Woodcote is on the highest point in the chilterns! Plus in cleeve(by goring) u shud walk up Icknield Road(my old home is on Icknield Road!) It goes right up to the main road(Reading Road I think?) Then u can either go left to Wallingford or go right and turn right at the woodcote turning and ur in the village called Woodcote whare i reside!
I always thought the highest point in the Chilterns was In Wendover Woods but I'm happy to be corrected if I'm wrong on that one. Sounds nice. I'll have to visit the area one day. I hope to explore more Chiltern Villages in the Chilterns in 2023.
Apologies for multiple comments! While u were in Goring did u check out The Miller of Mansfield pub/hotel at all? I use to work there in the late 90s! Lovely place probly a bit pricy nowadays but its stil got the charm and the bar is quite big with a beautiful fireplace inbertween the saloon and main bar area!
Not a problem, thank you for taking an interesting. I've not been to the Miller of Mansfield but I'll have a look next time I'm in the area. It certainly sounds nice.
Not far from my "neck" o the woods! "Woodcote"! Use to reside in cleeve which is by goring! Also Pete Dr Frietas who played the drums in the 80s group Echo and the Bunnymen is buried in the cemetery just outside of Goring!
Thank you for joining me! I think I once visited some friends of my Mother's in Woodcote as a child. Thank you for the info on Pete Dr Frietas. I'll look out for his grave next time I'm in the area.
Thank you. I visited the other day and all the flowers have now gone. A friend of mine said he walked past the other day and had no idea George Michael once lived there.
Yes, We really enjoyed it. That place is charming and its view, and I like churches, I don't know why I like churches but they attract a lot of feeling. Regards.
chilterns go way past luton to hitchin. I have spent nearly 50 years walking them from goring area to hitchen area. 18 of those years practically every week.
Thank you I really enjoyed your video ..My daughter and her husband and children live in Goring .. I miss them so much I’m from Australia .. I have visited them and that is George Michaels house I was their visiting when he passed away so sad.. Once again thank you I loved your video.

Just found the location of the mazes and so gutted I walked in that field after the first lockdown and was literally only 100 yards away but at that time the grass was very high but I am definitely going to visit those mazes
@@AshBehindtheCamera Thank you for watching and glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for the info on the mazes. Its well worth a visit but its a very steep hill up from Streatley. Well worth the climb though for the views you get!

Вы красивый молодой человек. Спасибо за экскурсию. Привет из Москвы. Обожаю Джорджа Майкла. Грустного человека с одинокой душой.
Thank you very much for watching! Glad to hear you also like George Michael.

Thank you very much! :)
I've lived in Goring my whole life, the island is in Oxfordshire and the house that you said was George Michael's was his house.
Thank you for clarifying that! :)

It would be most helpful if you would please provide the date the church was built and dates of any reconstruction. How old are these churches?
To be honest I don't know. I'm more of an explore rather than a historian.
