Don't worry Danni- there are a lot of people who have your back. Just tell us what to do! I will start by watching this video again. Thank you for sharing your humanity. It's hard to be vulnerable, but we consider you our friend, and I think I speak for everyone when I say it's good to have a clue how to help. Let's do this!

If I can do it, so can you! Be unrelenting. Make piles/bins - garbage, donate, sell, keep. Is all that stuff bringing you joy?
You've got this, Danni. Our love for you isn't contingent on Goodwill videos. We want you to be abundant and manifest your dreams.❤

@lynnbrown4364 Such wise advice. Especially the pile recommendation. I would like to add that the donate and sell piles should be in one designated location in the house. The keep items should be packed right then and there. Work one room at a time and complete the task in its entirety then start on the next one. I have moved a lot in my life and this process always made it less daunting. I am finally settled in my forever home. Danni, I know you can do it!

At 58, newly divorced, I sold my house and a lot of my stuff. Loaded up my 3 cats and drove over the Rockies in October, WA to WI to be near my daughter. Rented for awhile then bought a house. Scary and exciting at the same time. You can do it Danni. I think tackling a collection at a time is a good approach. Just try not to get distracted and you'll find yourself making progress.

Are you still in WI WA? I will be coming out there the first of next year for close to 6 mo. Will be staying with my daughter. Would love to meet up and thrift with some like minded folks there. I especially love the church sales that are in the area. Always find some neat stuff out there. I'm from NC by the way.

I'll give you the same good advice my realtor gave me when I bought my first house. Don't do anything major the first few months. Live with existing flooring, lighting, etc...and read up (or watch videos) on what you want to change. Shop around and get 3 bids on materials, delivery, installation, warranties. Start a sinking fund for home improvement, maintenance and repair because you will need it. Expect everything will take twice as long and cost twice as much as you anticipated. Tackle 1 room at a time and deep breath - you got this!

Hey Danni, I left my home, family and friends moved 1200miles with only the things that would fit in my little car, and my 100# German Sheppard was In the back seat. I got a job, rented a little house in the country. Slept in the floor until I got some furniture, and started my new life somewhere I felt safe. That was 24 years ago. I have a beautiful simple home surrounded by 5 acres of pines and a lot of wildlife. I love where I'm at and wouldn't change a thing. My faith in God has been a life saver and he does answer all prayers, sometimes not what we want but I could not be happier..my story is a lot longer but I can't type that much. God bless you. Have a great evening..love you. It's going to work out. You've got this girl....

Danni: Might you think about finding a professional organizer to help you pack? It would relieve your stress a thousand-fold and is well worth the money. I sometimes find professional organizers through NAPO but just found a wonderful and reasonable organizer here in Albuquerque to help me and my husband unpack my new home and unpack and organize my inventory (I have an eBay store). I have been where you are, having just relocated from Washington state to New Mexico. Yes, it was scary and costly, but we are on the other side and you will, too!! I have learned SO much from you so I hope so can be there for YOU and give you!
    Best, Diane

Hi Dani, I am a landlord and put vinyl plank in our rentals whenever we do a remodel. We even used vinyl plank when we built our vacation rentals. The designer wasn't happy with this initially, now she recommends it to her clients. I look for the kind that has the built in underlayment that clicks together. And, I "put my hands on it" as you say, when looking at it in the stores. What I look for is a sturdy spline (I may have just made up this terminology), the pieces that click together. The splines will easily snap off on the cheaper, poorer quality plank. This makes for a more difficult installation, and often a waste of material. The stores carry some colors in stock, but you may need to order it to get the quantity you need. If you order, they will usually deliver for free (or very little). A box is usually about 20-25 square feet. I have recently installed Style Selections Jute from Lowes ($2.29 per sf) in one property, and Madeline Maple Luxury Vinyl Plank from Floor and Decor ($2.19) in another. You will likely be replacing the baseboards as well. The good vinyl plank can often be installed over tile, so if you don't like the tile, you can float it over the tile.. Moving sucks, but just take it one day at a time!

Danni, I have faith in your determination. You will do this! About 2 years before the pandemic, I decided to do a major remodel on my old house. A LOT of money! I had to put almost all my things in storage, find an apartment to rent for months, so expensive as I live in San Francisco... We moved back into the unfinished house about one week before the pandemic shutdown of all construction work in this area, so lived with the back of the house walled off for almost 2 years, until the city allowed work to continue. One thing you can tell yourself is that at least you don't live in San Francisco, where remodeling is a nightmare!

Hi Dani! My husband picked out cheap vinyl Flooring for our living room. You can’t mop it. You can’t get water on it. I have rolls of paper towels everywhere to wipe up spills. He ever screeches about sweat drops. If water is left on it, it curls up on the edges. Not bad but it’s unsightly. I asked him why in heavens name did he do that? He said it was cheap. I hate it. Get the good stuff. I luv ya. Take care and don’t mind the back biters. You are always in my prayers and the kids too. Much love, Nora

I can very much relate. Bought my home in 2019 as a widow and after several years of renting. Very daunting, but I was proud of myself because I wasn’t sure if I would ever be in a position again to do so. Also, just updated my flooring. I seriously considered LVP, but ended up going with wood because my kitchen/dining room was already hardwood. I, too, was overwhelmed by all the options. Whatever you choose will be beautiful!

