- Back Alley Bbq located 2591 Haddonfield Rd., Pennsauken, NJ is a premiere bbq place in the South Jersey area. They specialize in all types of traditional bbq dishes such as Brisket, bbq ribs, bbq chicken, fried whiting and more! We ordered the combo platter which is 2 selections of meat and 2 sides and a single platter. I got the brisket sandwich and fried whiting and the wife got the bbq chicken. Our sides were the mac n cheese, yams and greens. We were super impressed with the flavor and also the great customer service. Even though they've only been here for 2 years I can see Back Alley bbq being a south jersey must-visit destination in the summer months. We definitely recommend them.

Just tried their Combo Patter. Incredibly Delicious! 😋🍽🍗🥩 I will now, one of their Best customer’s! I chose the chicken, beef brisket, mac & cheese and yellow rice. Everything was Perfection!

Long time fan, but this ain't it. When cameras are not there, they sling gray brisket & pork w/o a touch of smoke, bbq flavor or even seasoning. Wouldn't be worth it if I lived across the street from them.
Wow. I can't believe what they've done with this building. My aunt lived in there back in the 90's. It was a house. Now its a restaurant? Thats awesome. I'm definitely going this weekend.
Sorry I love to support black owned business but had the brisket and pulled pork and side did not like anything. Will not be going back. And when I talk to some of my friends they said the same.
For real...Get the same exact thing you get...The meat is great and tender but not seasoned at all and no black rings around the beef....Mac and Cheese is awesome tho...

Extremely overrated. You get 2-3 pieces of fish in the combo platter. The canned string beans were dry, the Bruce's Yams were undercooked and the greens were bland. It's a great alternative to commercial eating, and always a plus to recycle our dollars, however this is an extreme exaggeration of the food. ⭐⭐out of 4.
Yup. Had it last Sunday due to this recommendation. It was bad. Plain bad. Tasted like canned food. And seen large canned food cans in trash by the side garage. You’ll check it out before you order.

I tried them like mad months ago and I didn’t like it at, all me and my family had Ribs, Macaroni Cheese, Yams, their BBQ is horrible them ribs was hella tuff and Macaroni was nasty the yams was Ok but not the best, but the sad part about is that my niece had got the chicken fingers and fries and that shit was the best thing smh we haven’t been back sense🤦🏾♀️
Maybe they had a off day or just maybe Different Strokes for different folks I mean when one person doesn't like another person love so I don't know what to say about that

Went today they food was trash. The greens had no seasoning. The brisket was fatty the chicken was dry. The mac and cheese was blue box mac and cheese that they put in the smoker. Last but not least the fish smelled like a covid cooch

I put smoked Gouda in my Mac n cheese and whatever other cheese I have. Again, next time in Lehigh Valley, try Danielle’s Cafeteria in Bethlehem! Beautiful couple, good looking food. 💕👍🏻🙏🏻

It's all about metabolism. I lose weight watching these videos if I'm not eating lol. I can eat whatever I want and never gain unhealthy weight.

JL, my man 😢 Hubby and I follow you around. When you recommend something, we go get it. But this was a huge miss. The sides were a huge miss today. We parked on the side of the building near trash. We saw huge cans of green beans, potatoes, and Collard Greens and who knows what else. Collards and potato salad had no flavor and Ribs were parboiled with no flavor. What a disappointment after driving 50 mins for this today.
Me to chicken leg was so dry.. Collards were exactly like hers tasteless and watery.. Rib not good and weird potato salad
For my man to be bragging about how good his bbq is and after a lifelong of experience behind him, I was definitely displeased. Brisket was extra fatty with no flavor, sides was nothing to brag about. Initially, I was going to get the $25 platter. I was starving and this was the first meal of the day for me. I was so looking forward to this meal. So glad I didn't waste my money. Bought Bought two $15 platters, Brisket and fried whiting, potato salad, mac & cheese, collard greens and yams. Entire meal was very bland. When i pulled up, no aromas in the air and inside the restaurant, no aromas either. Waited over an hour for this and was so dissatisfied.
Hi JL you are usually on point but this is a huge miss at the BACK Alley BBQ in Pennsauken! The sides were absolutely horrible!! The fish was not good as well. Me and my Hubby just thought we went on a bad day. Foolish of us to as we went back the second time! Again HORRIBLE! This is not the place to get good BBQ, sides or fried fish. I'm just being honest!🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️ Please don't waste your money! Huge disappointment!!

It’s good food but just not how it is on ur channel...... for example.... paprika in philly wasn’t nothing like ur video it’s was just regular food nothing to write home about and I got the same meals got even the the rice! Yes..yes.. For me it was the street lounge. I got there to make a large order. The main item I was going for was the chicken balls. Well their 1 food processor was broken. So it meant they couldn't make it.. I told the guy I drove a good distance. Some other things I asked for they didn't have. The owner (I believe) did make me 3 small ones by hand. So me n my sister just got two different platters a piece. We waited over hour for that. They food looked nothing like yours..I was so over it. I said I would go back in the evening to see if it's a difference. I haven't yet..

Visited this weekend...I ate the fish, a rib, yellow rice, green beans, and collards. The sides were bland but I was hungry. The ribs were okay but had that crunch JL kept talking about with the chicken. The fish and the bbq sauce were banging! Staff was nice and friendly. I’d probably go back the next time I visit the area, I’ll just make or bring my own sides. Someone in the comments said they were canned veggies, ummm that explains the blandness.

Worst BBQ I’ve ever spent 💵 on. No smoke ring. No bark. No flavor. Sides had to be Bruce can yams and Mac n cheese, well definitely not made from scratch. I’m not a review writer at all. This one, I could not let go though. Video is very misleading‼️

Man this place is a miss....Had them a few times and everything is bland...Meat is tender but no seasoning or flavor....I honestly think there mac and cheese is Kraft mac in a box....Yall want a place to die for that will make u keep going back.....Just a little down the same street next to Mommas Balls is a place that just opened....EXPRESS SHISH KABAB.....Man everything is banging ...U got to try there Steak Fries over chedder!Please pet me know if anybody tries it out becuase I honeslty believe they are one of the best original cuisines in South Jersey

Took my whole family to this place we left very disappointed the only thing that was good was the whiting fish. That craft Mac and cheese was dry with some seasoning. I also got brisket mostly all fat. I love this channel and JL I have been to most spots he recommends but this spot was not great.
