You can't go wrong with either knife. Both of them are lookers and extremely functional. We're fortunate to have so many options. Thanks for sharing.

Man, what a tough choice. I love the spear point of the RRR. I like the bolster better of the RRR as well. The burbon bone of the RCB is the winner for me. The fit and finish of the RBC, at least one mine, is much better than the RRR. I would say it's 6 of one and a half dozen of the other when it comes to which I would choose. I do like the little bit smaller size of the RRR over the RCB. Anyone looking to get either of these will be extremely happy with their choice for sure. Thanks for the video JB.

Just started watching yesterday and love it. I've not heard a bit of the knife snobbery crap. To each their own but just can't see the super steel crap. Nice to see someone appreciate a nice well made knife no matter the price. Also thanks for introducing me to rosecraft

    • @BigRedEDC

I don't get wrapped up in the super steel game. I can appreciate a good value, well made knife at many levels! Rosecraft Blades are fantastic knives

I think I agree with you that Rosecraft just slightly may be a little better but both are fantastic. . I’m glad I don’t have to choose between them because I have both. They each bring something to the table and it’s great to have both.

I love both. I do like the look of that spear point blade, and I'm sure Andy will go there again in the future. I like to be able to open a knife by pinching the blade between my thumb and index finger and the Beaver Creek does that for me. Handling my examples of both the Beaver Creek seems to me to have just a little better build quality, though they probably came from the same builder.

    • @BigRedEDC

I love both with the RRR edging out. Probably one of my favorite knife designs. I agree, some bone on the RRR would be awesome. I think it is past time for RRR to start adding bone options to their knives. I am over all the micarta. Looks like RCB is filling that void. Great video!!

My apologies for taking such a long time to watch this video. I really wanted more than just a moment to absorb all of this. This is a great video and you hit on a lot of really key points it really comes down to personal preference. But your points on the pull strength is spot-on. I prefer bone covers myself, and I am also a big Micarta fan. I'd love to see Andy produce the Beavercreek in different bone colors and different blade shapes. like for example a spear point or a clip point would be a great series. I am extremely happy with the Beavercreek Barlow as is. But he does have room to expand. Thank you for this wonderful video JB.

    Hey JB 👊
    Great comparison video, buddy 👌
I have to agree, I'd like to see a hybrid version between the two 👀
I enjoy a good Sheepsfoot and particularly love that 'full fat' Spearpoint, then add a natural material to the coverings, that would be lovely, with no lanyard hole!
To finish off... include brass linings, and I'd prefer a stamp on the bolster & no shield - just saying 😉
    Thanks for sharing buddy,
    Atb Gus 👍

Both are really nice knives. I have the RRR and see it as different than the RCB. Not only because the blade shape is different but mostly because the handle material is different. Call me shallow if you want but I place a lot of stock in the handle aesthetics/materials.

I would not even attempt to find a favorite...just glad as hell I have them. That said, the RR spring could have been stronger. In the end, I would probably do nothing more than cut fruit with any of these knives. The RRR017 started my desire for Barlows. To me the Rosecraft traditional knives are works of art and the only one I would use like a rented mule is the Appalachian Jack...the one I least wanted yet turned out I love the most. Not just a pretty face. Hopefully, RCB will offer different scales on some of these knives. The new French Broad Jack begs for Mother of Pearl scales.

Cut tests can be altered. Knives can be made Sharper or more dull depending on how the person doing the video perceives the knife. I'm here to tell you what I like and don't like about a knife. If that isn't enough...sorry!

Yes, I guess if the video creator was not trustworthy and manipulated the results you are correct, cut tests can be altered through a variety of means. I prefer to believe most creators are honest folks who would not manipulate results based upon personal bias. I could be wrong.