I can relate. We lived in our last home for many years and we decided to leave and move 125 miles away. It started in 2019 when my husband when my husband had cataract surgery that not only blinded him but also had a serious reaction to the anesthetic which sent him in serious dementia. He had no idea what was going on. Then COVID-19 came. I fell down the front stairs backwards and landed on my head at the bottom of the stairs. I laid outside for almost 5 hours because I was in and out of consciousness. I have no idea how I got up the stairs. I remember only finding myself in my bedroom. I have no idea on I got on my bed. Divine intervention is the only explanation. A phone, not my phone, was next to the bed and I called 911 and the dispatcher kept talking to me to keep me awake. When the paramedics came they only had to walk through the door because it was not closed. They took me to the hospital where I was diagnosed with a Traumatic Brain Injury and COVID-19. When I got home from the hospital and stay in transitional care, I knew we had to move. My husband finally had his other cataract surgery and could see which made a world of difference. I had been his caregiver since I got home. I was terrified of going down the steps. It took until September for me to be certified to drive. A friend called and told me there was a one-level-house for rent just down the block from where she lived. I packed the car and we went to see and signed a lease. Went home and started packing. I didn't have a lot of stamina yet but I kept packing. My friend came to help. We have now been here in the rental for almost 3 years. Planning to move now into a 55+ apartment building but have been waiting for an opening. While through the years I have been packing some things away, There's still more than I really need and will have a garage sale again to sell the things we won't have room for. So everyday, I have to make decisions on what can I live without. I won't be sorry to leave this place because it's been kind of a nightmare because they don't want to fix anything either and it's made very cheaply. Moving is the most stressful thing,. You have to listen to your mind and body and if you feel stressed, stop and do something else for a while and then go back and work on it. Strangely, I didn't have a problem unpacking any boxes and putting things away. I still have physical problems from my head injury which my doctor told me I surprised him because I should have died because it but I can out with some memory loss and a few physical problem that are better but may not improve over time. I could hear the stress in your voice and I want you to remember that God doesn't give us more than we can handle, but sometimes I don't understand His sense of humor. Remember to take care of yourself and let the kids help you. You have a strong family bond which really helps. I will pray for you during this time. People prayed for me and I survived everything we went through in the last 3 years. I now pray for those you are facing daunting times.

Yes, video the whole process, keep showing us your collections and how you pack, rearrange your space at the shop, and don't worry about filming the shopping as much, because there is only so many hours in a day. You will be fine. We are all curious about your move, new home, etc. I wouldn't worry about the longer videos because sometimes it takes me 3 days to completely watch. I'm not sure if the longer videos are more profitable, but I prefer to watch any of my saved content providers at only 20 minutes at a time, mainly because I've got stuff to do too. No judgement here. I love watching your videos and do what is best for you and we will be right here, along for the ride.

Danni I get where you're coming from, don't try to take on figuring out the flooring by yourself. You have a handy man, he will know about flooring and places like Home Depot have flooring people that are familiar with the product they sell. My husband passed 3 years ago and it was somewhat overwhelming to find myself with a 2100 sq ft house and 2 acres that I had to deal with, new roof, flooring, painting walls, etc. plus trying to run an online business full time. There are days where I have to make choices between working my business and working outside, might not sound like much but it can be really frustrating when I have tons of inventory to list and I have to go spend 2 hours mowing my lawn and this summer I've had health issues to deal with too. I'm trying to do as much as I can by myself (my kids help me too when they can) to save money, property taxes here are ridiculously high. Take care of yourself, things will fall into place. BTW, you can get organic dandelion seeds on line.

After the heavy re-contruction from a fire is done, I am getting a floor! We have been living with a pine tongue and groove 'floating' sub-floor which is horrible after 20yrs. We all have splinters from it. (There are trusses holding the floor, so there aren't any poles in the workshop downstairs.) I picked out a vinyl plank floor from Lowe's with a lighter coloring with grey, tan/beige, and a bit of blue! It was hard to pick a design with the pine log walls, but when my daughter and I saw his one, we both said 'That's the one'! The steel roof is currently torn off and the temp is rising! Good luck on the move! After moving out of my parents house in 1974, I've moved into one apt for 8yrs, we bought a house in the SF East Bay for 23 yrs and now here in VC, for 20yrs! I can't imagine moving as much as you have HAD to.

