I feel like the shadow fruit could actually be very powerful in the hands of someone as creative as Luffy. Moria used Shadow Revolution on Oars to manipulate his shadow and make him stretch so if Luffy figures out how to do that to himself then he has complete control of the shape and form of his body. I’m sure I don’t need to state how strong Luffy could make that ability.

I completely disagree about the shadow fruit! The main use of the shadow fruit isn’t making zombies, that’s just how we see Gecko using it. But in the hands of a different wielder I can imagine him using it in all sorts of different ways! Like instead of tearing out peoples shadows, he’d develop techniques to bind them with their own shadows, or make peoples shadows turn on them! And that’s not even taking into account the infinite malleability he can give himself through his own shadow! I actually think, out of all the devil fruits this one fits luffy the most! As it allows his creativity to flow and go WILD!
Also, does the shadows of others have to be human? Since he often kills animals for food, and there was a lot of giant animals in his home island. So he could be very strong if they are used.

The swapping place abilities of the shadow fruit easly beats croc, the shadow is immune to crocs touch and sand attacks, sea prism stone is shown throughout the story having no affect on byproducts of devil fruits so the shadow would easily escape the cage and the ability to change the shadow into whatever you want is a well of potential in the hands of someone like luffy
Rubber is honestly the perfect fruit choice for Luffy and whenever Luffy is in a fight I just think "he would probably be dead by now from all those attacks if he wasn't made out of rubber"

i believe the paw2 fruit works exactly the same as most paramecia when it comes to interaction with with enemy haki. its a binary thing, either your haki is strong enough to bypass your targets or it isn't. most likely luffy would just coat shockwaves with haki and teleport around to fight kaido, which he can probably win.
The shadow devil fruit has so much more potential that Luffy would realise like invincible shadow armour and a shadow weapon that can transform into any weapon since his shadow can be transform into anything or he could model a shadow clone after someone he admires like garp or shanks which would scare most people because of their reputation. If Luffy played dirty he could make a clone of kaido that is infused with haki like how Ben Beckman infuses his bullets with haki to fight the real kaido to tire him out and if Luffy base strength was strong enough I think he could beat kaido with invincible shadow armour and an invincible shadow weapon that can transform into anything infused with advanced haki and advanced conquers could have a good chance at beating kaido. You missed 2 important details. The new fruits would still all be powerful enough to fend off Higama. Meaning Shanks never losses an arm to the Lord of the coast. Meaning Shanks is even more op. And all of these fruits would easily cause Luffy to bypass Alvida and Coby so Coby never gets rescued.

How would Luffy fair with the Yonkos' devil fruits? Not counting the new ones and Shanks since he doesn't have one, it would be Whitebeard, Kaido, Big Mom and Blackbeard. Honestly just posting this question because it's fun to think about Luffy with the soul soul fruit, I think his homies would be very creative, though I am guessing he would only use his own soul for creating them (maybe use the lifespan of some villains?)

Actually if Luffy had the sand fruit, he would probably lose to arlong, or Hody assuming he didn't lose the previous. They both used water related attacks which hard counter the sand fruit and also Luffy didn't know Haki that early on.

@@9hundun516 Luffy's strength in the beginning relied alot on his DF. The rubber ability allowed him to reach far with his limbs and attack from a distance and also to not feel blunt attacks. So it does matter, the sand fruit relies on different things and it's power is mainly in the movement, and ability to suck you dry (giggity). So if you get wet and can't use those advantages, you're likely to lose if you can't get close enough, even if you're physically stronger

I don't know, if we assume Boa's fruit works on any strong emotion towards the user and not just lust, it would work very well for Luffy. Lots of people feel VERY strongly about him. Though the most accurate fruit for Luffy besides the Nika fruit would really be the Pump Pump fruit.
i like to think string luffy would have the same crew but they too would be slightly different with the "connections" he would form like i think part of the fruits personality is the underground king pin more so then manipulating people, for example Zoro is still a swords man but he has 3 different sword types instead of 3 katanas and he alternates his style based on the opponent "claymore style, rapier style", Sanji could be given Sea Stone shoes just like back in the day we all thought rayleigh had sea stone sandals, Usopp uses a gun like his father and two quick draw pistols, Nami could have her original design battle Axe and cyborg arm, chopper would be encouraged to study his rumble balls more and as for robin she would probably be the same but also use some of her past underground world knowledge to give them new connections, the Franky family would still be a secondary crime unit and probably the original grand fleet where Brook would probably be used more as a battle general and also a scout...basically straw hat pirates with a plan aka the heart pirates wet dream

