So here we have a mission for the Dr.1 that haunted me for a very long time. Even after spending countless hours flying in ROF I still struggle with getting a clean strafing run in on this mission. Whenever I line up for an ideal approach I get completely waxed by the machine gun nests and no matter how I try I cannot seem to just kill the little bastards. This must be one of the more broken missions in the game because your wing mates just hover overhead and force you to do all the work. Even a simple request to have them take a dive at the machine gunners on the ground goes unanswered. This must be how the Red Barron got so many kills. His squadron was uninterested in all things flight and combat related just like mine was in "Nasty Rush".... The action begins to get rolling at 3:20 with a quick burning of an observation baloon (Again with no help from my wing men) . For those who require bloodshed to keep their attention feel free to skip ahead. Ground strafing attack starts at 5:15 and the enemy planes finally take off to start defending themselves at around 7:30. Just unload rounds conservatively while being mindful of the mission time constraints. After a few minutes of combat with the Nieuports you will be greeted by a group of any french spad pilots who unlike you, have full ammo. Unless you're a crack shot or a crack head you'll want to have the Nieuports disposed of and be on your way back home BEFORE Pierre and Jean Luc' show up to rub their french all over everything and spoil the fun. Leave your wingmen behind to absorb the attack from the trailing spads should it take you that long to finish the Nieuport kills. Upon return to your home Aerodrome you will cross flight paths with 2 Breguet 14.B2s and their Camel jock of an escort. Unless you performed exceptionally well during the mission or are equipped with unlimited ammo (Which i would only recommend if you are very new to the game and only until you get a feel for when to shoot) I would avoid the temptation of completing the secondary task of attempting to drag these Breguet monsters down to the earths surface. They can absorb more ammo than most nations can produce in a year, so unless you are confident enough to place rounds on a critical area with high accuracy you're likely to get blown out of the air long before you cripple either of the notoriously durable flying tanks. Think it over before you risk getting shot down right near your Aerodrome as it will mean you have to go and deal with the french and their insanely accurate ground based machine gun attacks all over again.
