchestra and choir, makes it so very special. Each time again she grabs me and takes me on this aural odyssey. Loved your reaction!
Thanks JK!
Angelic and beatific - pure bliss! I adore everything Aurora!! She is simply and utterly divine. ☮❤️ Sea Point, Cape Town, South Africa
She's such a sweetheart, with so much talent
I love your reactions to this wee star! I didn't appreciate her the first time I saw someone react. I thought she was too airy faerie. Then I decided to look her up. Much respect to her lyrics and musicality. She's exceptional. No ego.
I love that, Pat. Glad you gave her a second chance : )
@@larryshair it's Trish. Thanks!
@@patriciamoore6492 Gotcha! My name is Chris but everyone calls me Larry on this channel due to my channel name. It's kind of a funny story that I'll have to go over some time!
@@larryshair names are important. Thanks, Chris. 😉
Thanks Honest!
You picked one of her best live performances, warriors and weirdos and everyone loves your reactions to her.
Thank you so much! You are very kind!
The explanation of 'lucky': "It's about realizing that you've been through dark tunnels in life, but still walking forward, both feet strong. We are all lucky to be alive, it's an important thing to remember"
Been there.... this song hits home every time.
Thank you for yet another very thorough and inspiring response.
you are such a sensible men. you've captivated me since the first video. it's beautiful to watch your reactions just to see how you let your emotions guide you, and you are never afraid to show vulnerability. please, never change that.
Thank you so much for your kind words! You are so very kind : )
Aww what did you remember ? Great reaction. I hope you can do Helvegen too. Love when she sings that with Wardruna. Hei from Bergen, Norway !
I am re-visiting this beautiful concert of Aurora through your reaction. It never fails to grip my heart with different layers of emotions...Everything is so perfect under the dome of the historic cathedral....God bless..
Loved this video!
I just love her, true musical genius.
I really felt how soft the universe is on her vocals.
One song was cut out of this concert. "Dancing on the moon". It's a delight.
And the second ends with a very nice interview with her)
Lol Through the eyes of a Child gets me every time...I don't know how many times I've watched it but it still gets me....so I'm with you there
I KNEW I was in trouble!
Aurora is a angelic angel
Well said!
The World of Aurora, was an amazing christmas concert in Trondheim Norway.
The whole gig is absolutely wonderful, a lot of hard work has gone into making this such a special concert, Aurora is just doing what she does best, and her audience are spellbound.
Magical 😄😄😄😄😄
I love u❤ very nice reaction!
Thank you PS! Back atcha!
Walking in the air is from the snowman animation
I'm so grateful to see this together with you and all the others who love Aurora. Simply a fantastic concert.
Thanks TW!!!! Glad to have watched it with you!
Aurora is Love! she sounds so Angelic and pure
Thanks Larry 🙂 you need to watch thé vidéo clip of winter birds ans thé river very interesting ! 😉
She once said that when she's gone she wants to be remembered as a genius.... this concert is all anyone would need to see to know that she is already one.
Het John, she will be remembered for much more than just her genius...
That was wonderful, I loved every minute.
The song Under stars :
“It’s about us.
Nice!
When she started “ through the eyes of a child” and you said oh no😂
Right? I knew I was in for it...
Thanks Alana!
This is where I first stumbled upon Aurora by accident. I've been in awe since. Thanks for sharing your reaction. If you get the chance, you might appreciate this doc from earlier in Aurora's career. It's called "Once, Aurora" th-cam.com/video/HFNP5zriFsw/w-d-xo.html
Here's how the producers describe the film: "Aurora is a pop music sensation from a small town in Western Norway. She was discovered at the age of 16, dropped out of school, and spent the next years touring the world with her first album. At the age of 20 she is at a breaking point. Is this really what she wants, and if not, does she have any other option but to continue?"
Fun fact: the Steinmeyer organ has 10.000 pipes an weigh inn at 40.000 kg.
It was buildt in 1930, and a restoration was done in 2014.
It's absolutely incredible.
This is a Masterpiece....She is Gaia.
Still ended up tearing up during the croshendo though :P
This is definitely the more hopeful of the two presentations out here on TH-cam of the two :) I'm sure you have read from other comments what the song is about.
I love that during Soft Universe, sometimes when the camera pans over the choir they are just grinning from ear to ear. Aurora just radiates such energy and emotion :D
Thanks for another great video.
Auora was supposed to have another concert at Nidarosdomen this year, outside this time in August. I had tickets and everything, sadly it got cancelled due to covid restrictions.
Thanks RK! Yes, those grins from the background vocalists was great!
Not sure if it has been mentioned but she recorded her role as the Voice of the North Wind for Frozen 2 movie in a cathedral. Ahh ahhh ahh ahhh.
Yes, I heard that and was blown away! So cool!
@@larryshair and I didn’t know this but Elsa is a Norwegian princess. Haha. Here is her talking about it if you are interested. th-cam.com/video/6_8BW-5VOHs/w-d-xo.html
Second time waching... I stil cry man....
It's so good...
Amazing
As others already pointed out, Walking in the air is a cover and really is film music (The Snowman). But as you mentioned the How to train your dragon movies, I have to say I absolutely love John Powell’s soundtrack from those.
My beloved partner had gone to bed early, so I had a great evening watching this concert with you!!! 😄
Nice! I hope you enjoy her performance as much as I did!
I loved sharing the emotions of this concert with you, such a lovely person
Another great one. Enjoyed your reaction.
😊👍
Thanks again!
I love everything about this concert and yes she would suond great with David Bowie , best concert i have ever seen wish i could have been there .
Hi Larry! I just discovered your channel today (the Angelina cover of Adele's "Easy on me". And then I fell into *your* rabbit hole! :) Fascinating how you seem to love the same music as me. I love your reactions. And I really look forward to this one (haven't seen it all yet). Rare to see anyone doing a reaction to an entire concert! Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much Steinar! You are very kind!
Wow full magical concert. I will join later today. Just going to work and can not watch 1h right now. But thx for a reaction :).
PLEEASE react AURORA Lollapalooza Live 2018
No one else has an instrument quite like Aurora.
"Walking in the air" is a cover composed by Howard Blake in the animated short "the snowman"
Dude, Larry, the look on your face when "Through The Eyes of a Child" started.......here we go.....
Shawn, I knew I was in trouble when this song kicked in!
@@larryshair Happens to me 'every' time....lol
Thank you for the amazing comments a your honest reaction, really relateable! Sometimes it was a lot of fun because I felt we had the same reaction to some songs's moments haha
Nice!
14:30 leads into an Incredible release.
Aroura is an amazing artist!!
Good of you to showcase her talents.
Did you realize she is also a part of the ne Dune soundtrack?
Nice! I will need to look into that!
Sorry ? What ? The 2021 Dune movie ?
just a reminder that nature boy (the first song) is a cover, the original is by nat king cole
It is like I would be transferred to some kind a magic kingdom for a 1h, no matter which time I watching and listening it :). I would love if I could be there in that moment :).
