We have been killing it crabbing this year as well. 20-30 crabs per pot was the norm the first week. We are now averaging 15 keepers per pot. This is a banner year we have not seen in 20+ years of crabbing. Great work Adam!
DHF, I'd like to see a video of how you launch your kayak with 3 crab pots + all of your other gear; poles, cooler, etc. I love your videos, especially the Halis! 🎣 🦀
What an awesome fishing adventure man. That sure is koo fishing and producing fish on a crankbait. Best of the luck the rest of the year bud. FISH ON 🎣👍!
Great video man. Keep up the good work. I wish one day I'll be able to fish with you. My son I would love it. We watch every video you post up. God bless & enjoy your good food.
Nice catches Adam, I also limited out the day before with 5 jumbos. If you are going to pull big pots going forward 🤪😅, you should get a Scotty trap ease trap roller it makes pulling big pots a breeze.
Die Hard Fishing you can get them from ACK website, they are inexpensive. If you subscribe to their monthly 15% off coupon code, they cost less than $30.
Hello my name is Will some time ago my son and I demoed the hobie kayak, liked them, I was wondering if you were out in deep water and capsized could you be able to get back on your boat. I like the idea of kayak fishing but I'm 6.7 300 lbs I think I could run in time problems looking into a panga. Thanks Will.
When you’re out on the water what app are you using to monitor the current, the weather and everything else, I’m thinking about heading out there this weekend and I wanna be safe and able to read the conditions. Keep up the great video’s, love the amount of 🦀 there are until commercial 🦀 starts. Be safe out there.
I usually check the NOAA forecast to get an idea of the swell. If you are new and want to do a little research, the NCKA website has a lot of great info. That's where I did most of my reading when I started!
So here I am locked up during the China Syndrome watching you pull up the big pre-commercial crabbing season critters, they are fantastic. I got to the pier a couple times before the fleet got to go out and loved it. My hope is to get to the pier a time or two before the season closes on us again. Great video Adam. Thanks, it makes my captivity easier to take!!!
Couple of questions about when you catch fish/crab. I did not see any water in the ice chest. Do you put sea water or ice in the chest to keep the fish/crab alive until you are ready to deal with them? Also, recently I have heard of people "bleeding" fish. I have never done this. Do you bleed your fish right after sacrificing them?
For any fish I am keeping to eat, I always bleed as soon as I catch them. It makes a huge difference. For crab, fresh salt water is best but if you keep them on ice they will last a day or so. You just need to keep them alive until you get home to drop them in the boiling water.
DHF... ready to bite the bullet... the 15’ Ocean Kayak I have was a good starter yak... time to move up... do you recommend the 2019 Hobie Outback Pro Angler? How long? For Monterey/Pacific Grove... thanks!
I like the outback because it is a little lighter and more portable. I don't have a big enough car to carry the pro angler. Pro angler is definitely a beast to transport but is more stable on the water and has more deck space, all depends what your preferences are. Both are nice yaks!!! Can't go wrong either way!
I wat h Moo Moo outdoors. I also watch Nattie Up North. MDLR, and RX Angler. RX Angler and MDLR inshore fishing along the TX coast. Nattie fishes freshwater MN area. Robert Fields channel has some kayak fishing off of Panama, must watch for a kayak angler. Great videos. I have been watching your older stuff as your new ones come out.
Nice job bro you should weight your pots with some rebar so they don’t move around on the bottom they will fish better later in the season when there are less crab around! When the traps move you miss crabs that are just about to get into the trap. Just my 2 cents
Remember Adam.... Eating to much crab can turn your hands into claws! You wouldn't be able to reel anymore if that happens! So, as a good friend would do, I will help you eat those crab! 😉 Great video bro!
Just curious, could you have given the "extra" crab to someone else who was not crabbing? Or would that have been illegal? Did those other guys with you also limit out?
Koji 888 I have 2 danielson deluxe foldable crab traps and in each cage the 2 side panels folds inwards so you can collapse them, the other 2 panels are fixed. I also tied bungees to each trap in case they happen to fall off on supper choppy days. You might find videos in YT on collapseable crab traps.
How about a video on kayak rigging, especially with crab traps? Also, are those Danielson traps? If, after the Covfefe-19 hooray, you come up to Anchor Bay, above Gualala, look me up. Duckguy on NCKA.
There are something like 147 species of rockfish (Sebastodes) on theCalifornia Coast. Many are not gamefish, and some are marginally so (think gopher fish).
I haven’t taken a crab all season under 7 inches largest of the year was 9! If the commercial boys were allowed to be out since the 15th like the original planned opener there wouldn’t even be keepers around 500 pots x 30 boats being fished 24/7
put your salmon rod away and check out shimano trevala S jigging rods casting and spinning . awesome kayak rods black fridays coming up! i have the tvss 6"3' med spinning . with stradic 5000 fl xg thinking about a trevala s casting too.
NO! Safety first! Get yourself a pair of pliers. Getting a treble or two stuck in the meat of your paw will end your day real fast, and could keep you ashore for a week or two!
Heck yeah brother been a while since I commented on your video but I have some albacore tuna and some swordfish from Hawaii that I'm planning on using for crab bait appreciate the video my friend
Rockfish you said that right there not too picky a little trick that I do I'd like to use Diamond Jigs and put a long Bass worm on the end like we troll for stripers in the delta sometimes it makes the difference
So I watched this video first. Then I watched your video where you were hit by the boat. I'm guessing that was the catalyst for putting the flag on the back of your kayak!
This is what I hate about fishing some days u can take soo many crab pots and u don't catch anything...and 1 day u can catch ur limit in only one pot and u ar like what I gonna do know 🤣🤣🤣
I dig the channel dude! Just subbed. I'm in LA. Would love to fish with you sometime for an episode of my rock n roll fishing show called Whatever Bites on my channel. Let me know!
The government thinks that they own everything in the oceans too , not just the resources in other countries . I noticed there wasn't a size limit on the little girls trump and epsteen passed back and forth . Try a saltwater Rattletrap in 3/4 oz. If you keep the nose down they snag much less ( or cut one hook off the front treble) . If you snag pull it back.. away from the way you were cranking . Yo-yo it , long pulls . Great video ! LUCK !

I wish I had the chance to show my grandpa fishing channels like yours, he would’ve loved them! 😢 I def need to go fishing before it’s too late in NM.
Unbelievable haul of crabs. Watching your video make me so happy. Congratulations on your successful crabbing trip. Always be safe 🎣 and crabbing.

Jumbos!!!! Wow! What a great haul!!
Trying to keep up with you guys! haha
That is awesome. I wish I could have one of them days
I used a Googan bait, crackin craw for rock fish back in July and it worked great.
Nice! Maybe I'll try that one next!
I used the green pumpkin color. There’s a white one I want to try as well.
Keep the videos coming. Watching from Chicago, so your helping me through my fishing withdrawals lol
Doing my best to help with lack of fishing withdrawals, one viewer at a time
Awesome crabbing!
Excellent channel! Two questions- whats the best way to grab the crabs and would it be useful to put 5' or 10' markers on the pot lines? Thanks!
I was wondering what you were trolling with. You got enough crab for 4 people. Next time I wouldn't need to bring my pots 😂😂
Insane crabbing!!!! Yeah just trying a little something new for those feisty rockfish. Hope to see you on the water again soon!
I will also just tag along and do no hard work.
Congrats. What a great day!

Hey Adam! You should make a video on how to use crab nets off the pier and how to bait it up. That’s would be a good video forsure! 👍🏾

You could if they have a crabing
