@Kelly Gibson - What on Earth is your problem? People posting supportive, affectionate comments and then you come along full of bitterness and hate. You do realise you're just coming across as a nasty, close-minded bigot? You are doing yourself absolutely no favours.
You're braver, Liam, than those erstwhile straight male friends who won't speak to you. They're afraid. Straight boys who are confident of who they are and treat others with respect are not afraid to speak to or be friends with a gay boy or girl.
You're literally the cutest person ever!🙊 So glad you have now got amazing friends who are accepting of who you are, and are there for you! You're so brave and hearing about your story is truly inspiring to many, many people I'm sure. Well done for being you, and not being afraid to show who you are! Lots of love❤
Rebeca must have been a good friend to press you for being honest about who you are. It really opened the door for you. I admire you for being honest, and even though you lost friends, you stood strong for who you are. You are a great role model.
Actually, that kind of pressure can be terrifying at that age. I'm certain she meant well but she could have gone about it better. I'm glad it worked out ok though. :)
I also came out at 15, I was broken but afterwords I’ve never felt as free. I would never trade my inner spirit, my inner freedom for anything. I love my self now and I’m happy. We all have lows and highs but I really wish you happiness and piece. I know how hard this is, been there, done that. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼Stay safe❤️
You're a very very nice boy and you should be so proud of yourself. I congratulate you for being a successful teenager and I think you're a great role model for other LGBT children ! I support you 100% !
You speak well beyond your years...it's really incredible to see such a young person with the insight you have. I'm sure you already know how lucky you are to have realized who you are so early in life. It's really such a blessing and I'm proud of you, Liam, who I don't even know! All the best to you.
Really enjoyed listening to you speak, Liam. You come across as intelligent, thoughtful, and kind. Doubtless, you've a brilliant future ahead of you. I hope you find all the happiness you deserve.
Beautiful video, Liam: you did not lose any friends at all. If they were only "friends" with you because of who They mistakenly thought you to be then they're not worth grieving over. I have no doubt that armfuls of true friends are ready to ensure that your future is both beautiful and rewarding!
Greetings from L.A. Finding this vid June 2020, so old news now. But THANK YOU for posting. I know it helped someone...maybe MANY someones. You did a good (and brave) thing. Hope you're doing well. Stephen
What a brave young lad. Very proud of you! And of my daughter Rebecca, she is a good girl, very loving and supportive. Enjoy your lives guys, youre only here once xx
5 years later and your story still has impact for others. I'm glad one of your parents responded well. My parents responded well and it's certainly something to not take forgranted.
I know I don't really know you? But I absolutely support you (obviously, me being a homosexual male myself) and I'm glad that you were brave and came out to your family, even though some people might not support anything besides heterosexuality. Stay strong! c:
The mystery of TH-cam has just thrown this my way even though it may be a bit out of date BUT..... Well done, Liam, for being and becoming your true self. You now have two great gifts: first the freedom you describe to be yourself - your full and whole self - and secondly, a maturity beyond your years which gives you the power and courage to deal with anything life sends your way. How about an update. I do hope life is gong as you had hoped. Stay safe and always hopeful.
Congrats Liam! It must have really been tough going through middle and high school. School is hard enough. You reminded me of a scene in the movie "Baby Sitter" with Jonah Hill. It's a pretty funny movie. But I've heard such horror stories of coming out to parents that just don't get it. Good job on the video, I hope you inspired some kid out there that is miserable thinking it's so overwhelming that he doesn't make it. It's all about finding love for someone that shares the same love for you both to be happy together for life. I wish you happiness and someday finding the love of your life!
Just a few words. Brilliant. Brave. Inspirational and yes, you're cute. In all seriousness your insight at this age is almost unheard of. I was actually 30 before anyone knew. Having no friends made that part easier and my family were okay aside from one brother whom I haven't seen for over a decade. He visits when he knows I'm out. I live at home as a carer for my mother and she was great when she found out. My father passed away before he knew but he was a typical mans man kind of guys and don't think he would taken it so well Thanks
I admire you for being determined and come out, if they love you for the person you are they will accept you as you are, the person you are, I wonder how many supposed friends who heard of you coming back accepted you for who you are, those are true friends.