Luffy with the shadow fruit would loose fights but the people of the kingdom would probably offer their shadows to him so he can fight for their freedom on their behalf. He would then return the shadows after the battle. Luffy is not so pure that he wouldn’t use that power.

Boa's fruit would make sense for Luffy if you think of it not as requiring attraction but maybe as a result of being inspired by Luffy or admiring Luffy. He has inspired entire nations on multiple occasions and would be very powerful for him with that interpretation.

Shadow Luffy has a literal 'Instant Win' Button for any enemy, so long as it's daytime. He steals their shadow and they're already in the sunlight. They turn to dust like that one guy that Brook saw in Canon because they no longer have their shadows.
I think Shadow Luffy would actually steal Crocodile's shadow. He might not rely on that ability normally because of the type of person he is, but I can see someone like Croc driving Luffy to deciding that he should take Croc's shadow, because this will limit Croc's movement during the daylight.

Hancock's fruit in Luffy's hand would be absolutely devastating though! It works based on strong emotions, rather than love or lust like we used to think. I can't think of a single person or group that Luffy has fought that he didn't piss off to the point of bursting a blood vessel in their forehead. The fights would be over really quickly. Hancock just finds it easier to seduce people into the effects of her fruit.
Luffy could be the most powerful armament haki user with paw, technically speaking, luffy could use armament on his feet and use his hands to propell himself with his paw fruit at insane speeds to effectively deal deadly blows at a pace where blocking would just rip your arms off

Also nothing prevents luffy from having a shadow get water to cover Crocadile in, or even possibly doing a peter pan grabbing his shadow to prevent him from moving and we dont know if a logia can logia out if their shadow is stuck. Imagine Luffy taking the shadow of Doflamingo and then just handing him over to be kept in jail. The guy can’t try to escape or risk fearing death by the sunlight. At minimum Luffy could put them in some shady place and then give their shadow back to them later. His fight against crocodile is based on the fact the shadow won’t be able to hit a logia. Not to mention his shadow could just take all the hits for him while luffy thinks of a plan, such as cutting Crocodile’s shadow to put him to sleep for a couple of days. You giving up here was kind of weak sauce. Not to mention if he fought Enel, all he would have to do is survive long enough to take his shadow. And considering Luffy would be able to use his shadow as a shield or borrow the shadows of different animals he plans on eating, I see no reason why he couldn’t use those to assist him in his fight with the electro slim shady, the false god. Or throwing an animal shadow into other helpers like Zorro or Sanji until they can steal the shadow. So yeah, I think it’s entirely do able. Honestly I think that fruit could carry him a lot father than you think especially since he would borrow shadows from animals, and people willing to give them up willingly to beat a big bad. Or even just straight up taking it from villains saying he’ll give it back later. I think you just didn’t want to put in the leg work.
You can do so much more with the shadow clone if he has the imagination like take pieces out of The Shadow and make them into weapons for you to fight why you still have the rest of your Shadow fighting for you as support
I’m not entirely sure how well haki would combine with the paw fruit but if it doesn’t combine well Luffy could use the fruit to launch himself at his enemies at top speeds and hit them with armament haki.
Munch Munch Luffy would be unstoppable and in general more effective in dealing with conflicts. He gets an easier dub against Crocodile and Enel by gaining more access to elemental counters, can rehydrate himself with anything he ate/drank under 48 hours ago (even cacti or wood), and could eat the molten ball of gold that otherwise shackles Gomu Gomu Luffy. In both situations he could also build infrastructure that solves other societal problems, including water infrastructure to end the drought in Alabasta. Aokiji gets countered by a salt form, meaning Luffy wouldn't get frozen and might even be able to thaw Robin on the spot. Luffy could not only fix the Merry but enhance it even to the point that Franky has relatively little to improve on. Though once teamed up they could remake the Merry into a ship that surpasses Sunny. Lucci would have to deal with a Luffy that literally has an iron body, or rather a super-metal body that is superior to iron, and one that has effectively infinite stamina through Munch Munch life-release combos. Luffy could make any key that they need. Against Oars-Moriah, Luffy could eat enough to become an even bigger giant. He could also create a temporary umbrella to prevent the Sun from threatening anyone who lost their shadow. Kuma would be surprised by Luffy's creativity and would even take damage from a bite attack (being able to eat anything means being able to chew metal or any other hard material). The pacifista get wrecked, in part because Luffy can use mirrors to reflect their beam attacks. This option even applies to Kizaru, but Silvers would still need to save them before Kuma separates the group. Against Magellan, Luffy has no shortage of barriers to protect himself like with the wax that Mr.3 provides. He could also eat his way through the floors, ceiling, and walls in order to take a direct route to any cell block he desires. There would be no capture. This makes what follows too different to really comment on, but he ends up with better options in every single other scenario, with impacts not only on fights but on other major struggles (accessing Punk Hazard, freeing Tontattas and other prisoners, scaling Zunesha and treating the injured leg, etc).

