I feel like the shadow fruit could actually be very powerful in the hands of someone as creative as Luffy. Moria used Shadow Revolution on Oars to manipulate his shadow and make him stretch so if Luffy figures out how to do that to himself then he has complete control of the shape and form of his body. I’m sure I don’t need to state how strong Luffy could make that ability.

naah luffy's fruit is insane cos it is only limited by his imagination. Theoretically, if Luffy thought he could eat multiple devil fruits, he could have several, which is the twist, unlike the shadow fruit.

I completely disagree about the shadow fruit! The main use of the shadow fruit isn’t making zombies, that’s just how we see Gecko using it. But in the hands of a different wielder I can imagine him using it in all sorts of different ways! Like instead of tearing out peoples shadows, he’d develop techniques to bind them with their own shadows, or make peoples shadows turn on them! And that’s not even taking into account the infinite malleability he can give himself through his own shadow! I actually think, out of all the devil fruits this one fits luffy the most! As it allows his creativity to flow and go WILD!

The swapping place abilities of the shadow fruit easly beats croc, the shadow is immune to crocs touch and sand attacks, sea prism stone is shown throughout the story having no affect on byproducts of devil fruits so the shadow would easily escape the cage and the ability to change the shadow into whatever you want is a well of potential in the hands of someone like luffy

I just had a thought. What if the ability to push away "concepts" is the awakened version of the Paw Fruit and he can only repel physical stuff at first?
Nikyu is a paramecia so the awk would be well, fucking crazy he can make walls repel you, floors, air, you would get destroyed
i believe the paw2 fruit works exactly the same as most paramecia when it comes to interaction with with enemy haki. its a binary thing, either your haki is strong enough to bypass your targets or it isn't. most likely luffy would just coat shockwaves with haki and teleport around to fight kaido, which he can probably win.
Rubber is honestly the perfect fruit choice for Luffy and whenever Luffy is in a fight I just think "he would probably be dead by now from all those attacks if he wasn't made out of rubber"
With the Munch Munch fruit he could still be rubber, or metal, or a giant, or a cyborg...it's actually insanely overpowered. Wapol is just lazy and uncreative.

The shadow devil fruit has so much more potential that Luffy would realise like invincible shadow armour and a shadow weapon that can transform into any weapon since his shadow can be transform into anything or he could model a shadow clone after someone he admires like garp or shanks which would scare most people because of their reputation. Also Luffy could make a massive invincible shadow fist balloon to imitate what would have been gear 3. Also a invincible shadow prison that can only broken out of by teleportation or a logia if Luffy was stupid enough to leave a gap. Also an invincible shadow shield that doesn't need to be attached to Luffy so he can protect his crewmates even if he was on the otherside of an island. If Luffy played dirty he could make a clone of kaido that is infused with haki like how Ben Beckman infuses his bullets with haki to fight the real kaido to tire him out and if Luffy base strength was strong enough I think he could beat kaido with invincible shadow armour and an invincible shadow weapon that can transform into anything infused with advanced haki and advanced conquers could have a good chance at beating kaido. The shadow devil fruit is very underrated.

How would Luffy fair with the Yonkos' devil fruits? Not counting the new ones and Shanks since he doesn't have one, it would be Whitebeard, Kaido, Big Mom and Blackbeard. Honestly just posting this question because it's fun to think about Luffy with the soul soul fruit, I think his homies would be very creative, though I am guessing he would only use his own soul for creating them (maybe use the lifespan of some villains?)

if the theory of the love love fruit actually petrifing people with any strong emotion towards the user, redemption arc villains like bellamy first would be unnafected then seeing them being petrified mid battle like maybe with katakuri would be a seriously good storytelling device and cool way to write a change of character
You missed 2 important details.
The new fruits would still all be powerful enough to fend off Higama. Meaning Shanks never losses an arm to the Lord of the coast. Meaning Shanks is even more op.
And all of these fruits would easily cause Luffy to bypass Alvida and Coby so Coby never gets rescued.
I don't think those 2 events are related to the main story so far .

Shanks being a lot stronger would also have Mihawk Stronger, his Rival was keeping him always pushing, for example.

Actually if Luffy had the sand fruit, he would probably lose to arlong, or Hody assuming he didn't lose the previous. They both used water related attacks which hard counter the sand fruit and also Luffy didn't know Haki that early on.

@@9hundun516 Luffy's strength in the beginning relied alot on his DF. The rubber ability allowed him to reach far with his limbs and attack from a distance and also to not feel blunt attacks. So it does matter, the sand fruit relies on different things and it's power is mainly in the movement, and ability to suck you dry (giggity). So if you get wet and can't use those advantages, you're likely to lose if you can't get close enough, even if you're physically stronger

I don't know, if we assume Boa's fruit works on any strong emotion towards the user and not just lust, it would work very well for Luffy. Lots of people feel VERY strongly about him. Though the most accurate fruit for Luffy besides the Nika fruit would really be the Pump Pump fruit.
i like to think string luffy would have the same crew but they too would be slightly different with the "connections" he would form like i think part of the fruits personality is the underground king pin more so then manipulating people, for example Zoro is still a swords man but he has 3 different sword types instead of 3 katanas and he alternates his style based on the opponent "claymore style, rapier style", Sanji could be given Sea Stone shoes just like back in the day we all thought rayleigh had sea stone sandals, Usopp uses a gun like his father and two quick draw pistols, Nami could have her original design battle Axe and cyborg arm, chopper would be encouraged to study his rumble balls more and as for robin she would probably be the same but also use some of her past underground world knowledge to give them new connections, the Franky family would still be a secondary crime unit and probably the original grand fleet where Brook would probably be used more as a battle general and also a scout...basically straw hat pirates with a plan aka the heart pirates wet dream

Wouldn’t Luffy physically be far stronger thanks to not wasting all of those years trying to throw a powerful punch as a rubber man, honestly he would probably learn haki sooner with his options of using his powers being far more limiting, and with all of that free time he gained, he would either work on perfecting his new fruit, making himself physically stronger or pushing himself to new heights, or all of the above.
Luffy would lose to Kaido if he had any other fruit. You forget; Kaido actually killed him. If not for Nika awakening, he’d stay dead.

