    Age means nothing. Heart means everything. :)
    I'm 39; I've seen this movie a million times and it still brings me the same 2 hours worth of lauging and crying non-stop even though I know it by heart.
    Very few movies (both past-and-present, alike) can do that. Just a small handful of them can, in my case.

      @LisaKoffler ปีที่แล้ว

      You ask very good questions! WHY they had just 1 small bag is the biggest mystery, but I think Martin was with Chessy and the grandfather was home, but in another room! It's possible that he spoke to Hallie and Nick before Elizabeth and Annie returned!

    • @LisaKoffler
      @LisaKoffler ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you see the original version with Hayley Mills? In BOTH versions, the parents acted stupid and immature to the point of NOT being able to share their own kids, so they compromised by each taking the twin that took after them - think Mommy's girl and Daddy's girl! What angered me MOST was that neither version said whether or not they would EVER tell the girls the truth - especially when they reached adulthood, like their 18th Birthday! It's the MEANEST thing parents can do to twins, and in BOTH versions, the parents were able to solve their problem, and get back together again!

    Secret: The twins remained switched when they went their separate ways, Hallie went back home with her mom and Annie stayed with her dad! Being identical it was totally possible and if they did not get their family back together on their first try, they would try again!

    • @LisaKoffler
      @LisaKoffler ปีที่แล้ว

      That DIDN'T happen! Don't forget that Annie grew up in London, England and she was raised as an English Rose, with an accent to match! Being identical, they had a special bond their parents couldn't understand, because they weren't identical twins themselves! THAT'S how Hallie was able to help Nick get Annie and Elizabeth back after only 30 seconds!

    Natasha Richardson was the most gorgeous actress in this movie. She looks just like my mom when she was younger. Such a tragedy that she had to pass away so suddenly resulting from her ski crash.

      They could have just as easily just had them follow them, though. I understand them thinking it would be dramatic to have them beat them there, but...

      They DID follow them on the now-retired Concorde after just 30 seconds!

    Not only the parents were so selfish to separate two sisters, they were also willing to do that again. I know it’s just a movie, but it breaks my heart to see parents like them.

    • @lauraschoenborn3544
      @lauraschoenborn3544 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s heartbreaking but seriously, they were twins! What were they going to do have one parent take both twins so they never see their other parent again? What were they supposed to do? Both of them had their lives in England and Napa. They also had a picture of the other parent so it’s not like they were never planning on telling them.

    • @PabloRuizMega
      @PabloRuizMega ปีที่แล้ว

      let's go for another remake of the parent trap

    • @LisaKoffler
      @LisaKoffler ปีที่แล้ว

      In BOTH versions, the parents weren't just selfish - they were stupid and immature, simply because they couldn't share their twins, so they compromised by each taking the twin that took after them - Mommy's girl and Daddy's girl! Neither version said whether or not they would EVER tell the girls the truth - especially when they reached adulthood, like their 18th Birthday! It's true that Nick and Elizabeth had their own lives, but it's also possible that Nick was able to help Elizabeth relocate her career to America after they got back together! IF another remake of "The Parent Trap" comes along, I just wish that it would answer the question of whether or not the parents would EVER tell the girls the truth!

    Why is it that there are so many more great movies from the 80s & 90s than there are today? Especially when it comes to comedy...I mean, there are definitely some funny movies, but not like "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles", and "Uncle Buck"!

  • @amrose4214
    @amrose4214 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Sad right before happy back together. They still love each other. But there stubborness or careers unwilling to work it out, now the twins have met how can they keep them apart again.

    • @LisaKoffler
      @LisaKoffler ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Elizabeth told Martin that if Nick didn't drive her nuts that she'd still be married to him, and they came up with the arrangement so they would NEVER have to see each other again! After the girls switched places, and their parents learned the truth, they experienced guilt and shame, and Nick got BOTH his and Hallie's passports 30 seconds after Elizabeth and Annie left, so they were eventually able to solve their problems!
