Easier said than done. :) But PES is more about skill, and not the "magic button". I am still very bad at defending. If I miss a beat, it becomes lethal pretty quickly.
I get done on the counter far too often. I play possession and if I lose the ball in the final third they just play a 50 yard through ball and all of a sudden I've got Bale and Ronaldo in behind the full backs. I'm going to try a 5-4-1 formation with two CDM that are instructed to stay back. No more counter attacks, not on my watch! 😏

Legend cheats dude ;) they have 99 stats all over the show, in PES 2018 - you had full control and a chance to stop stuff happening. Now... due to the restricted movement / added realism - it's made a lot harder!
I heard or read somewhere cant remember where about a through ball tactic but uses alot of stamina for the team mate that is runnning towrd the through ball u got a video on this perhaps

Using all out defending blunts your attack. Becomes ineffective. Just get a strong and tall DMF like kondogbia and a strong CB like boateng, then use the 4-1-4-1 formation. This pushes your opponent back and makes it easy to defend against counters.
Spoony I have a question for you about my club mate I’m struggling to get a manager that’s 433 with a cam they are all cdm or cm I’ve even got ones with high adaptability but just can’t seem to do it any tips mate

did you try manually marking one or two defenders on Lukaku (in game plan i believe, at the bottom of the list after "advanced instructions" is "individual marking" you can choose who marks who)
@@IAMSOUND99 Well, I just really focused on getting one player far ahead of Lukaku (any others forward player actually) and I ll say that 90% of the time I can handle any long passes. Lukaku is just a beast you either need to stop balls coming to him or really anticipate the long passes.
yeah some players are overpowered. when i see which big team my opponent uses, i automatically put 2 defenders marking their star player and with super cancel i try to anticipate passes towards him with a midfielder like you do, gets the job done but at a huge stamina cost.

Haha because I'm nothing to do with PES really - I make PES videos, BUT I have NO allegiance to FIFA or PES... I play whichever is best. PES 14 and 15 were AWFUL, so if that happens in the future... I'll switch to FIFA!
SS (if central) floats across the penalty box, generally behind the CF... like Cantona, Tevez, Messi etc. If an SS is out wide, then they'll act like a winger but sometimes drift inwards. A CF, depending on player card - Target man, Goal Poacher, Fox in the box, all behave differently. So... a goal poacher will play on last man in defence. Hope this helps! :)
good game but the ai is broke playing the ai is boring same moves all the time ai using the low ball when crossing from the wing ai running through on goal stop the turn away pass to left or right so they can use low pass from the wings you know what the ai will do to me it spoils the game at the moment pes 18 ai plays the better game

Try deep defensive line if this is a concern. Also, set the LB/RB to CB positions...so you have 4 defenders. Then apply man marking. Hope this helps

I still got my friend throwing L1 + 🔼 all day long on Lukaku and my defense still can't do a thing about it... very frustrating..