@ohara I feel like Luffy would lose with any of these fruits because just like what you said with the Sand fruit , Luffy wouldn’t train as much as he did with the rubber fruit because he would feel that his df powers are good enough . And again Haki becomes more powerful in the heat of the battle so post time skip Luffy looses in all scenarios imo.

Boa's fruit would make sense for Luffy if you think of it not as requiring attraction but maybe as a result of being inspired by Luffy or admiring Luffy. He has inspired entire nations on multiple occasions and would be very powerful for him with that interpretation.

I think Shadow Luffy would actually steal Crocodile's shadow. He might not rely on that ability normally because of the type of person he is, but I can see someone like Croc driving Luffy to deciding that he should take Croc's shadow, because this will limit Croc's movement during the daylight.

Hancock's fruit in Luffy's hand would be absolutely devastating though! It works based on strong emotions, rather than love or lust like we used to think.
I can't think of a single person or group that Luffy has fought that he didn't piss off to the point of bursting a blood vessel in their forehead. The fights would be over really quickly. Hancock just finds it easier to seduce people into the effects of her fruit.
In alabasta luffy would have the shadow of the building he could use to launch attacks from all directions. Also nothing prevents luffy from having a shadow get water to cover Crocadile in, or even possibly doing a peter pan grabbing his shadow to prevent him from moving and we dont know if a logia can logia out if their shadow is stuck. I think the shadow fruit is a lot stronger the more creative you are.
Yes, Shadow Luffy could sever the shadow of all his foes. We also remember that when that happens, you sleep for three full days, so I think shadow Luffy would be a really strong fighter

The paw fruit timeline was basically luffy taking a bit of a head start for the adventure.
Though I wonder if Kaido would have hate towards Luffy for taking his daughter and just flying away. I think he would eventually catch wind of him and send someone to try to kill him (or go himself) and take Yamato back.

Theory on paw fruit: A possible awakening could be similar to Doffy's ito ito no mi, where the ability can be applied to things around the user, so the paw fruit awakening could, let's say, cause anything the user touches to repel itself which could cause that thing to collapse in on itself like a big bang explosion. Idk whether this would actually be possible, just a theory.

One way Luffy could use the Shadow Fruit : he summons his shadow to attack the enemy, the enemy dodge the shadow and attack Luffy, Luffy swap places with his shadow and uses a blade ( like a knife ) to cut off their shadows and BOOM the enemy is knocked down ! And then he can give them their shadow back so the enemy doesn't die. He can also keep people like Crocodile or Lucci on the ship as prisonners, steal their shadows and gain copy combat skill ! Shadow Luffy could be broken because I think people seem to forget that Moria can knock out anyone if he takes their shadows. And with the burning in the sun thing, Luffy would basically have a one hit kill on anyone !

I’m not entirely sure how well haki would combine with the paw fruit but if it doesn’t combine well Luffy could use the fruit to launch himself at his enemies at top speeds and hit them with armament haki.
Luffy with the shadow fruit would loose fights but the people of the kingdom would probably offer their shadows to him so he can fight for their freedom on their behalf. He would then return the shadows after the battle. Luffy is not so pure that he wouldn’t use that power.

Luffy could be the most powerful armament haki user with paw, technically speaking, luffy could use armament on his feet and use his hands to propell himself with his paw fruit at insane speeds to effectively deal deadly blows at a pace where blocking would just rip your arms off

For Luffy having a Croc's df power. I think we shouldn't think that Luffy will fight with the same technique as Croc since Luffy's fighting nature is his fist. I can imagine if Luffy use his sand power to create a giant hand like gear 3. Because as we know the logia power user can shape their element into what they imagine like Mr 3 wax sword, Ace fire fist, Akainu lava hound and many more. For the Luffy's dead end you talking about when he is fighting Big Mom and Kaido, he can manage to win if he can get a new power up which he can become a giant sand man and coated part of his body with haki.
crocodile can coat his sand in haki so it is entirely plausible, additionally he got that op ass touch of death with the dehydration hands, one punch and they are dead unless kaido pre summons rain clouds

Imagine Luffy taking the shadow of Doflamingo and then just handing him over to be kept in jail. The guy can’t try to escape or risk fearing death by the sunlight. At minimum Luffy could put them in some shady place and then give their shadow back to them later.
His fight against crocodile is based on the fact the shadow won’t be able to hit a logia. Not to mention his shadow could just take all the hits for him while luffy thinks of a plan, such as cutting Crocodile’s shadow to put him to sleep for a couple of days. You giving up here was kind of weak sauce. Not to mention if he fought Enel, all he would have to do is survive long enough to take his shadow. And considering Luffy would be able to use his shadow as a shield or borrow the shadows of different animals he plans on eating, I see no reason why he couldn’t use those to assist him in his fight with the electro slim shady, the false god. Or throwing an animal shadow into other helpers like Zorro or Sanji until they can steal the shadow. So yeah, I think it’s entirely do able.
Honestly I think that fruit could carry him a lot father than you think especially since he would borrow shadows from animals, and people willing to give them up willingly to beat a big bad. Or even just straight up taking it from villains saying he’ll give it back later.
