When the apostle James said, "Faith without works is dead," it's because he was echoing the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ himself. In Matthew 7: 21-23 Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ Romans 2:13 confirms it, "For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but it is the doers of the law who will be declared righteous." And 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 repeats it, "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who submit to or perform homosexual acts, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. I've studied this extensively and read tons of information and books about this, and yes, once someone is truly saved, they are saved eternally. No one loses salvation.
