Good morning!
The meshing of Dark Castle and Dark Matter might seem to lack continuity... Sometimes it can be hard to find tracks that I haven’t done and likewise tracks to combine into a proper medley. I’ve tried to keep my track references more local to the game(s) that the track is based on, and I’ve gotten some very valid criticisms regarding the overuse of random motifs in order to fill empty space in the cover. I was super lucky that both these tracks were present in Robobot and DL2, so it kind of makes sense. For the time being, I consider this track to be one of the best compositions on my channel. Simplistic tracks are essentially a template for improvisation, so it was fun. 5:12 is actually a callback to the old Dark Matter SNES remix I did. You know, I tend to get self referential, and it feels a little bit narcissistic sometimes... But I suppose it makes sense... SINCE MY USER NAME......

Dark Matter is one of the most pervasive characters in the series. Sadly, the final boss of Dreamland 2 is not often on any top 10s, and people don’t refer to the theme(s) often when recounting their favorite memories from the series. (Both themes in KDL2 are very short and somewhat repetitive, though they have groovy bass-lines) More often than not, Dark Matter is overshadowed by characters like Marx, 02, and even Nightmare. The truth is, in his raw form, Dark Matter shows up in some badass boss battles, and I consider the Dreamland 2 incarnation to be one of the most difficult non-arena challenges in the series. (though it may be short-lived) I just found out yesterday that Kirby gets fried by the atmosphere if you wait too long during the fight. What the hell is that.
Basically, Dark Matter deserves some love. He’s everywhere. He's a nice guy. Right? So, this upload doubles as a tribute to the character itself and the longevity of its influence on one of the greatest video game series’ ever made. Don’t fuck with Dark Matter.

Dang this was 6 days ago. I just completed dream land 2 actually today. Dark Matter was a lot more awesome than I expected. Definitely in my top 10 Kirby bosses now and should definitely be in smash as a Kirby villain since most of the other Kirby villains in smash aren't villains anymore.

Oh my... Dark Matter is one of my favorite Kirby villains. His battle was one of the most epic of the series for me. His second phase and the music, even if repetitive, gave me chills.

Dark Matter Swordsman is probably the best designed villain in the Kirby series I wish was the main antagonist of the series. His theme, style and everything about him is what a Kirby villain should be. This remix really shows how much he can be as a main villain in the series ^^

When you complete Dreamland 2 with Dark Matter and all, you unlocked a special option in the main menu, where you can select all the sound effects in the game. Including an incredibly awesome bonus track that's nowhere else in the entire game. Sadly my Gameboy stopped working decades ago, so I can't play the game anymore, but I'd love to hear that bonus track again.
MetaS, this may not be your most popular mix but I have to thank you even just for its impact on me. Robobot and Dreamland 2 were both some of the first Kirby games I ever played and I love them both so much. It means a lot that you have remixed this, especially considering it's one of my favorite tracks. (Random fact: I accidentally composed a little dittie that took a small bit of the melody from Dark Castle)
That being said, is it not strange that nobody mentions Dreamland 2??
It's as if the Fandom has forgotten it exists. I mean, not only was it actually a surprisingly good game, it also introduced, like, THE WHOLE CONCEPT OF DARK MATTER??
Like, when was the last time you heard someone talk about the Rainbow Bridges? Or the female Gooey?
I could talk about Dreamland 2 all day, but suffice to say, more people need to appreciate it and this remix.

Here's my prediction on how the Dark Cloudy Morpho Medley will work. First Light MetaS will remix the intro of Kirby's Dreamland 2, then he'll create two or three stage remixes with a hint of leitmotifs, maybe add a tad bit of the map theme as well, after that he'll redo the Dark Castle Theme, create an epic Duel in the sky theme, and engage with the battle phase of Dark Matter's with conjoined with the pieces of the Morpho Medley. Also ONE VERY IMPORTANT THING THAT I HOPE LIGHT METAS WILL RECOGNIZE WITH THE DARK MATTER THEME IS THAT THE THEME SOUND SIMILAR TO SPAMTON'S THEME!!! I know that with the Magolor Morpho Medley there was a piece of the remix that didn't make it, but I really hope he tries a little experiment with that.

