Bless you ❤❤❤ Especially the suggested swaps. I find the talent trees overwhelming dungeon to dungeon a lot of times when I need to swap just one thing. ❤❤❤
Totemic is feeling incredible in dungeons. I love it. The repositioning and instant cast of the surge totem is a lot of fun. The chain heals bouncing all over the place is a fun as well.
Awesome vid - thanks Theun! How does Totemic Projection interact with the hero talents? Specifically, does using Totemic projection cause healing stream totems to fire off chain heals when they're replaced? Does it reset the whirling elements stack counts so that you can use them again off the same totem?
Nah it simply moves the totems and that’s it, most useful for wind rush, surging totem, spirit link, and earthen wall but it’ll move any active totems that you have
Picking up shaman again after Shadowlands. Maybe I don't understand it right, but for what do you use Totemic Recall? It doesn't work with Surging Totem (can't have 2 active apparently), Spirit Link or Healing Tide Totem (Cooldown is too long). Is it just for the utility totems or Healing Stream / Cloudburst ?
Mostly for healing stream and cloudburst totem, can use it on earthen wall as well. There’s a very niche scenario where using it on surging totem is good specifically because of how good downpour is for Totemic, but it is *very* costly to do that so I wouldn’t recommend it without a good plan
@@theunwow thanks for the quick answer. So maybe I can skip it. I just saw it in every guide and rarely I feel like I need a third healing stream right now. At least now, again low stuff for now until I get back into the groove
Yeah it’s fine to skip it if you’re okay missing out on an extra totem here and there. It’s not a massive healing increase but generally we just take any healing increases we can on the class tree, so that’s why you’ll see it picked a lot
Jesus, how complicated do Blizz need to make this. Every expansion I consider running a healer, then when confronted with joining a queue for m+ i never do because of being responsible for keeping the group alive and not confident I have any idea what to do because this stuff isn't made easy.
Main Monk healer for 3 expansions and yes, its stresfull but...in reality u dont blame urself for everything, when u have a nice group its much more fun and fluid, when people know when to drop defensives, avoid ground shit and pop offensives stuff work out well and if someone dies its just one death just like dps or tanks that make mistakes..main thing is 1. Get good addons 2. Study dungeons 3. Get comfortable with screwing up so u dont panick. If you get angry and stressed then ur either not comfortable enough with healing so u need more practice or just dont play it maybe it isnt ur style...Bottom thing is you get better at it and gain confidence, mostly tanks or healers are dungeon leads so...that speaks for itslef
Just go for it bruv. Anyone who would rag on you are cringelords and that's rare, especially at lower difficulties Legit just play through dungeons on +0 or even heroic to get a feel for it. Avoid normal because it's so brain-dead you won't even know if you're doing anything correctly
has anyone else noticed when trying to drop earthliving weapon the hero talent imbuement mastery doesent allow you to do this, so youre kinda forced into taking earthliving for all scenarios
Imbuement mastery does still work if you unselect earthliving weapon, imports are just a little bugged. It will turn red, but the talent still works (as of September 2, 2024)
As far as I am concerned, nerfing PW will feel good, even if you prompt to take it. It is annoying when it overheals for 50% or more, because the 3-4 players that have riptide on them got to almost full health before your healing wave cast ended. It is also still an almost mana free AoE heal, so if you have nowhere else to spend that talent point, you can still use it and not cry if your HW cast is 0,1sec too slow.
The thing is there are other REALLY good ways to use that point, even if you take tidewaters. Personally Ive never been a huge fan of PWave cleaves, especially in raid, for the EXACT reason you just described. The cast time is too long. Especially if RT hits like a wet noodle (like in S1, less of an issue as you gear up a bit). The only way I might consider it would be in farseer since you can not use ancestral swiftness every 30s with PWave so it is insta cast every time. You can precast the RT on known incoming damage and then insta Cleave for a mini CD every 30s. Not a terrible way to handle things. Plus you drop an ancestor with the AS and if you have undulation setup you can trigger 3-4 with just one cast. That would allow you to use the cleave and then spam Surge during a damage window. Not my playstyle exactly, but it might be worth trying.
In theory you could use the orb combined with totems or CH spam to do some jacked healed in M+. But honestly I think if you run earthsurge that the extra 10% heals from the non orb earthliving procs you get combined with the enhanced imbues would make the point pretty valuable. However, playing into the orbs is nasty, so maybe the ELW proc outside the orb window is not needed?
Heya, you skimmed past high tide and I'm wondering why we seem to no longer take it, I remember high tide being a very powerful talent in dragonflight, and it feels odd to me that most Rsham guides and content creators dont seem to be taking it. Shouldn't high tide be synergistic with the totemic hero talents and its mana hunger/ free chain heals? Thanks you.
You will take it any time you’re playing chain heal stuff (totemic will always play it) it just didn’t really change so it’s just as good as it was in DF
Healing rain should just be instant cast, baseline. Druids have instant cast efflo since forever so shamans should have the same. Makes no sense to have that cast time, it just feels really bad.
Healing rain is more potent and more powerful then efflo. In terms of gameplay wise tho, i agree..it should be baseline instant cast. Shamans should also have 2 charges of Spiritwalkers grace.
You will never be brought to a raid as a resto shaman. You will never know what a class buff is and how important it is for the party or the raid. Another thing you’re doing is trying to maximise your hps which is 50% potential of a mistweaver at best. I don’t care what Voulk charts show but the scenarios where resto shaman is competitive are hypothetical at best.
How cool to stumble on a video by the guy who wrote the wowhead guide! Ty friend.
Love it, how blessed are we to get a resto video from the man himself
Bless you ❤❤❤ Especially the suggested swaps. I find the talent trees overwhelming dungeon to dungeon a lot of times when I need to swap just one thing. ❤❤❤
Haven’t healed before on an xpac release, tanked last time. Lookin forward to shammy healing. This is very informative. Thanks!
Totemic is feeling incredible in dungeons. I love it. The repositioning and instant cast of the surge totem is a lot of fun. The chain heals bouncing all over the place is a fun as well.
Thank god. i knew you would have a shaman guide.
Thank you Theun! 😃
Do you ever pick Wellspring or Unleash Life with riptid farseer m+ builds? What do you exchange them for in that case
Thanks so much for making this, really appreciate it.
Love this guide! Ty
Amazing!! Thank you!
Farseer > Totemic
PS: Chainheal build works pretty well with Farseer. Just a bit mana intensive
Playing a totemic resto shaman feels like healing as Batman. I have 10 totems on my bar, one of them ought to save these guys.
thank you for the video, very informative
Theun not dooming. Shaman must be in a very good spot.
Awesome vid - thanks Theun!

