I cant help but feel like some people are missing the point here. Anyone can win with some basic meta build, but it takes a true madman to win while sabotaging yourself at every opportunity. And everyone knows that the craziest people are also the most entertaining.
"It's early enough" literally the earliest round you can roll a worm.
Using Parrot, Turkey, Horse and ignoring every summoning unit is a bold choice.
That one was maddening, he legit only got to 6 win thanks to really good early level up into good units. And it showed that the run wouldn't go any further since he made a summoning squad without any summon because the swan is apparently ultimate god tier thanks to it's combat ability "do nothing in combat". I'm all for a swan, it's a legit great unit to have in an available spot since yes, it's utility is still great, but just like a scampi, he needs to learn to let them go when they're past their usefulness

its funny how NL readily takes double hedgehog but will never ever take hedgehog whale even though its objectively better in almost every way. he's addicted to hedgehog
The lost hedgehogs HP and the attack can matter a lot. Whale is pretty much only good with deer at this point
i dont see your point? just dont buff it? buff the whale instead? unless your talking about using sushi. in which case i can understand, but i would say the flexibility of being able to level up units when you find whales or hedgehogs in the shop makes more than that.
also worth noting that whale hedgehog destroys caterpillar, whereas double hedgehog does not

You'd think after NL uses the "OH NO, OUR X, IT'S BROKEN" meme for the 27th time it would stop being funny, but he somehow keeps making me laugh with it.
I actually lost it when he gave up the rooster and the fly when he had a cracked run right then and there.
Okay, correct me if I'm wrong...but wouldn't selling level 3 horse for a level 1 tiger when you already have turkey be objextively better? You break even on gold and now units are getting +3/+3 instead of +3/+0 and you have upwards mobility by levelling tiger up
Yeah ability wise it would be, but consider how the tiger had much lower stats than the horse. It would have to be at the back behind the turkey and could easily be sniped. the +3/+3 could easily turn into 0/0. Still not a bad play tho I’d just say more risky

It's videos like these that remind my how NL managed to start up like 3 seperate series of darkest dungeon and end up finishing none of them.

NL's attention span got worse and worse the more he streamed on twitch. Tbh that's what I notice happens with all live streamers as their viewership goes up. Either they develop attention span problems (ADHD especially) or they start ignoring their chat 90% of the time. Seeing him play youtube-only games is like a night and day difference, but even then he gives up very quickly when he doesn't understand something that a game does. Darkest Dungeon is definitely too long of a game to expect NL to want to finish. He just plays it until he gets bored of it, and tbh that's totally fine.
I do wish he'd make more youtube-only content because I think it's his best by far, but I understand the shift in his content creation agenda, and the large majority of his viewers are more than happy with it anyway.
@@ahhhhyes not particularly, he started once, wiped cus he was bad at it and decided to not restart again until months later, except that time he actually learned and took criticism which was great, but still wiped in the end because overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer and he got too reliant on the same tactics which ended up with him, yes you guessed it, leaving and never returning. There was the whole meme about him pledging to play it out to the end but he silently dropped the game and moved to other stuff.
@@Zebo12345678 at the end of the day it's not entirely accurate of me to compare the two. SAP is fast paced, DD is very slow paced. Either way the thing that's getting NL in BOTH is his overconfidence and familiarity with the games. Familiarity breeds contempt. He stopped paying attention to the whole picture. He will see one thing he likes in a shop, shout pog, freeze me, buff me, squeeze me, roll me, missing the bison so he ends up freezing another after his 5th roll of the same shop because he cannot afford said bison. At the end of the day he's having fun and that's what matters, and it's entertaining watching it, but watching him go for a failing hedgehog build and getting 4 wins after 5 minutes of basically nothing happening other than him repeating the words "you piece" and "X me" is equally not entertaining. It's nice to have in the background while you play something else, but this isn't the content I would ever pay 100% attention to. Which, again, is fine, I'm just bored and getting my thoughts out there because I have nothing better to do at 2am on new years day.
I think the difference is that SAP is fun.

He mostly burns down the hedgehog because he doesn’t quite know how to play it. The major advantage of the hog is that you can plan for the wide damage while your opponent can’t.
I recently had an awesome 10-win with this team:
14/15 Gorilla (lvl 2 w melon)
11/12 Skunk (lvl 2)
24/21 Rooster (lvl 3)
9/8 Hedgehog (lvl 2)
5/3 Microbe (lvl 1 w steak)
am i the only one who ever thought that it would be cool to get a team of 4 gorillaz then take a hedgehog and pill it so we have almost a full team if coconut armor
no scaling though, so you'd just have a team of weak gorillas and a hedgehog unless you did some shop buffing earlier

Hedgehog builds are just so fun. I've had a pretty late game build where everyone would just die which is super satisfying and fun. Also causes me to lose the game but it's worth it
Funnest part of this game is playing ping pong with 2 blowfish. Rarely happens but always so funny if you do get it

honey on a cricket is a true 1/1 if you aren't going for a full horse build. the bee is only as good as the attack stat of the unit it is protecting.
it's main utility is to let a glass cannon "survife" a lethal hit, which is why honey badger is so good. that is why the cricket is one of the worst units to put a bee on.

NL uses monkey all wrong, he should put it in the first position and use it as a self buffer similar to bison except he doesn’t need a level 3 to get it to pop. Then once it’s at a good stat level he can move it to buff his other pets
Both are valid uses but self buffing monkey is way funnier