Kirby's Dreamland 2 is the hardest Kirby game I've ever played. Each world has a single Rainbow Drop hidden _somewhere_ (you don't know which level it's in until you find it) and the later ones require you to get far into a level with an ability from an entirely different level with a specific animal buddy (only obtained from mini bosses). Once you get all the Rainbow Drops, you fight Dark Matter. Your weapon does basically no damage, so you need to reflect Dark Matter's projectiles in order to make significant progress. The fight has a time limit, so being cautious will get you killed, and you only have six health, so being reckless will also get you killed.
I'm REALLY glad I'm not the only person who thinks so. Dreamland 2 is _surprisingly_ challenging especially by Kirby standards. You really don't hear people talk about that very much.
Some love towards Dreamland 2 is always appreciated.

Sorry for late comment this uploaded at 12:00 AM in my time zone and I was asleep.
Anyway I love that this is a Dreamland 2 finale remix instead of just Dark castle. Dreamland 2 for being the start of the Dark Matter Trilogy is the most over looked. I still love Dreamland 3 the most, but I've always thought that if a Dark Matter Trilogy remake got made Dreamland 2 would profit from it the most.
On to the remix. It's fantastic what else can I say, I'm glad that if at of the Animal friends theme's got in it would be Coo's since that tracks the most fitting in tone to the songs in this medley. Also I don't know if you used them before, but I think this is the first times I've noticed you using Touhou trumpets. ( These remixes are becoming more weeb first, TNH uses Vocaloid's and now Light's using Touhou, or Maybe they were always weeb and I just didn't notice? )
Last thing. can I just highlight 4:55 til the end? The notes on screen the blending of the past and present, (If 2016 you consider present) leading into a great Miracle Matter mention with the fatal errors and the eyes, I love it! Then all the bosses make an appearance and then Taking down the Halberd motif!! It's fantastic and the final section at 5:46 showing the whole Dark Matter family ending with a drum solo and fading organ and what I assume to be a Astral Birth piano motif at 5:59. It's all fantastic and a great tribute to the most overlooked game in the Dark Matter Trilogy. Acknowledging the future, but still showing you that this was the start and should be respected as such.
Last Last thing. Who the hell would want to skip the intro? Dreamland 2's ending theme slaps!

I know very well that once the Nightmare Morpho Medley is completed you're going to reuse parts of this remix and add a couple of stage themes to the Dark Clouds Morpho Medley.

Besides your Meta Knight remix and couple other final boss remixes, imo your best remix so far. I've never played Dreamland 2 (I just can't get myself into it, even with the Animal Buddies) but this is still awesome regardless.
I love Dark Matter as a villain and especially love its original 1st and 2nd phase themes (which I flipped out when they remixed it in PR), but damn Miracle Matter, 02, and Hyper Zone 1 and 2 are also just as good. I think you should try doing those if you ever do another Dark Matter remix. Like a whole collection of their themes!
Also I had no idea the first theme showed off here was actually the theme for Dark Castle! I thought it was from PR?! Guess you learn stuff everyday. I still love hearing that theme, and you did it justice, if not remixed it better than PR did.

Seeing your comment definitely reminds me that I should be conscious of the fact that you all may have exposure to some of these tracks through other games in the series', not just with the game of its origin. Definitely very helpful to see that.

Well... as much as I love Dark Matter Blade... that's not exactly the case.
He actually only took over the six islands, and even then he didn't necessarily rule them, his main deal was destroying the Rainbow Bridges. And on the weapon part, the Dark Matter in Dream Land 3 also required the Love-Love Stick to be defeated.
I do concur that he needs more respect though.
