      Er stupid question but I gotta ask
      I have been back from hiatus since DDD was basically steamrolled when link monsters came out
      Can sky striker merge with DDD? It’s not attribute reliant , so can and sky striker is a sub archetype

    • @DeSalvo511
      @DeSalvo511 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@deltaed3517 not really. Sky Striker has to basically be its own deck because all the spells require no monsters in the main monster zones. Engage, Hornet Drones, a maybe another teched Sky Striker card or two may work in various decks but likely no more than a 4-6 card package

      @christiancrossno5098 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alexander The one In the case of Raye you could but it’s best to run her links too like Hayate or Kaina since they have arrows benefiting you but the spells besides Area Zero and Multirole do have the “no monsters in the main monster zone” but they’re kind of pointless without the other spells.

      Is there no way to mix the archetypes tho?

      I like the meme, but Man-Eater Bug is just a worse Spine. I know, I ruin the fun, but MEB is no "can"-effect, so you HAVE to destroy a monster, even if it is itself. Krawler Spine leaves you a choice.

    One of the most important part of playtesting is to actully have a clock for the 40 minutes timer. While 8wouldnt recommend it if you are playing a new deck, if you’re playtesting for an event implementing the time rules is actually crucial, it helps to know when to surrender a game in order to be able to play g3

      Arguably one of the most impprtant things to know. Most people who play competitive already know how to play the game well enough. Knowing when to fold is one of those things that really can be the difference beween a full 2-3 games, and a time loss/draw.

    • @perfectentrytrading

      Wait you mean forcing out a draw on time isn't what youre supposed to do if you know you've got no hope in winning, the clock works both ways if you know you won't beat them in a best of three then stall out the games so you can tie on time or something

    A video that would be very helpful is one about what to hand trap and negate for random "rogue" or low tier decks. If we are practicing solely against meta and we come across something like Madolche or Frightfur there is a low chance to know what to negate.
    I know how to play against meta and regularly practice against it at locals but then I go on DB ranked and I have very little idea what to do to these lower tier decks (granted I normally win.) But it would be nice to vaguely know what to hit without having to duel it multiple times. The type of decks you would see a lot at regionals.

      @ElTinoTube 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Unfortunatelly, this Is a case un which you have to go to a local store and start testing.
      It Is like online play, you may be good on your own, but having teammates to tests will always allow for a better improvement.
      Even if you don't have friends, local stores are filled with people wanting to test/play more competitive so you shouldn't hace trouble finding someone to test with.

      @@nictay6180 lol, you're just describing basically all local stores. Jokes aside, what are you testing for? A YCS, regional, ir what kind of evento? A lot of people act like that (even worst) during big tournaments. Sweaty, rude, smelly, unfriendly, annoying, sharky... You can't take the social aspect of the game, for good or worst, out of it. I think that for you, it will even help you get used yo uncomfortable situation that, trust me will happen during a big tournament. As a former judge i have seen very nasty and rude players, and sometimes people start getting tilted and play badly because they're not usted to it. You kindda need to get used to it to an extent, so that you can enjoy the Tournament better.
      If you're really don't want to go through that, like 100% not doing it, all you can do is Dueling Book, trying to write descriptions like "testing against meta, full match", things like that. But it won't help you as much. Try to find online groups for testing, in the forums or any webpage.

I did a minor in maths at uni, and had a card game on my phone that had a lot of chance effects. The binomial distribution, hyper-geometric distribution, and Bayesian statistics were by far the most helpful in deck design for that game. Glad the same tools apply equally well in Yugioh :)

I've met people that have done things like activate a Spinny with no cards (which is illegal), and think it's okay without reading the card or having someone put them in check.

      It is, but I'm not actually sure how to use it for combos. Here's an example, say you are running a classic pure Legendary Six Samurai list and want to see how often you can synchro summon Shi En on the first turn while going first. The available combos that will get you there involve 2 - 3 cards usually but these cards can vary wildly. From Elder of the Six Samurai + Asceticism to Kagemusha of the Six + Kageki (swap any of these with Shien's Smoke Signal or ROTA), to Kizan + any lvl 3 Six Samurai + Shien's Dojo, there's a lot of possibilities to improve on ratios.

    Can you make a video about how to use hypergeometric calculators? Because I didn't know they existed before you said it in this video and I'm trying to figure out ratios and stuff for how to build a DM Chaos hybrid deck and I feel like I'm the only one doing it and it would be helpful to make it as efficient as possible. I really am having a hard time perfecting it because I don't know every card in existence and there may be a card that'll help it that I don't know about. Even with Kaijuus, you would have to be super lucky to out your opponent's board if they build a negation board when going 2nd. The type of deck you play doesn't matter whether it is meta or otherwise because your opponent won't let you play. The game has gotten way too toxic because Konami doesn't care about game balance and keeps printing negation cards.

      Try to have multiple ways to get to the same card...if it's possible. Or have multiple play lines depending on what they hit.
      I know that this is easier said than done for the rogue decks I play...but it works out if you can incorporate it because you'll never really be stopped by an interruption, you know? You'll always end on something somewhat formidable for the opponent to have to deal with.
      I just feel like this approach can be better than just maining 3 Called By the Grave because there will be times where you don't draw Called By the Grave and you'll need other countermeasures to compensate for the lack of its presence in your hand.

Or perhaps it loses to itself due to inconsistencies. A duel could do wonders for helping me understand, but I don't know if it's worth sinking time into...
