M1 processors are good, rhino will run best when we get full native support for M1 and that is planned for v8. Future proof yourself now, and go m1 on your next machine
to be clearer tho..i personally recommend buying the mac book pro over the mac air for 3d modeling. The air is not designed to be a heavy use modeling machine, it's more of a light duty internet and 2d content machine.
hi, is there a way to hide the original object shape while you dragging control points around to modify it? for example at 28:09 when you modify the cylinder shape the previous shape stay visible while you dragging its control points, i would like to hide original shape and concentrate only on the "transformed one" (while editing).
The "isolate" command Hide all but the current selection, but if i edit the isolated object control points i still can see (while dragging) the overlay of its original shape (before the editing). This Is somehow distracting since i would like to concentrate only on the deformed shape without having the previous shape overlaying on the screen. Is It possibile?
@@Rhinoceros3d Ok - I see the problem. My gumball wasn't centering up on the selected points because I selected them with CLICK-DRAG RECTANGLE OVER POINT GROUP RT to LEFT instead of CLICK-DRAG RECTANGLE OVER POINT GROUP LEFT to RT. Now I can see the Scale icon(s). Thank you! Keep those tutorials coming! Much appreciated-
@@kaibe1793 that helmet would start as a sphere, then you would simply add pockets and bulges as needed. Look up the “getting started with rhino 6 - knobs and switches” video, it’ll show you how to do this type of surfacing.
If you don't mind me asking, what model of Apple computer are you using?
I'm on the latest 16" MBP with the m1 max. Bob just upgraded my old 2015 mbp with an nvidia card (that still runs well actually) Thanks Bob!
@@Rhinoceros3d will it work on my 2015 MBP?
@@Rhinoceros3d are you running via Parallels?
no Parallels is well documented as not working well with Rhino (or any open GL based program for that matter) and is not supported by us.
Do you know if the problem with click on scale icon to enter zero (at 16:11 ) has been reported? I had similar issue using Mac Rhino 7 (7.14)
I reported it to Rhino
Have you had a chance to try the Mac Air base model? I wonder how rhinoceros works with silicon processor?

The isolate command will do this.

@@simonebontempi1973 ah, sorry no. the move preview is there so you can see what has changed as you edit.
@@Rhinoceros3d ok, thx a lot.
@16:17 - "Shift-Click on a "scale icon". I have no idea what you're talking about (my fault, not yours!). What is a "scale icon"?

Can you pls make a helmet tutorial. That would be so awesome! :)
what kind of helmet?

@@Rhinoceros3d Oh nice thanks for the advise! So I should build up the helmet with nurbs and not with SubD?
@@kaibe1793 I’d try both and see which you personally prefer