Great video bro!
For M+, what's the current mana water?
I don't see myself using healing wave at all and won't be talenting primordial wave either. Just too slow , and mana isn't an issue typically.

Replace Pwave with Chain Harvest :)
I have been saying this for so long !

Whats the best raid build for pure hps in your opinion?
So as totemic in M+ how should we heal without using CH as much to try and have mana? Riptide, healing stream and UL ?
Yeah, and use your cooldowns. We have a lot of CDs, can often have one available for every pack which helps a lot
What professions if any make sense for shaman going into tww?
My HR is also bound to G !
:)

Is earthliving still not great in m+ even with enhanced imbues? Or is it unnecessary as totemic?

Nice vid
What does the air orb do on that totem? How do you use it?
Just makes your next cast faster, nothing you really need to try to use it on, just makes the spec feel nice
😍😍😍
I’m so sad primordial wave isn’t that good going into TWW, even though I’m one of the few resto shamans that really enjoy it 😅
It's fine when playing farseer in m+, coupled with ancestral swiftness HW and unleash life

Agreed, or be able to cast it when moving.
Healing rain is more potent and more powerful then efflo.
In terms of gameplay wise tho, i agree..it should be baseline instant cast.
Shamans should also have 2 charges of Spiritwalkers grace.
Id rather have a nerfed instant healing rain than a stronger castable healing rain @Knasern
@@KC-py5vq yup agree.
I cant find a guide that tells you or shows you how to heal lol. All are just talking about what talents to use

Doomer alert
how did voulk just catch a random stray here LMFAO
I think this is Voulk trolling you Theun😂
I think his step dad must be a resto shaman