You can do this! You have years of experience, packing and selling. A new house that is yours is so exciting to me. Take some pressure off yourself about flooring and lighting, these can be done while your living in the house. I know Noah needs a little more tlc in that area but you can just make his room a priority. The flooring might be best to choose with your installer after he pulls the carpet up to see what the subfloor looks like. The thicker vinyl can cover some subfloor issues but not the thin stuff. You might even need some floor leveler since the house is older and probably has some done some settling. Let you installer guide you in this area. Take care of you, try to eat properly, drink plenty of water and take you vitamins. This is crucial for you to keep going. I am praying for you and all will work out. You are a good person, a loving mother and you are smart and talented. You got this girl. ❤

Dani, start with the first piece of your collectibles and just one piece at a time the cabinets will empty out. DO NOT sell Your pieces just because you're not sure..things can always be sold later but they can't be replaced if you know later you made a mistake. Look for college students out for the summer who Can pack and help move if they have trucks. Even teachers by me do handy work in the summer. Wishing you a fantastic, safe, smooth transition into your new home.❤

Semi-unsolicited opinion: the shelves in your office are a cool shape, but you may be happier with something lighter to brighten your space up. I think the dark color (and of course lack of lighting) made the whole office less cheery for you. Lighten and brighten! 🌞 🌝 😊

I enjoy watching YOU! Your comments your life your teaching everything! Goodwill videos are fun but I was telling my son I can’t wait to see you all pack and get er done! I keep thinking in the back of my mind, I know most people won’t agree with me but I was thinking if you rented a big storage unit and put a lot of the stuff you want to sell in it, label the boxes, purses, clothes , Holiday, plates, glasses etc,you could keep a lot of stuff and sell it later on, at a good price and will make a profit. Or purchase a storage building to put on your property and you wouldn’t have to pay rent on it! Just a thought! Anyway, I’m praying for you, through the tears, frustrations, joys, scary moments like the fish tank leaking. God has gotten us all through the scary moments in life, this is just another part of the journey. God never lets us down. L Lysine 1000 mg by Nature Made is good for the immune system! Drink vegetable juice and fruit no sugar added! God won’t let you down! I’m watching no matter what you do! Prayers for you in your new home and your journey!🙏❤️🌷🦋🌺🎼🌸

I got mine at Lowe's and you want the waterPROOF (as opposed to water resistent), vinyl plank flooring with the backing (underlayment) already attached. It's good quality and affordable. The cheaper you go the less "solid" it sounds when you walk on it and water will make the finish peel. You can get a good quality flooring at a medium price.

Vynal flooring will not warp if water is spilled. Lament flooring will warp. I suggest you visit with store employees about vynal and or lament flooring. I love the color scheme your choosing! Great choices! I like vynal flooring. But, each to their own. I'm praying for you with out ceasing. For our Heavenly Father to guide you in the right choices. Hopefully this will help you Dani. Do not worry about tomorrow. Only focus on today. Put your nose to the grindstone and do one thing at a time. I have moved many many times all around the country. Packing everything on my own. Cleaning the house we left. Unpacked everything one my own and decorated everything by myself. Including painting, landscaping, etc. all was done in while taking care of my autistic son, and other older children, my elderly mother and without my husband. He would leave to go on ahead in a new job. I understand what your going through. Just let your mind focus on God and all will be done with your own hands. Not long from now it’ll all be over. I’m 64 and just completed another move with my family. And for the first time we are renting not buying our home. So I’ve done just what you have just in a little reverse……… I know you can do it! Your very smart and you own what you go after…….

We did our entire house with flooring. The salesman said since my husband was putting it down himself, having the underpayment already there would save a lot of time. It really was quick and easy, he put down two bedrooms and the livingroom in a weekend! Ours had foam like insulation like attached to each blank. He was so glad we picked that. Ask your handyman what would be best for him…

I replaced the green carpeting with cherry hardwoods. Put gray luxury vinyl planks in the two extra bedrooms and both full bathrooms. If I had it to do over I would use vinyl throughout. I went thru a local flooring company and none of it was cheap. The vinyl planks are very sturdy and resistant to scratches. Easy clean up.

    You got this 100%
Remember your saying .. Get shop done!! Well your going to get this done!! You have done this before!!
Try not to stress yourself out before you start!! You got this!! Able also to get some of the help you need!!
Overwhelmed ..get a storage locker ..deal with some later..just get ..you..family and the animal babies see up in their new home !! Deal with left stuff later
Going to be watching and if I see you need a minute to decompress..I will tell you!! Keep you ..yourself well!!
On the flooring. The more costly with rubber backing on is the better looking flooring..the other having to add the backing layer..more complicated and costly or could be.....just opinion...
The grey is nice that you selected..maybe a slate grey.. Darker shows more dirt..so what you choice grey..slate grey would look great..matchy to your tile
Take care and take time still for yourself and Rachel and Noah..maybe a bit anxious as well!!
    You got this!!

Concentrate on emptying the room with your turtles in it. Leave only things for the estate sale in that room. Then in the other rooms pick out things for the estate sale and move them to the first room. That way the things that are going to be packed with be concentrated and other people can just pack them. At the same time your estate sale person can get to work as the other rooms are being packed because she will have one room with only sale items in it. The hardest thing for you will be not changing your mind all the time. If you decide to let something go (like those dogs) then just let them go. Don't give yourself an out! Remember you always say there are more things available out there in the wild. Leave somethings for others. Good luck!

They will send you samples of colors of your choice. We’re using these in our kitchen and bathrooms. They’re awesome; also much easier to lay. Search Cali floors.
