Did this to my gs400. It’s ok… mileage drop, higher rpm and hunting overdrive in the city. Perception of faster acceleration but not really.
Hey man have a question, so the gs300 diff is plug and play on the gs400? like I can just slap it right on? or what needs to be changed or? please lmk
@@jonathansagastizado3649 you need to change the front yoke. It is not the same/compatible. Everything else is. It’s not worth it IMO. I would do an is300 5 speed rear end swap or the coveted Supra 3.73 swap(same as is300).

@@jonathansagastizado3649 well I hope that’s all you doing with a welded diff cause that’s not preferred by many for daily driving. The car will be a tenth or two slower. Jeff Sai and others explained why back in 05-08 in club Lexus forums. Also gas mileage will drop slightly and rpms will be higher on the highway. Your going from 3.26 to 3.92 gearing.

My 300 ran high rpm down the highway. I always wanted a better fuel mileage outta it. She was rolled last week, RIP to my 300.

They didn’t want to change too much. That would have cost Toyota more money. They just made the cars with V8s safer to drive with a limited rear end. I have that problem with my 460
Great swap... but without an lsd i keep to the original.. so i can keep cruising 250km/h on lng instead of normal petrol here... base petrol e95 here is like 2.5 dollar a 1/4 gallon instead of 1 dollar LNG in the Netherlands. But still a great swap and video..

No you don’t have to, it’ll be hard to make it drop in between the 2 pipes but it’s doable, it’s real easy to drop the pipes tho anyhow, I pulled my whole exhaust when I did mine

Are you gonna do the "loose change" accumulator mod to the trans?
I was considering it but the plan is to swap in a manual transmission anyway so im probably not going to bother.
What is that
@@LecheLokz you can use coins or washers to shim the accumulator buckets. It makes the trans shift quicker and stronger. There's also a knob to turn up the line pressure from the factory. Alot of people do it with great results.

No dont think any lexus 200mm diffs were LSD during this time period of cars unfortunately.

@ gearhead291 the ls series has different mounting pattern to their diffs. I’m pretty sure it’s not a direct swap.
