One of the most underrated artists of the mid-late 90's. She was soooo much better than alot of the rest of the "chick" artists out at the time.....She was the real deal...
There is no better song to attempt to blow the speakers out of your car when you're tired of his shit and want to tell the world to kiss your ass. Rats and Racine were my themes in the mid-1990s.
Her Voice is Featured with Jude Cole's 1993 'Start the Car' breakout in your face 'Bluesy-Style' sound. Check it out! Guaranteed to "blow out your speakers get the hell out of dodge" Song! The ENTIRE CD and pretty much All the Lyrics became mantras for my broken heart and devastating hurt during my divorce! 💔
@@JReed7560 one of em is American, the other is Canadian. They both got the raspy voice, but Melissa is a little deeper. Imperial/Metric conversions are weird, eh?
Why do people feel the need to denigrate one singer over another? "A better voice than Melissa Etheridge any day" .... according to you. I think they are both great singers.
I've just discovered Sass Jordan and I am BLOWN AWAY at how great she is. I'm a 70s dude and this brings back all the best from that era. Quality all around, and kick ass too! It's a shame how American media ignores quality like this from Canada.... same thing for Jann Arden, Amanda Marshall, etc. I only stumbled on them all by sheer luck.
Sass Jordon, she's ROCK'S man, you know what i mean if anyone of you's seen her back in the day:-) late 80's & 90's she was AWESOME to see live.. I've seen her 5 times.. Twice @ Lu Lu's in Kitchener, Ont. & Clud 54 in Thorold, Ont. & twice in Toronto... Sass Kick Ass!!! A Must See!! if you ever get a chance.. Dennis:-)
Sass Jordan is one of my favorite female vocalists and a treasure from my native Canada from her stunning 80s synth pop debut tell somebody to this in my opinion her best album the badass 1994 rats just an amazing talent
I first heard this in 1994 when I bought the cassette lol. I'd forgotten how great she is! It's amazing to listen to this 30 years later, and it still sounds fresh and raw.
I just served Sass and her band at the restaurant I work at, and man. She's talented, down to earth. We had a couple of drinks after my shift ended. A definite highlight and, oh my god, she's so fucking cool its insane!!!
When this hit the radio as a young adult I bought the CD immediately. Whole album is heavy with vocals and hard rock. Can still put my hands on it right now
This was a really great album. I think by this time Sass' drug use had escalated. She wasn't the same as the Racine tour cycle. Saw her on this tour with Taylor Hawkins on drums. She deserved to be huge.
Man been listening to this tune for ......I guess 25 years??? ( Can't remember exactly when it came out) this tune is comparable to anything from the great rockers, maybe I should say rephrase this song is possibly the one that elevated her and her band to the catagory of great rockers. Great guitar work.... just awesome, pounding drums solid thumping bass. And that voice, the effortless driving force. Sass if you a reading this, I still think your are awesome. Saw you for the first time at NAIT back in 1991.
I remember leaving for working at 5 am 93 or 94 popping this CD into the player, sipping coffee and jamming to Sass on my 40 minute ride to work every morning. Great ride.
Fan since early 90 `s And Sass is just fire and steel. Great artist who should have been more popular. I`m happy that i found her for many many years ago. I `m never get tired this music.
Just Sayin Joan Jett is one of few others even in the same league. Nancy Wilson from Heart may sound entirely different, but also has incredible raw singing talent.
They should, indeed. I don`t know much about music, but my heart tells me that this might very well be the heaviest possible riff in the industry. Although a drug (protest) song, it`s written to stay there for at least 200 years........
I played in A band with A girl how sounded just like Her . The thing is My girl had A lil stronger Voice . But Sass is just so memberable , U can't beat it.....Luv her vids . Thanx 4 Posting . mykmuzyka
I love Sass Jordan. I got "Rats" when it came out in 1993.. This is beyond. Her voice, - The music. --- Can you be a little less cute? "How could you not bang your head to this?"
Christ!!! This is officially a good day now that i've found this gem. Haven't heard this tune in well over a decade. Canada had some truly great rock music back in the 90's
She got some airplay but Rock Radio from 1992-1995 in the US was in a state of flux. AOR Radio which gave birth to all of the bands now on Classic Rock radio was dying out and Alternative Rock & Grunge was taking over. She was too "classic rock" sounding for Alternative format stations to play and too new for Classic Rock stations to play and there were only a few classic AOR stations left that played everything...So she got lost in the shuffle.
c'mon now. I love sass, and this song totally kicks ass, but, RUSH and The Hip and The Guess Who have sooooo many to pick from. Gordon Lightfoot "Sundown" is possibly the best imo.
One of those songs I loved way back when and forgot about as the years passed, damn glad to find it again and remember what a kick ass song it is.Thanks for the memories and rock on my friend.
I thank CBC Saturday Night Blues for learning me on Sass Jordan. Her backup is real good. She does 'Still Got the Blues For You' with guitar work close to Gary Moore!
Rest In Peace to the drummer my husband Ricky parent the kids and I miss u everyday, I watch this video to see you alive and doing what you love to do and it breaks my heart that I can’t touch you one more time
I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a great drummer. Yoyoko, a drumming prodigy on YT, just released a cover of this song on her channel. She's does your husband proud.
I had the pleasure of jamming a few songs with him and the guitar player at a jam in Aurora,Ontario years ago. The 2 of them were awesome and it was one of the most memorable nights I have ever had, and it was because of the great musicianship. They were having a ball, and so did the rest of us RIP Ricky
I remember when this came out and it literally gave me back my believe in the future of rock music. Grunge started it but was never as funky or REAL as Sass here !!!
Its a crime she didnt make it in the States. She should have been a massive star
Bad ass Sass! England's loss was Montreal's gain!!!
One of the most underrated artists of the mid-late 90's. She was soooo much better than alot of the rest of the "chick" artists out at the time.....She was the real deal...
This is the Sass song that should have blown up. Stupid Canadian radio in '94. This album still rocks!!
Bingo!
This has had a permanent spot in my playlist for 25 years now
Yep, same here.
Had "Racine" on cassette. Played it over and over and over.......
Mine as well, it's often on loop too🎉
Nothing released these days can hold a candle to this stuff ... Nasty, grungy, rip your face off funky rock ... Man I miss this stuff ...