How would Luffy fair with the Yonkos' devil fruits? Not counting the new ones and Shanks since he doesn't have one, it would be Whitebeard, Kaido, Big Mom and Blackbeard. Honestly just posting this question because it's fun to think about Luffy with the soul soul fruit, I think his homies would be very creative, though I am guessing he would only use his own soul for creating them (maybe use the lifespan of some villains?)

Actually if Luffy had the sand fruit, he would probably lose to arlong, or Hody assuming he didn't lose the previous. They both used water related attacks which hard counter the sand fruit and also Luffy didn't know Haki that early on.

@@9hundun516 Luffy's strength in the beginning relied alot on his DF. The rubber ability allowed him to reach far with his limbs and attack from a distance and also to not feel blunt attacks. So it does matter, the sand fruit relies on different things and it's power is mainly in the movement, and ability to suck you dry (giggity). So if you get wet and can't use those advantages, you're likely to lose if you can't get close enough, even if you're physically stronger

I don't know, if we assume Boa's fruit works on any strong emotion towards the user and not just lust, it would work very well for Luffy. Lots of people feel VERY strongly about him. Though the most accurate fruit for Luffy besides the Nika fruit would really be the Pump Pump fruit.

i like to think string luffy would have the same crew but they too would be slightly different with the "connections" he would form like i think part of the fruits personality is the underground king pin more so then manipulating people, for example Zoro is still a swords man but he has 3 different sword types instead of 3 katanas and he alternates his style based on the opponent "claymore style, rapier style", Sanji could be given Sea Stone shoes just like back in the day we all thought rayleigh had sea stone sandals, Usopp uses a gun like his father and two quick draw pistols, Nami could have her original design battle Axe and cyborg arm, chopper would be encouraged to study his rumble balls more and as for robin she would probably be the same but also use some of her past underground world knowledge to give them new connections, the Franky family would still be a secondary crime unit and probably the original grand fleet where Brook would probably be used more as a battle general and also a scout...basically straw hat pirates with a plan aka the heart pirates wet dream

Wouldn’t Luffy physically be far stronger thanks to not wasting all of those years trying to throw a powerful punch as a rubber man, honestly he would probably learn haki sooner with his options of using his powers being far more limiting, and with all of that free time he gained, he would either work on perfecting his new fruit, making himself physically stronger or pushing himself to new heights, or all of the above.

Luffy with the shadow fruit would loose fights but the people of the kingdom would probably offer their shadows to him so he can fight for their freedom on their behalf. He would then return the shadows after the battle. Luffy is not so pure that he wouldn’t use that power.