Wow, it's amazing that you already going through coming out moment at early age. I'm not out yet, still struggling with my parent though. I'm wishing you the best of luck in your life. May happiness be with you always. Looking forward for more video from you. *Keep in touch, maybe. :3* Yeah, from this fella from SEA. Peace... ^_^
I agree with your mother, Liam: I love you too! Live a happy life with the lovelyest boyfriend you can dream of and thank you very much for sharing this vid with us!
Thankyou for sharing your story... im sure it will help other young people going through the same thing. Its a very brave thing to put it out here in the great www and i applaud you for it. I wish id had your strength when i was your age. Take care my lovely. Wishing you all the best in love, health and happiness xxx
Thank you for being honest. With your straight guys friends and, especially with your dad, it must have been tough going. But it's clear that choosing to be who you are is well better than living life in the closet or dishonestly. That is what makes you a great role model. By the way, you are quite the handsome lad. A catch for a another great guy for sure! All the best to you!
My hats off to you! Thanks for posting this very inspirational story. Your really strong and videos like this really help people to find the courage within themselves to be who they are! :)
Hi Liam. Great video, great story. Thank you for sharing this with us! Oh, and by the way, as my name is Bill or William, I really have an appreciation for your first name, just saying!
Even if it may take a while for kith and kin to come around, and even if there are a few people who will no longer be in your life, it is good when one can be open and honest with who one is. I am glad to hear that it went well for you in the end. Your true friends will stick by you. Best of luck in the future! This video is going on my "Coming Out As Gay" TH-cam Playlist.
Thank you for sharing your experience. You are lucky indeed to have such good friends and such a good mother. (It's not clear if your father was ever able to accept your sexual orientation, but apparently he didn't disown you.) It took real courage to do what you did and to accept the loss of some of your friends without denying an important component of who you are. I'm sure you'll be an inspiration to other young adults in the same situation.
Liam thanks for sharing your story. So open and honest. You're such an inspiration for young gay people. Glad things have worked out OK. Such a shame about your so-called friends, because if they were true friends they'd except you for being you. They sound very immature to me. Best of luck for the future, young man!
Liam, this is about the sweetest coming out video I have seen, you are very brave to come out, you seem very young but that may be 'cause you have a baby face which is cool, take care and be happy
Well done. You speak very well, btw. I had the same "are you serious" reaction when I came out. It took a while for my friends to really believe it. (introducing my first bf helped, lol)
my dads homophobic and i have the same problem with my dad (im straight)but i know my dad is homophobic but i acept anyone for who they want to be ✌🍏🍎🍏🍎✌
1:35 priceless ;-) btw it really looks like my coming out story haha. ps you really look very good :o you'll be just fine really hope the situation with your dad improved ;-) xxx, robbert
Hello Liam. Old gay guy from the U.S. here. You were very brave sharing your story here. I know it's very hard to do. It's flat scary especially to tell your parents. We can live without our friends but mum and dad, well they're pretty important. I'll bet you feel free inside like never before don't you. It's a wonderful thing. The friends you lost I know hurt you a lot. But you have to look at it like they weren't truly your friends were they. Their loss more then yours. Reading below I can see you have a lot of support. And you'll find more as you get older. Here is the important thing Liam. You are beautiful inside and out and you deserve to be happy. So be happy and comfortable in your own skin. Ignore the comments, they have small minds and they'll probably end up working for you in the future. So work hard and continue to love you. You're a pretty special person and those who will take the time to know you will see that. Thanks for sharing your story. And pay a little more attention to Grass who sits in front of you in one of your classes. If he's here listening to these coming out videos it means he is probably going to need a friend who is fiercely strong like you. Be happy. You "deserve" to be happy. Hugz.
I'm 15 years old, and I wish my parents weren't so... Idk they wouldn't take it well..... They are religious and all and don't support gays. I asked him one day what he would do if I was gay, and he said that it would be the worst thing I could tell him and that he would not want me around his other kids or anyone in the family. I'm kinda stuck... I wish I could come out to anyone because I would be happier. Just thinking about being out would make me happier... But congrats on coming out. I know it's really hard just to say those words.
Well man i know this was five years ago but good for you. To bad your dad was like that. Anyway my stepsister was gay. Her and i were very close. I lost her in 2002 to drugs. A lot more i'd like to say but not here. Take Care and be Safe.
You're adorable, Liam. Things have changed dramatically since I came out 1982. Wow. It's so much more acceptable. Not everyone will be accepting though. You've found that out. However, we must go on so you just move on with your life.
