I had an interesting experience. After a night at the bar I came back to my car to find 12v disconnected. I normally keep it hand tight so when the combinator goes out I can quickly fix it. Well in my state I thought "what if all the ECU knows is full EV power" and I know reverse uses exclusively EV power so I reversed out of there pretty quick. I kept it floored way longer than I would have conscious and I think it was a potentially unsafe procedure even fully sober. Anyhow, since that night (2 nights ago) it has behaved substantially uhhh... "Better" the MPG avg on the MFD has just been going up and I'm waiting to the gas ticks to go but they just won't...!

th-cam.com/video/Syx0QrvYAIQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=984d0SggOx4VkItJ&t=1590 I've measured reverse use of EV Power while flooring it. You can see this in the link above. Your improvement in mpg is likely otherwise a coincedence.

@@JoMophee It's not just MPG I thought I was driving my tesla for a hot second. it only hit the engine on the onramp. My theory at the time was to make it only know all the power all the time. I'm not sure if it's important whether you drink hard liquor or beer but I mixed both but I think either is sufficient

I'm curious about the state of your wheel speed sensors. I just replaced one that wasn't throwing a code but causing odd brake behavior when hitting bumps at slow speed for a couple years. After replacing a wheel bearing I had all the abs lights turn on and had no more abs function. After replacing the sensor last night I noticed an IMMEDIATE change in brake behavior, regen and battery soc. Much like you are describing. Now I can find a very precise pedal position allowing the vehicle to coast without regen or engine on. Now I'm thinking about all of the fuel I could have possibly saved... Hope this helps.

    I’m having this problem.

I’m having this problem. 30 mpg. I think I was sold a weak used battery. This is the second used battery, they gave me a replacement warranty battery. Same 30 mpg. Any fix / solution?

Hello, yesterday I removed the battery of my vehicle, there was a lot of oxidation on the busbars, the battery ecu unit connector was oxidized, I am currently doing the battery maintenance and oxide cleaning, I am wondering if there will be a change, I will let you know the result.

I doubt there will be a significant change. Power Output is regulated by the HV ECU under the dash. The Hybrid Battery ECU acts like a multimeter and transmits data to the HV ECU. Unless you were having an error code or problem beforehand, there will likely be no change in EV Output behavior

@@JoMophee Hello, after a long absence, I wanted to provide an update. I removed the hybrid battery, and all the terminals were oxidized. I cleaned them thoroughly and then performed an NiMH maintenance procedure using a professional device. I also balanced the voltage. After reassembling the battery and installing it back into the car, the Dr. Prius app showed a value of 90.75%, which is an improvement from the previous 83%. While this isn’t a bad value, my fuel consumption has worsened significantly to 6.6 liters per 100 kilometers (approximately 35.6 miles per gallon). I don’t know how to address this issue, and the service center isn’t sure either. Even if I were to replace the battery, they can’t guarantee it would solve the problem. Additionally, my car currently has a P0420 fault code. Could this code be affecting my fuel consumption?”

@muratgurbuz9408 P0420 may effect fuel consumption slightly depending on how degraded the catalytic converter combs are and if they're clogged. That can reduce mpg by reducing efficiency of exhaust flow, causing back pressure on the engine during the exhaust stroke. Otherwise I would not attribute you cleaning the busbars to a decrease or increase in mpg either way. It could just be your area has been a bit more windy lately, slightly decreasing mpg. Every 10mph of wind can reduce mpg by 10-15%+ etc.
Otherwise I have mothballed working on this Project to prove the MAX and WEAK EV State mechanism of low mpg. I may get around to completely finishing it later this year still.

@@JoMophee “Thank you for your interest. I’m also trying to investigate the cause of the issue with the resources available in my area. Actually, I’d like to share an observation related to this topic with you. When I start the car and it’s ready to go, if I switch to the ‘D’ mode and drive, it feels like it releases more power, but this effect lasts for only 3 to 5 seconds. After that, it directly transitions to the weak EV mode, as you mentioned. I believe during this time, the car’s control systems communicate and establish the transition to the weak EV mode.”