I think Shadow Luffy would actually steal Crocodile's shadow. He might not rely on that ability normally because of the type of person he is, but I can see someone like Croc driving Luffy to deciding that he should take Croc's shadow, because this will limit Croc's movement during the daylight.
Glass can naturally form from sand being struck with lightning. Enel is a counter to Crocodile/ Sand Luffy.

I am not sure if haki gets stronger with "struggle" like zenkai boosts in DB. If so we must asssume Kaido the "strongest being" got his ass kicked all his life until he got his powerful haki. I always thought of haki getting stronger with intense emotions in a life or death battle with high stakes.

Can we all just agree that shafow manipulation is one of the most insanely underrated/op powers in all of fiction and moria isn't just lazy but also too incompetent to realize the absolutely absurd power he wields and probable doesn't even try ro test his powers in fact as far as I'm concerned the reason DOFFY tried to kill him at the end of MARINEFORD is because the five elsers realise how op shadow powers are after all the one who commands the shadows has absolute dominion over everyone and everything that dwells within them!!! Imagine Luffy taking the shadow of Doflamingo and then just handing him over to be kept in jail. The guy can’t try to escape or risk fearing death by the sunlight. At minimum Luffy could put them in some shady place and then give their shadow back to them later.
His fight against crocodile is based on the fact the shadow won’t be able to hit a logia. Not to mention his shadow could just take all the hits for him while luffy thinks of a plan, such as cutting Crocodile’s shadow to put him to sleep for a couple of days. You giving up here was kind of weak sauce. Not to mention if he fought Enel, all he would have to do is survive long enough to take his shadow. And considering Luffy would be able to use his shadow as a shield or borrow the shadows of different animals he plans on eating, I see no reason why he couldn’t use those to assist him in his fight with the electro slim shady, the false god. Or throwing an animal shadow into other helpers like Zorro or Sanji until they can steal the shadow. So yeah, I think it’s entirely do able.
Honestly I think that fruit could carry him a lot father than you think especially since he would borrow shadows from animals, and people willing to give them up willingly to beat a big bad. Or even just straight up taking it from villains saying he’ll give it back later.

I’m not entirely sure how well haki would combine with the paw fruit but if it doesn’t combine well Luffy could use the fruit to launch himself at his enemies at top speeds and hit them with armament haki.

Munch Munch Luffy would be unstoppable and in general more effective in dealing with conflicts.
He gets an easier dub against Crocodile and Enel by gaining more access to elemental counters, can rehydrate himself with anything he ate/drank under 48 hours ago (even cacti or wood), and could eat the molten ball of gold that otherwise shackles Gomu Gomu Luffy. In both situations he could also build infrastructure that solves other societal problems, including water infrastructure to end the drought in Alabasta.
Aokiji gets countered by a salt form, meaning Luffy wouldn't get frozen and might even be able to thaw Robin on the spot. Luffy could not only fix the Merry but enhance it even to the point that Franky has relatively little to improve on. Though once teamed up they could remake the Merry into a ship that surpasses Sunny.
Lucci would have to deal with a Luffy that literally has an iron body, or rather a super-metal body that is superior to iron, and one that has effectively infinite stamina through Munch Munch life-release combos. Luffy could make any key that they need. Against Oars-Moriah, Luffy could eat enough to become an even bigger giant. He could also create a temporary umbrella to prevent the Sun from threatening anyone who lost their shadow. Kuma would be surprised by Luffy's creativity and would even take damage from a bite attack (being able to eat anything means being able to chew metal or any other hard material).
The pacifista get wrecked, in part because Luffy can use mirrors to reflect their beam attacks. This option even applies to Kizaru, but Silvers would still need to save them before Kuma separates the group. Against Magellan, Luffy has no shortage of barriers to protect himself like with the wax that Mr.3 provides. He could also eat his way through the floors, ceiling, and walls in order to take a direct route to any cell block he desires. There would be no capture. This makes what follows too different to really comment on, but he ends up with better options in every single other scenario, with impacts not only on fights but on other major struggles (accessing Punk Hazard, freeing Tontattas and other prisoners, scaling Zunesha and treating the injured leg, etc).
