Loved it upon first hearing it on This is the Sea back in 1986. I was 16 and immediately bought their previous albums. I'm also 54 now and still my fave along with Savage Earth Heart, Rags and Pagan Place.

Love this song so much!!! Trying to convince a band I’m in to do this as we are already doing Fisherman’s blues- none of them had heard either songs( I’m a Brit living in US now) So grateful for the music from the Waterboys!❤

That's unbelievable. In 2017, I hitchhiked from Glasgow to Portree (on the Isle of Skye). I was listening to the waterboys (because their music seemed to match the scenery). One night, Scotland was expecting their most turbulent rainstorms in recorded history, and I had to sleep rough behind a church (because there was no room at the hostel). I wondered whether I would survive the night. Death seemed likely. But before laying down, I played this song LOUD through my Bluetooth speaker, with the rain beginning to fall, and the wind beginning to blow. "Close your eyes. Breathe slow & we'll begin".

Σημαντικοί γλύπτες της αρχαιότητας έλαβαν τα θέματά τους από τον Πάνα, πως ο Πραξιτέλης και ο Ζεύξις, μερικά των οποίων διασώζονται σε ρωμαϊκά αντίγραφα. Χαρακτηριστικό είναι το σύμπλεγμα του Πανός που εκτίθεται στο Εθνικό Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο της Αθήνας όπου η Αφροδίτη απειλεί τον Πάνα με το σανδάλι της.
Στους νεότερους χρόνους ο Πάν συνέχισε ν΄ αποτελεί έμπνευση καλλιτεχνών όπως οι γλύπτες Φραγκαβίλα, Ροντέν και οι ζωγράφοι Ρομάνο, Ρούμπενς, Πουσέν και Πικάσο.
Sadly part two was on a less than mediocre LP and The Return of Pan didn't come anywhere close to meeting this tune.

One night, Scotland was expecting their most turbulent rainstorms in recorded history, and I had to sleep rough behind a church (because there was no room at the hostel).
I wondered whether I would survive the night. Death seemed likely.
But before laying down, I played this song LOUD through my Bluetooth speaker, with the rain beginning to fall, and the wind beginning to blow.
