I always liked and admired Tony Bennett for his personality, gracefulness, and his superior singing. He was truly a stylist. This interview makes me admire and respect him even more. RIP Mr. Bennett...
Tony certainly deserves our gratitude not only as a tremendous performer but also as a tremendously brave man for his service to his country. A true Legend.
Wow what a life, and what an experience. By the way I've did some research and Tony saw real combat in WWII. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and the Rhineland Offensive, and saw heavy casualties in his company. He also took part in liberating Kaufering Concentration Camp in Landsberg, Germany. The man has seen and experienced some truly horrible things. It is remarkable that he came out on the other side as a kind soul who loves life, and won't stand for bigotry.
He fought in the Battle of the Bulge being one of the replacements. Then he was part of a unit that liberated a concentration camp. No wonder he hates war after what he went through.
It's such a disappointment the the stern show didn't pay tribute to Eric the actor on his 20th anniversary of calling in. Listen howard might be a good interviewer but the show was at it's peek 2002-2014 RIP.
We need to elevate celebrities like Tony and others who share this message more on tv, then the Kardashaians and other self inscribed narcissists. Then our society would be less polarized and mentally optimistic.
yeah that's a silly statement. There's elder's who are stupid and elders who aren't. You don't have to respect or listen to someone just because they're old. You listen to or respect people based on their actions/words. In this case I'm sure plenty of young people would listen and respect Tony's words here. Probably few who wouldn't.
That’s because boomers have overtaken the narrative of our elders. Most of them are so entitled and arrogant, we can’t respect what they say. Mr Bennet was from a different generation. He is so humble and wise, if there were more boomers like him, we’d probably listen to what they have to say

I was about to ask how he’s still doing interviews at 96 then realized this is from 11 years ago. Still he did this at 85 which is impressive
It makes me think that u were in the war too.😂
What a great person

Life is a great great gift…
Wow. I will admit I have never really listened to much of his music, but you can't help but like him. What a life he has lived.

I don’t think he was in the battle of the bulge. His unit was not him.

Out of the mouth of babes? NO, OUT OF THE MOUTH OF A HERO ❤️
The greatest generation.

I wonder what ever happened to his friend?
and yet in America this new generation of kids have no respect or even care to hear what our elders have to say.
