This song bring about a lot of painful memories. My now husband and I were dating at the time and my family was against it. I called him and told him I didn't think it was going to work between us. It was too hard and I hated the pain my family was putting him through. We spent hours on the phone, with him begging me not to give up on us. 15 years later, we are married and I am so glad I didn't give up.

I bought this CD in 2008 ( when I practically discovered India ) by co- incidence) when I bought Stevie Wonders CD - A time to Love with India featuring on the song. I was blown away by her voice. I previously heard " Can I walk with you " play on radio but not paying much attention. I immediately went to record store to discover she had already released 2 CD's - Acoustic Soul and Voyage to India which I bought without listening to it first. Thereafter I bought Testimony Vol 1 -Love Relationships ( which is my favourite of the 5 CD's I got of her ) if I have to pick 3 of her many great songs it would - India's Song , Ready for Love and , This too shall pass. this woman was cheated out of her talent by her label... or it seems so. India belongs with the list of musical legends for her depth of soulful expression. Her ability to relay her emotional energy on a track and bring tangibility to something we are otherwise impossible to bear credential to is not fully appreciated.
Her vocals were not always solid on her live performances during her time. She didn't have a strong voice. It killed her even with her quality albums.
Just Suzie you got to be kidding me! India has always sounded great live. However, Alicia Keys didn’t have a strong voice at all but since she was light skin she was more successful. Songs in a minor was overrated af.
