8 years later this still works! my s6 has been hanging in a draw and it was rooted. nice fresh os install thanks :)
This worked for me on S6 Edge Canada. Even after being stuck in emergency recovery mode was still able to push firmware through. YOUR THE BEST!

Thanks man. Quick note to say that your instructions worked perfectly. Needed to unroot a Samsung to be able to get the Nougat update. I purchased the phone with 6.01, but your ROM was 5.x. After the unroot, it's running thru what looks like back to back to back updates now. Hoping it reaches ver 7 eventually.

u can do this ¿? or remove samsung account ?
If you click start and it fails after a few seconds. You could be using the wrong firmware. Happened to me so I downloaded a different firmware (same version of android but different carrier) and now everything works. Hope this helps.
May I ask you a question? what will happen if I don't do the factory reset? The reason I flash the phone is because I accidentally rooted my 5.1.1 phone, after the firmware reinstall the phone is back to normal, I guess I don't need to do the factory reset? am I right? is there any hiden risk that I'm unaware of?

Will this trigger the Knox warranty voided count, thus voiding your warranty? Have not rooted my phone yet but I'm afraid of triggering the flash count. I found a way of rooting the galaxy s6 without triggering this count, but I'm curious to know if there a way to unroot without triggering as to preserve the warranty when needed.

mine went to pass, then flashed back to samsung galaxy s6 screen and just stays on that ?? I did all the steps exactly right? Idk if there is some other way you know or something i did wrong?
My S6 was AT&T and had ping ponged without tripping my Knox and after this whole unrooting process my Knox was still not tripped. I don't not know if this will fix a tripped Knox but I do know it itself will not trip Knox.

I followed the instruction you've giving, how ever it said failed. Im wondering if i downloaded the wrong firmware for my samsung S6. I came across three different ones, naturally i downloaded the most recent date. still no dice. any suggestion?
Mine flash all fine, but reboots itself on splash screen, and the recovery menu doent show, cwm, twrp or stock one =(
I did factory reset by pressing vol up+ home+ power button. Now phone saying "Abnormal factory reset. enter samsung accoutn details." I do not remember samsung account details. Will this method work?

how is it that I managed to root my phone WITHOUT loosing any data or app, but I will loose everything when I try to get it back to unrooted state? :D
(BTW im planning to unroot, cuz since I rooted it, it was unable to get any system updates.. +I noticed my camera wont start recording in 4k, only lower res..)

I rooted my phone, and i had done something that caused it to not be able to access the internet, so i figured a little factory reset should do the trick, so i do that, and now my phone wont go anywhere else when starting up but the galaxy s6 boot, then it cuts off and does it again, over and over and over, any help with this?
After unbricking the phone. Can you go to software updates in the settings and update it.

hey guys i recently rooted my s6 edge on 5.1.1 with a custom kernel so but now i want to unroot it does this method work or should i wait till a stock kernel comes out?
in the ID:COM field you said that it will not work if it is not showing something in that box and that it is a driver issue. What if my S6 is not showing any signs of life even after trying every combination of volume buttons, power button and home button and for many variations of seconds (time). I can not get it to respond to anything, thus no download screen, thus nothing in the IM:COM field. Can you please advise what I can try to do? Thank you!

Hey.. your video doesn't work for the S6 Edge AT&T variant. I tried uploading the .md5 file in Odin 3, once started I end up receiving an error stating, "MD5 error, binary is invalid". I tried deleting the .md5 at the end of the firmware name and (restarting in odin again which failed). I also re-downloading the firmware itself , but no luck with that either. Do you have any other ideas?

Hey, thx for the video. I tried all the steps. 1. i turned off the option "Auto Reboot" in Odin, but then my phone wouldnt respond to any button combos after flashing the firmware. 2. i tried with the "Auto Reboot" on, but my phone is still stuck in a boot loop and I can only use the button combo to access download mode but I cant make it into recovery. Any advice? (also my start screen with the smsung logo has red horizontal stripes in the background instead of just the usual black)

NEED HELP tried to root phone but I think I tripped KNOX as my mobile is now bricked and I can not get to the factory reset mode, I then tried to download software which said that would it fix the phone however the download failed and I got another warning screen which said failed to download software please use Samsung smart switch to fix this, the programme is not able to recognise my phone. If I took my phone to Samsung would they fix it for me? I can get onto download mode and have tried downloading the correct firmware for my phone from SAMMobile but this will always fail on Odin toward the end. Thanks for any input

hey! ive got a SM-G920F but it is unlocked and does not have any t-mobile or verizon with it. i tried to flash framework for xposed installer which caused a bootloop. I can't find the stock firmware that i need as they all have t-mobile or another provider linked with them. Has anyone got a link to a stock firmware i can use? PLZ HELP :(