Thanks for saying it like it is !!! So right !!!
I'm STILL rockin' SASS JORDAN IN 2022! TIME DOESN'T CHANGE TALENT!
Definitely one of the most underrated singers of the 20-century......a better voice than Melissa Ethridge any day....
I used to argue people up & down this wasn't Melissa Ethridge
Agree!

Melissa who? Lol. Agree 1000%❤
She and the band didn't get the air play they deserved. Way underrated!
Them and Open Skyz should've been bigger than they were.
@ wide mouth mason too!
What a bad ass song that still smashes in 2023. Always love hearing this on the radio
Hell yeaaahhhhhhh, that's a rock&roll chick,1st class...Love that voice....
I always thought she was under rated. Solid Rock-N-Roll chops I say!
Definitely!
Used to argue people up and down this wasn't Melissa Ethridge.
Yes! and also the guitar solo in this is badly overlooked!
Absolutely!! She is amazzzzzzzing
This rocks. Kick ass.
why isnt this woman the biggest star in music?
Totally underrated. She kicks ASS
It's programming that determines Success Today ..
It REALLY IS...
SASS JORDAN sure DESERVES BETTER AWARENESS...
Very VERY TALENTED!

I just came across Sass from a Tok video. I can't believe I never heard of her till now. She is friggin awesome,!!

This woman is still awesome!! Love her music!!!
i made many mixed tapes when i was younger and that song was on each of them!
Incredible powerhouse vocals on this great Funky Hard Rock song
Sass Jordon, she's ROCK'S man, you know what i mean if anyone of you's seen her back in the day:-) late 80's & 90's she was AWESOME to see live.. I've seen her 5 times.. Damn. Now that voice is the real deal. And that greasy groove.
Hail yeah, thanks for the therapy.
This was killer in 1993 when I first bought it
Still killer now
If this had been vinyl I would’ve worn the grooves out of it. One of my most-played CD’s of the 90’s.
This was a really great album. I think by this time Sass' drug use had escalated. She wasn't the same as the Racine tour cycle. Saw her on this tour with Taylor Hawkins on drums. She deserved to be huge.
Taylor Hawkins took the high road easy. I know, too soon.
She should be in the conversations (and in my mind/ears she is) with the Anns and the Pats and stevies, etc. And Joanna Dean as well
Kick ass rock song!!!! 🤘🤘
Gotta love Sassy J. !!!!!!!!
just saw her in ottawa casino the joint wow what a voice still love her so much top 5 best female canadian artist thanks SASS come back soon xo
Sass and Stevie Salas - doesn't get much grittier and better than this!
This was my first actual CD.. loved it so much.
Man this album kicks so much ass!! ✌✌
Wow!!! This is so Awsome

