    I watch a lot of gardening channels but yours is the absolute best because is so relatable to a regular size home/garden space. It is amazing what you and your husband have achieved in an urban space. Please grace us with your beautiful garden more often.Thank you for sharing

    I was completely thrilled when I saw one of your videos out. I don't know if you follow Laura from Garden Answer, but she has been having people submit their garden before and afters. I immediately thought of you, especially for the category of "skinny sideyards" Now on to watching yours for a second time.

      Hi Marilyn, I'll check it out. I learned about this great Dalmation Peach Foxglove on Garden Answer. It blooms in the first year from seed. Absolutely stunning and long-blooming. It's so nice that you'd watch the video twice! 🌝🌹🌿

    Roseanne, I was fortunate to lead tours through your garden a few years ago and it was so soothing to visit it again in this video. I love your use of shrubs and smaller trees and it is always reassuring to see how a garden can go from ideas and wish lists to reality, often looking so lovely in just a few years. Can’t wait until our zone 4 thaws and we can both dig in again. Please post more content soon. I always learn some tidbit from you and just love looking at your garden.

Because today was sunny with fresh snow, I was in the back yard filming this afternoon. You never know when you'll want nice winter-interest film footage. I absolutely adore your yard and love your videos! My style is very similar to yours, however my gardens are much, much younger. Seeing your mature landscape gives me wonderful ideas and keeps me wanting to learn more and more. I'm also obsessed with natural stone, so the work your husband has done makes me heart sing. I'm an avid gardener, having dabbled in planting my own shrubs and such since the mid 90's around the couple of homes we lived in, moving on to creating container displays with flowers in the early 2000's (raising 4 busy children didn't leave me much time outside of that) and finally since 2015 after we built our home to grow old in and became empty nesters, I have poured my heart and soul into creating a paradise in our yard. It's because of others like you, that I've gained so much inspiration along the way. Thank you for sharing your lovely gardens with all of us!

      Hi Gina, You've outdone yourself in your flattery 🌝. I've almost finished telling the story of our garden, so am thinking of doing videos tours of some local public and private gardens this summer. Thoughts? Oh, and Frank Cabot's gardens are really spectacular! Steve and I did see the documentary. It was so fun to see each new type of garden. Just when you think it can't get better, there's another new garden. Now I want to re-watch it! Elsie, is now gone. She truly was a great dog. The spry pup you saw doing laps is Dolly, also a great dog.
      As always, thanks for the encouragement! 😘

    This is an excellent video! The detail is amazing and very much appreciated. Specifically, I loved how you showed your plan, labels on your plan, and then how it looks in real life. Seeing the changes over time was also incredibly valuable. I've been gardening for years in a similar zone in Canada. You really opened my eyes to why I would bother with annuals and annual bulbs because you showed exactly what they added to your garden. I'm so grateful to have seen this while it's still early enough to start some seeds and find some bulbs. Educational. Inspiring. Very clear. It's time to rewatch and make notes!

    Hi Rosanne. I love looking at your garden and especially the good advice which you give to us novices you have really helped me a lot. Unfortunately I have to say that I am really jealous of the amount of garden area what you have, still beggars can't be choosers so I'm making the most of my little plot here in the North of the UK. I'm a Lilly Lover of all varieties so you have been a great help especially with your Cala Lillies & Roses which I have 31 varieties, also I'm a Bleeding Heart Lover so all in all I'm happy with my lot. Thank You for your lovely Videos from Stuart in Lancashire UK.

      Greetings to Lancashire, UK! Thank you Stuart; that is very kind of you to say. I don't really think of our 1/4 acre lot as large, until it's time to weed 😉. Then, it's huge. I love Dicentra also and last year planted Dutchman's Breeches for the first time. They died out quickly and I hope they return this Spring. I'm not so sure, however. It sounds like you have a splendid collection of Roses. Well done! Thanks for your comments and all the best in your gardening endeavors! 🌷🌿🌹

    Wow!! Ms Rosannes!! Thank you for sharing your precious designing process and the evolution of your gorgeous garden over the years!! It’s nothing short of amazing eyes and vision of beauty and cohesiveness!! I was sad to see the elm tree bench was gone but I really appreciate the rock bench your crafty husband created and the other stone work he did! What a great team you guys are!! You guys truly have an enchanted garden! I’m only on my second year and I’ve a long way to go with our own garden in south Texas!! I hope my garden in some days in the future will look as harmonious as yours!! Thank you sharing !! 👏👏👏😃

      Greetings to South Texas! I am so happy to hear that you are enjoying my channel. My husband and I love sharing our garden, and the process of how we got where we are. Planning and planting and tending a garden is not linear. I hope to convey that in my videos. I think it’s exciting to be so early in the stages of developing your garden. Perhaps you have read in other of my comments, but my husband and I have moved to a new home. That means a new garden as well. I hope to build a new garden, although it will never be as ambitious as our last enchanted garden. Please stay tuned, and I hope my videos will not disappoint. Lastly, my apologies for the very tardy response. There has been a lot going on, but I hope to be back in the gardening business come spring. Have a wonderful 2024!

    My father sculpted a Siamese cat so life like that our cat, Riley hissed at it. He used the wood from a Sycamore tree which was removed from the back yard. Your bench is beautiful. Your garden and home lovely and you and your husband enjoy creating everything together. Dreamy. Elsie is lovey.

    I started watching this because of the wow factor and also because I love cottage style gardens. I subscribed because it is such a well produced and informative video. Thank you for including all the plant names and in latin too. This is especially helpful because I'm in England where the common names can be very different to American ones. For instance we would call Centaurea montana, perennial cornflower or knapweed. I really love the garden and it is so interesting to see how it has evolved over the years.

    • @RosannesGarden
      @RosannesGarden  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Greetings to England! You are so right about differences in plant names around the world; I have no doubt that adding Latin names allow easier, unambiguous communication. At any rate, glad you enjoyed the garden and the video journey of it! 🌺🌻🌳

    • @RosannesGarden
      @RosannesGarden  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed the garden journey 🌞. There are so many wonderful plants that are quite happy here in Zone 4. But, Zone 5 really does open up a lot of possibilities. Maybe you tread slowly and introduce both Zone 4 and Zone 5 plantings. I'm cautious too. I hate it when plants don't come back after winter.
