Some jerk driving a tractor trailer tried to drive around some crossing gates in Savannah,GA and the train I was on hit it. Made me 8 hours late. This video needs to be seen by more people.
@TurgeonFan77132 That's an M1. You can see the conductor/engineer window that slides vertically and also, you can hear the S44 being blown. The S44 was used on all(or most) M1s.
@TurgeonFan77132 Yes, the first train is an M7 which mainly uses the Leslie RS2M. The second train is an M1 because of two things; It has a Leslie S44 Airhorn which all M1s used, and it had the conductor/engineer window that slid vertically. The M3 has the conductor/engineer window that slides horizontally.
A train takes 1.5 miles to come to a complete stop with the emergency brakes on, so the train driver would not be able to avoid hitting the third pedestrian.
M1 units used A Leslie S44 Horn. While the M-3 and M-7 Use the Leslie RS2M. The only reason the M-3 and M-7 sound different is because they have different valves.
That's an Invalid statement. That's mainly for freight trains. Trains here on long island Can go from 80 whish is MAX here down to zero in about 1200 feet. I have seen it. And i have driven them.

holy shit that scared me
I've been in the cab of an M-7, and honked it's horn, and it was loud from the inside! He should have heard it!! I've also been to that crossing!

Jesus. Was not expecting that... I guess that was from a security camera or something.
They edited that second train into this video. That doesn't change the fact that the dangers of carelessly crossing the tracks isn't real.
It's better to lose a few minutes in your life than to lose your life in a few minutes.
Safety is the primary rule for railroading.
@TurgeonFan77132
it was an M1 train w/ leslie s44 horn

True, especially with an aged train as the M1.
It is an M1.
I got a heart attack from this.
yes, that is correct, only the second horn may be the M1, the M3 and M1 were both still in use at the time the video was made.
Plot twist: the man was already in front when the train was here 😂
This is Oceanside Station.
How did you know that?
Look in Google Maps and compare them
MTA operation lifesaver
Don't make this dash your last
What were the models of the horns on the M-1 and M-3 respectively?
HOWLY MACROL!!!! That train came flying right INTO THAT MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It may, but its hard to determine those from the side.
I guess thats why you should always stop, look, and listen. :S
@TurgeonFan77132 thats a leslie RSM2 i think
Great example of Trains, Fast, can't stop quickly.
Anyone know where the crossing they filmed this commercial at is located at?
DID THAT GUT GET HIT BY A 2ND TRAIN AT 0:23 ?
If the gates are down, don't go around!

What station is that at
LMFAO THAT COMMENT HAS ME IN TEARS!
@TurgeonFan77132 the first was a m7 the other one was a m-1
(reply to halofreak200715645)
is that video on youtube?
And that is why I am not ready to ride an LIRR train.
I♡LIRR M7
Anyone know what types of horns are heard on those? I think the first train is the M-7 and the other looked like the M-3 (correct me if I'm wrong).
TurgeonFan77132 it’s an M1
For example a 60 car freight train traveling at 55 mph would take at least a mile to stop.

That's GOT TO HURT!!!! Why are people so stupid sometimes?
how do you get a job on the lirr? who do you have to know ?how many fake job fairs at nassau collisium can you do?
Thats Little Neck Station
It’s Oceanside Station on the Long Beach Branch to be exact
Well I didn't know that the M7 was 20 years old I like the M9 better❤
(reply to extremegore)
no shit sherlock!
Just don't hang out on the right of way or go around the gate and you'll be fine.
"Use common sense." A fair statement, but unfortunately common sense isn't so common anymore.
imagine today…
Oh boy it’s changed for one tik Tok
Then now they should put a commercial about the gap between the train and the platform
Really
I guess he caught the train.

i think u mean derail?
That second guy got hit, didn't he? Oh, I'm so SCARED OF TRAINS!
menslady125 lol no.
@traintownofcowee he was joking..
@TurgeonFan77132 RS2M*
Ok. Thank Goodness.
Well, it could have just been a small change for the purpouses of this commercial.
M3 on that video is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooioooooooooooooooooo fast 200 mph
It’s an M1 not an M3, How I know look at the conductor’s window
M1s were scrapped in 2000. Where the LIRR M7 WAS A TEST TRAIN.
M1’s were retired in 2007

WASTED
Dude, you must be stupid. You CANT swerve on tracks. It is clearly the person's fault.
No. It was staged.