Saw her @ The Sting in CT. She was so sick but killed it, every song!!!❤️
This song made me fall in love with Sass
Simply put, it kicks ass - all the way around!
What an amazin' voice, loved the first two albums,we need Sass doin' some shows in Ontario!
I remember leaving for working at 5 am 93 or 94 popping this CD into the player, sipping coffee and jamming to Sass on my 40 minute ride to work every morning. Great ride.
I just saw her at the Kitchener Blues Fest, she is still kicking ass...great tune!!!
Sass and Salas made a great combo. Great album!
Definately one if my top fav female singers, this lady can tear a hole in a rock and blues song🤘🤘🤘
Fan since early 90 `s And Sass is just fire and steel. Great artist who should have been more popular. I`m happy that i found her for many many years ago. I `m never get tired this music.
Sass Jordan can sing rock like no other, male or female, she is awesome.
Just Sayin Joan Jett is one of few others even in the same league. Nancy Wilson from Heart may sound entirely different, but also has incredible raw singing talent.
+OdinVonTogan Do you mean Ann Wilson. She's the lead singer. Nancy is guitar and mostly backing vocals.
+Paul Sawyer Yep.
Loved her in '92..... And I still love 💕💕 her in 2021! 😘
The greatest rock song by a female artist of all time! Not my opinion, it's a FACT OF LIFE!
Listen to this woman sing....thats a real singer and a real woman.
Always loved her voice...
A lot of artists should pay homage to Sass for writing it like it is....................
They should, indeed. I don`t know much about music, but my heart tells me that this might very well be the heaviest possible riff in the industry. Although a drug (protest) song, it`s written to stay there for at least 200 years........
nick siemens why the "protest", it"s her "big fuck you" to dope!!!
I played in A band with A girl how sounded just like Her . The thing is My girl had A lil stronger Voice . But Sass is just so memberable , U can't beat it.....Luv her vids . Thanx 4 Posting . mykmuzyka
I love this music.
The best song about H addiction in existence. Sass kicks ass. What a voice!
Alice in Chains has quite a few... "God Smack", "Sickman" and "Junk Head"
Amen.....
I think it represents all addictions in general; H, Booze, whatever ones addiction/fix is -Won't forget the pain...
Such an incredible song
Her and Alanna Myles were some of the best female rockers of their era 🤘
Their music still slaps. Timeless like Aerosmith etc.
The simple difference between a pop star and a true artist.
I hate when there's fantastic singers like her, and they don't get the airplay. Like The Angels from Australia. :(
I love Sass Jordan.
Bryan Adam's little sister? a rock n roll voice like that is Royality!!
One of my favorite women rockers of the early 90's & she still sings like this ..she's aged like a fine wine ...luv ya Sass XO 'keep rockin' !!
Pure talent, not a junkie or over sexualized pop star. Amazing voice, she is grossly under rated.
GAWD DAMN
I've loved sass ever since I became aware of her back in 92'..I can't come up with a better example of underrated kick a$$ music.
Gawd Damn funkin Hell
Oh my gawd she was amazing in her prime
I love love her voice don't hear that kind these days.
a true icon
whoohooo what a sound !!!!!!!!
really magnificent song + voice.
Sass Jordan ROCKS!!!!!
RESPECT
So rock n roll, soulful, beautiful, what more would you want in a star!
I love her. The very best female vocal in the industry
Gender be damned, vocal period. How many dudes are better? Not fucking many. I put her up against anybody personally
What a fabulous number this is and she is great!
What a great F'N song!
I wore out my tape of Rats! Hey, it was 1994. Why was she not popular here in the states? I still listen to Rats but now it's on my iPod.

c'mon now. I love sass, and this song totally kicks ass, but, RUSH and The Hip and The Guess Who have sooooo many to pick from. Gordon Lightfoot "Sundown" is possibly the best imo.

Absolutely awesome. She is one of my favorite forgotten stars.
Damn 😮❤
Woww! Haven't heard something like this for years! Thanks Sass.
We saw sass years ago in Vancouver at the PNE,rocked us good💋🍒

Fantastic song
Sass' voice, coupled with the genius of stevie salas on guitar...
Now THAT'S how you make a rock video, especially given the topic.
It's got the funk all over it too
Ur vox .................
Killer !!!
Got u a lil Joplin blood ....
Great Sass A Frass
Glad I got to see her back then ! She smoked !!
Fantastic song!!
I had the honor of doing this song in a cover band.
Awesome vocals and emotion Sass!
Canada Rocks

Thank you all this was done In Los Angeles about 20 minutes from our home he was AMAZING also was EnuffzNuff drummer and War and Peace too
That lady can SING!
If I'm wearing the scars, did I sell my soul to you?
I remember when this came out and it literally gave me back my believe in the future of rock music. Grunge started it but was never as funky or REAL as Sass here !!!
You know that she had to live the drugs and the violence to feel it this string. There is pain and anger from the depths of her soul in this song.
