Gr8 Vid!! I am curious to see a video of this OMTECH 100W in action engraving a brass coin with Lightburn. The engraved brass is so different than the stainless. I wonder what setting you chose as it seems that brass could easily be burned/charred with too high of power rather than steel. What were your settings for the Brass Coin Engraving? Did you use a Depth or Height Map? Just curious if a Greyscale image could product that type of engraving. Once again, thank you for taking the type to share with your audience. I look forward to learning more about this type of Fiber Laser Machine.
Lol. Now I wish I had spent more and got the 100w mopa. I just received the 60w mopa from OMTech yesterday. I got a refurbished one for 2k off to try and save some money. I am new to this so I figured this would be a good start. I am mainly interested in color engraving on stainless steel. so not so worried about the 3d engraving. Thanks so much for your insights.
Actually what is happening is the color is reflecting the laser's wavelength. Black will absorb all colors and thus reacts the most favorably. Generally Red is the worst color as most of the fiber lasers are in the infrared spectrum.
I have a question on the fiber laser will the 80w have the same capability to cut mild steel or sterling silver in 3-D like you we’re showing in this video? I want to pull the trigger on the 80w OMTech has it at a lower price right now? Never owned a laser but want to use it to do some engraving in buckles plus put my hand engraving with it. Thanks for taking your time to show this equipment and there is a dealer close to where I live in Texas
I got in touch with a guy in Dallas who represents but is not part of OMTech to do some in person demo stuff. Reviews say is pretty knowledgeable so I signed up for next Saturday the 16th. Are you dedicated to the OMTech product? I’m retired but know if I pull all this money out of my back pocket I want a dependable product. Thanks for your opinion
I watched your install of the light burn camera and I’ve seen other companies have it stock on there equipment. Do you think with the 100w jpt mopa set up it would be difficult to position a camera or even install one on this style? I don’t have room in my shop for the giant cabinet like yours
FiiZ!!! I take it you're local to the SLC area? If so, howdy neighbor :) Just got a Monport GP20 as a way of getting my feet wet. Loving it so far, now the real question is how much wattage I go up to when I eventually upgrade. 100 W is really tempting...
Have you carried out a distortion test? Y just curious to see if it’s as bad as some make it seem when the lasers hit the very edge of their field som claim to get not so great results but from what I’ve seen it’s barely noticeable.

I’ve been having issues getting my tumbler settings. Excited for that video to come out

@@stevegarland7075 I mainly use omtech lasers but have some experience with others.

@@stevegarland7075 Just curious if you had ever set up a camera on the JPT Mopa FIber Laser? I am looking to set one up as well.
Great video. Where did you get the bottle openers at...I don't think I have come cross that design. Thanks.
Do the colors wash out when cleaning tools washing/cleaning knives?

I always do all the testing an dial things in.
@@BeardedBuildsCo awesome!
I'd love to see the file that you have for the colors. We have the same laser, and while I've purchased a test file on Etsy, it was for a 50w laser.
Do those colors 4:15 corrode with time or anything like that? I've seen a video where a guy shows it happens thats why I ask
Do you recommend OMTech?
Yes, currently all of my main lasers are OMTech.
I have a 60W mopa and have no idea how to make money with it.
Would you sell it
You can't to many own them now!
Hi this 100w can also cut a rubber? Or like silicon rubber. I need an answer please. Tnx
